I think it was a mixture of attached and hand held. Shoulder cannons are attached then the rest are hand held

What? There are four. Long, mid, short, and the water cannon. Did you just miss that?

Honestly, I just think this mode would work better if he had a base gun weapon upon transformation. Then four different attachments could be swapped and equipped on to it. It differentiates this from from the other two more. One has armor added on. The second gets four entirely unique melee weapons, and the third has four attachments to an already existing weapon. Also, that way Paleo can still fight effectively even without activating the additional powers. Of course he's got basic hand-to-hand in Thero form, the basic gauntlets alone in Quadro form, and a basic gun without attachments in Aqua form.

Also for the weapon the water cannon should be a burst/grenade type that way we have

Short- bayonet/grappling hook (to match with quad forms melee lance that can be used for ranged)
Mid- gattling gun
Long- sniper
Burst- water cannon

The base gun could just be a pistol or something

Well, hold on just a sec. Actually. He'll have a base gun without any of the dino abilities activated. So what if the basic mode for the Aqua cannon sucks up water into a reserve and fires it as a pressurized stream. Then each of the dino power attachments transform the water supply into different ice-based projectiles.

-Gatling
-Harpoon
and
-Ice Blast (shotgun burst)

Can't we just ditch the water sucking, since Im sure there might be situations where a water source isn't present. We could just justify it that the weapon absorbs moisture in the air.

Alright sure. Although I sort of want that to be established. That the water supply comes from SOMEWHERE. Like maybe if there was a monster who drys everything and pulls moisture out of the air, rendering Aqua useless in that situation and forcing him to go Thero or Quadro. I also think that so the form isn't too overpowered, the supply should be able to be exhausted. Like maybe if he fires faster than the weapon can absorb moisture, the cannon stalls for a bit. Anywho. Regardless:

Base Gun - Water Stream Cannon
Dino Powers
Short Range - Ice Blast
Mid Range - Gatling
Long Range - Sniper
Grapple/Tether/Bayonet - Harpoon

Also I don't really think its that op. A tiny blade on a gun isn't gonna do as much damage as a giant sawbladed sword serving as an emergency defensive weapon (thus the grappling hook) since Aqua probably won't be able to take much damage if we were to go with fighter-knight gunner rpg logic. We could make it that each mode has a set number of shots that can be fired before recharging thus justifying the need for a melee/get-away weapon

And grappling hook + sniper. Do the math
