It's so frustrating. It used to be the case where retail releases were the ones where you had to worry about with quick sell outs, while Premium Bandai stuff had a pre-order window.

Now, I don't think any real human being is actually able to pre-order these things. I don't get why he isn't a retail release in the first place; the character is clearly popular enough to warrant it.

EDIT: I literally JUST checked Premium Bandai and when I went to sign into my account, it said he was available to preorder and I was able to do it. But now it appears to be sold out again. I don't know if I lucked out with somebody canceling an order or what.

$110 + taxes + shipping is a very good price considering we may have to pay Tariff if importing from Japan now. Don't know how it works still.

It is getting more and more ridiculous with those popular releases. It has been the 3rd time that Hobby Genki can't secure any stocks for customers to purchase.

I was able to get Kaixa on PB-US but I don't think other sites even went up -- I was on like 5 of them at 3:00 AM!

I had a feeling Kaixa was going to be a bloodbath. Really confusing why this wasn't a retail release. I was able to secure a copy of PB US in the end. I fear the rest of the Ryuki figures will be this bad too. Shinkouchous of those early Heisei seasons are waaaaay too popular

BTW, the mobile PB US site felt really busted. I had some time this morning before my work commute to get Kaixa, but the site wouldn't let me check out. It showed a sold out message even when the product page was showing it was available. I quickly switched to the desktop browser and finished my order.

Damn I knew Kaixa Seihou was going to be a shitstorm it beyond me why Bandai didn’t make him a normal release. I also feel that Bandai is getting more greedy with their Figuarts release like making Gaim Jimba a Nations executive. That make the price over $200 after release.

Seriously, these exclusive products are the worst. Reasons aside, it doesn't benefit the consumers/fans in any way. But it won't stop because Bandai seems to be at a state of existence where negative press doesn't phase them anymore thanks to all the cash cows they have. Meanwhile, they have all the funds in the world to start a new toy lineup that has you make clay dookie you can attach limbs, a face, and accessories to and call it a day.

Yeah, with the state of things I'm dreading how the inevitable Shinkocchou Seihou Knight release is gonna go. I'm hoping they don't make him P-Bandai, but it seems like nowadays the only general releases we get anymore are the main Rider and maybe an upgrade form or two - even though Knight is just as much a main character as Ryuki is.

If Toei really is trying expand Rider's popularity internationally, they have to make the actual merch easier to get.

Alas, Bandai and Toei have never seen a crowd of people running at them with their wallets out and open begging to have their money taken that they weren't eager to put up a trap-filled labyrinth, a moat, a minefield, and a stereo system blasting the greatest hits of Dane Cook in the way of.

I'm honestly baffled that Bandai doesn't do what Goodsmile does and allow global shipping straight from their store. Like, is it really that hard to set up a similar distribution system?

It really is ridiculous, I only ended up snagging one because I was checking it almost religiously and got extremely lucky. That should not be how a product gets distributed. But I guess I'm preaching to the choir.

What's frustrating is the stock. We are essentially ordering products that's about half or one year away, which I think is mostly for production of the products. That means that they can essentially have more time to prepare for the stocks if the demand is high. I know this because I have been ordering from different region, and they all come from the same distribution source in China. but what they do is they do drip feeding There are 3 shopee channels, SG, MY, TH, When the item goes live, you are essentially competing against two other regions to see who clicked fast enough, and how lucky you're because, sometimes the product bugged out during check out, and as a result, you will miss your chance. You know on animal documentary, you see predators competing for a dead prey? Yeah, it's the very same thing, except that there are fuck tons of predators instead of 2 or 3.
The only time I got something is either A. the demand is not that high B. someone cancel their order and I got lucky checking it randomly. If it wasn't for someone releasing their Ark One, I wouldn't have got it.

Yeah, I saw it last night and by the time I logged in it was out of stock again. The listing is over as of 10/3. Hopefully that means that P-Bandai US will put up another listing with advanced notice? Japan has had 3 pre-order runs already. Whoever decided against making Kaixa a retail should be demoted.

It used to be the case where main characters were guaranteed retail releases, and exclusives were limited to extra/Movie Riders and certain forms

I hate how every Rider line these days is basically just 2 general releases and the rest are P-Bandai, even for characters who are clearly popular. Hell, IIRC, both Gotchard and Gavv only have a single retail release a piece.
