All this talk of SKC Akarenger just reminded me that SKC Go-on Red was on display last year and still haven't been commercialized yet... Need him and SHF Durandal to go on preorder soon :cry

Just a question to anyone who has these particular items, does the SHF Gavv (Popping Gumm) scale well with the DX Vrocan Gatling and can he ride it?

Thank you both!

It's pretty crazy that the S.H. Figuarts and retail figures are practically equivalent. Valen is even more so, since the Figuarts Gavv at least has the gummi detail looking good, while retail Valen's chocolate looks perfect. I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference from across the room, now that the sizes are effectively identical.

SHF Gozyu Wolf revealed and shown off by actor Mio Fuyuno. |
Gozyu Wolf is looking excellent; his suit design just works so much better in Figuarts-form than Bun Red's tracksuit.
It's funny; I woke up today and was like "Huh we could get a Toku-announcement right now. Wait, Gozyu Wolf gets his special weapon in today's episode. Surely they reveal Gozyu Wolf now?" And weirdly enough it happened but - they don't include said weapon :lol I can live without it, but kind of strange. Then again we should wait a bit, Tamashii did without info on some accessories for other figures recently to give the marketing campaigns a second wind, maybe we get that weapon after all. |
Gozyu wolf definitely look great in figuarts form and hides the articulation well in the reveal photos

Bun Violet when? Go On Red?

The chanting circle worked, fantastic news. That is definitely the one prototype I wanted to see commercialized the most, huzzah!
Also, gotta love the auto translate function on the Tamashii webpage, it knows what’s up: https://i.imgur.com/vMAXAa1.jpeg Quote:
In comparision, our spider person here is not that awfully priced. |

You can always wait to pick him up after release. The chance of saving a few thousands yen below retail is relatively high for sentai figuarts, in the worst case, you won't have to pay much over retail even if there is no price drop. |
The store-limited version of Seihou Kuuga Mighty (not the exhibition-exclusive Riku, if you're wondering) is showing up at the NY Tamashii store tomorrow (May 2nd)! Def going to pick up one for myself.

Picked up my copy of Kuuga from the NY Store while on lunch break! It cost $75 USD, but with taxes took me to $81.66. Posting pics here from my office desk, but I'd like to get better pics later. The box looks nice, but it's more of a standard SHF box than the iPhone box-style releases we know SKC for. The trays are still using the more ecofriendly material that started with Faiz.
First things first, this is using the updated head mold (that started with Dragon/Pegasus, I think?). However, instead of the forehead gem being painted red, the horns look to be cast in translucent red and painted gold this time (similar to the existing bracelets/anklets). Speaking of the gold, it looks to be a little darker? Could just be my lighting and I'd need my original figure to compare at home. The red is definitely more matte to evoke the original show, and is especially noticeable on the forearm guards -- these used to be metallic red regardless of if this was the original/Onodera/50th version, but now it's a flat red. The Arcle now has the Linto glyphs at the front picked out in black paint. The core mold itself hasn't changed, so neither has the articulation changed. Accessory spread is the same as the other Mighty Kuuga releases: Two fists, two gesture hands, two calm hands, and a thumbs up (right). Overall if you don't already have a Kuuga, this is actually not bad given how much any of the other versions run for on the aftermarket. Otherwise, I'd say if you already have a Mighty release you can probably skip it UNLESS you're a diehard for the change in finish (like I am)! |
Hmm. While I'm kinda torn on the changes to the head, everything else seems to be an improvement. Thanks for the photos!

I missed preorders for Spider Kumonos on Hobby Genki, Nin-Nin, HLJ, and Tokullectibles. Anyone have any leads on where it might still be available?
