I try to choose unorthodox and under utilized Pokemon.
But the longer I wait to use them, the more I realize how much I don't like them (See: Seismitoad, every other water type I trained to fill the Milotic shaped gap in my life, Gigalith, Bastiodon, Jumpluff, Sylveon, Banette), and the more likely I return to older, quote-unqoute good Pokemon :lol

Anyway, lemme know when you finish training, whenever that'll be :p

so who can recommend some good Water-types to try out?

I've been using Crawdaunt for a while & he's pretty cool but if I stick Hydreigon on the final team I'd have two Dark-types. Dont like that extra vulnerability...

Greninja is a popular choice this generation.

It depends on what you need it for. If you need a slow tank, go with Swampert or Blastoise. If you need someone fast Greninja's a good choice. If you need one that's all-around, Milotic's great.

Also Klonoa inspired me. I'm drawing Matrix's trainer with my own, since we teamed up a lot in double battles.

Woops, I totally forgot that! :lol As pure waters go, Milotic is pretty good and so is Blastoise. But for Blastoise to work you'd need a free Mega Evolution slot.

Also consider Rotom-W? Hard to catch but very, very good.

Azumarill, for sheer physical strength.

A good water type would be Starmie. Gives nice Psychic coverage, too.
I could get you a Feebas if you want Milotic, though.

While Greninja is Dark, if you have one with Protean, it would always change types every attack.

Swampert can fill that roll as well. even with Huge Power, it's still slightly less than Swampert's. It just depends on whether he wants ground or fairy.
