What are you lost on? Kenzaki has to fight the Undead, plain and simple.
|
It's the bits around that which are throwing me off. There's obvious plots (Defeat the undead, find out what unsealed them (Or, what occurred in BOARD that did so, unless I missed something), finding the chief and why Tachibana took him, and whatever Chalice is doing), but it seems like there isn't a story around it all aside from "Undead bad. Kill them."

That is why a lot have said you need to get through the first 10 episodes for things to start moving. I personally thought the show was good from the first episode throughout (well, there are two bad episodes due to how goofy they are), but a lot did not.

Just about to watch Accel's debut on W. Since I started this series I've been thinking pretty much all the way through "okay this is good, but I don't know if its as good as people make out" and then when the last two episodes with Kirihiko happened it really hit me how good W is.
I get the feeling its only going to get better from here too :D |

Well, I just finished Kuuga and I feel... underwhelmed. I mean, the last episode itself was great because it was a nice thought out epilogue, but what the hell happened in 47 and 48? Fourty-seven starts out who knows how long after the ending of 46, which really throws you off, but the final battle was so lackluster. "Let's have the final villlain, who has absolutely no development at all in the series, have a punching fight with Yusuke in the snow and then end it with them falling over. No choreography, no in suit action, not even a rider kick or an explosion. Oh, and in the mean time, the Rose Lady, who has been in the series since the beginning, gets killed by a bullet, making her the most useless character in the entire series. Yes, this is the best idea we can come up with." WHAT THE FLYING ****?! Talk about a way to leave the final episode of a great series lacking. Except for those two episodes, the show was very great. I enjoyed the designs, the Grongi were well done, I liked the whole game concept, but damn, you would think Japan would barely have anyone left alive to live there after this. The characters were great, interesting, and funny. They were well thought out and really added to the show and to Yusuke's character. However, since it is in similar tone, I do have to say I think Agito is the better of the two series, because I just think the development of Shuichi tramples the development of Yusuke by miles. Yusuke was pretty much the same guy through the entire series, but Shuichi's amnesia really helped his character stand out. Not to mention Gills helped to add a bit of variety to the way the battles were played out over the course of the series. With just Kuuga, sometimes, the battles got a little boring because he would use the same attacks over. It was also weird seeing him get his last form in the second to last story arc, and then he didn't even actually doing anything with it. Once again, I enjoyed the series a lot, I can see why it made Kamen Rider popular again, but the little things really drag it down a notch. I give it a 3.5/5 stars.
Oh yeah, and I watched Episode 46.5, thinking that would bridge the gap of what happened inbetween 46 and 47. NOPE!! It is just another clip show. |
