Considering the Current Situation and how it affects everything on top of the (and here I go sounding like a broken record) yen's weakness at the moment, I'm not at all surprised at the development; we've been inching toward it for years now.

Ah I watched the English dub, did you watch it in JP dub?

It's my preferred experience at this point. :D Got nothing against the EN dub, it's what I grew up with and for all its flaws I'll always love it, but the JP cast really are so much better (and some very familiar voices if you've been around long enough).

Man, while it's been a while since this suit design was out, boy does this make me wonder if someome over at PLEX was digging into the rejected designs pile and found a draft for Garren King Form design that was rejected and then repurposed for Gavv. Caking already reminded me of Blade King Form and Over Gavv reminds me of SIC Leangle King Form a bit, so maybe? But hey, looks nice so all is good. :rock:

The jump from 7700 to 11000 is brutal, partially because of the weakness of Yen?

Yeah paying 11000 yen for standard figuart even if it's an exclusive is crazy but I'm with everyone else though with just happy to finally get him to complete the SoL Riders.

What's even more crazy is the aftermarket prices like on Mandarake. I've been noticing recent releases being marked up to over 20000 yen mainly for Seihou releases.

I think it's more of popular characters or designs that are getting marked up and it's nothing new but shocking to see imo.

So if you miss out on a preorder you're more than likely gonna be spending some $$$ on the aftermarket if you're lucky to find one available.

I know it's nothing new but things feel different now with stuff instantly selling out everywhere almost...and I know Kamen Rider's popularity & recognition has grown a lot globally or atleast in the States but is it really that many people buying figuarts?

The figuarts does the design justice and the effect piece is much appreciated and I think a lot of us fans would like to see the return of effects parts included with releases.

Sadly I dont think Diago Speedy is ever gonna get released, I suppose we should be lucky that Durandal is even being released. Cross Saber is a no brainer simply put it?s just a repaint with a little modding, I would have loved for the Feature version with Lion Seki and Lamp Alangina.

I am playing to trim my Kamen Rider SHF collection. The idea is to just keep the main form for main, 2nd and 3rd riders and villains. I have almost all releases after Drive, so if you need anything, please feel free to message. Most of them are sealed.

Did some minor modifications to the Tamashii Store Kuuga!

Painted the forehead gem (silver then clear red) to match the eyes since I thought it was too dark, and I connected the shoulder pads to the torso armor.

How'd you connect the shoulder pads to the torso?

The forehead gem being so dark is my biggest complaint about the figure. Good to know what I should do if I ever somehow have the confidence to not screw up the paint job, haha.

While you *can* do this without taking the figure apart, I prefer to since I hollow out the torso armor supports, as this turns the chest into a floating piece that rises and lowers closer to the way the suit does. Example here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN69cY_GTm0

Afterwards, I check that it actually does move unrestricted and then get to attaching the shoulderpads:

I use a combination of nippers and a dremel to cut away and smooth the balljoint socket if I need space (you can also now cut the hinges off the biceps where the shoulderpad used to connect since they're unneeded now. No going back!), then glue a short strip of elastic fabric (or rubber sheet, it's preference but I prefer the elastic) to each shoulder pad, then glue the other end of the strip to the inside-top of front half of the torso armor.

Then I reassemble and hope that everything works lmao

Attached are photos of the torso armor disassembly (Kuuga is a pain in the ass -- a lot of these are just a front and back half, but Kuuga has his gold collar in his Mighty and variants of Mighty Form so that's something you gotta be careful with!), then two examples of Zenkaizer where you can see more clearly how the shoulderpad movement has changed. Last image is the official Zenkaizer promo pose for comparison. (I also painted the insides of his shoulderpads black to match the suit. Down the line I'd like to hit his chest emblem with a chrome gold somehow, or maybe a chrome pen with clear yellow on top?)

Bandai's "Totally Not Using A Different Suit Actor As A Reason To Use The Retooled Body That Was Used for Power Type, We Remain Fully Committed To The Disastrous Soft Rubber, Promise" shirt is raising a lot of questions that are already answered by the shirt.

As far as I'm aware, Power Type didn't have the issues that Multi-Type did, so this figure will have that going for it atleast.

I did some more looking into it with a second copy. Turns out you can also just take a fine tip cotton swab, dip that in alcohol/thinner, and carefully go to town on the forehead gem. It's actually red but they coated it in a darker paint too? Bizarre.
