There hasn’t been any news on this thread for the Shazam! movie so I’ll just compile it here. We pretty much have the main cast already:

This is based heavily on the New 52 Shazam story. Zachary Levi has described the movie as Tom Hank’s Big but with superpowers. He said the film will have a fun, lighthearted feel to it. Filming will start in February. Zachary Levi and Asher Angel have already started production. Shazam! comes out April 5, 2019. This seems like a pretty interesting movie to me I can’t wait.

So it's official. Brian Michael Bendis is taking over both Superman titles. It will star with a Man of Steel prelude in DC Nation #0 preview sampler in May and a six issue weekly Man of Steel miniseries starting May 30. Then on July 4 he will write the relaunched Superman #1 and later that month will take over Action Comics #1001.

First of all, I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. Sure, Bendis is a good/great writer but his recent line of work at Marvel prior to leaving hasn't really shown that.

I'm sad to see Tomasi and Jurgens leave the titles. I've loved the work they've done for Superman and Action Comics respectively so it's sad to see them go.

Hopefully DC knows what they're doing. Hopefully we'll see the return of good writer Bendis not the continuation of "last few years at Marvel" Bendis

I've heard Bendis is pretty good at writing solo titles.

So, as long as they keep him away from team books maybe it'll be alright.

The Aquaman movie is looking really good. These costumes are super accurate to the comics and Black Manta looks gorgeous.

I hope Aquaman’s suit is actually that bright in the movie, I always hate how muted colors tend to be in movies. Seriously though I am hyped for this movie, I swear i’m seeing it opening night.

I was going to watch it but after just hearing "Robin literally says fuck batman and murders people and Starfire burns someone alive" I am convinced this show belongs in the trash

I was convinced about that once the designs leaked. What they did to Anna Diop is a crime. Such a beautiful and talented woman who could easily pull off the role if the guys who wrote the character and designed the costumes gave even a single fuck about it all.

Some people online did a simple photoshop of her and it is unbelievable to me how much better it looks than what DC went with.

Honestly, I'm not surprised by the "Fuck Batman" thing. There's been multiple stories where, after Robin (Dick Grayson) goes out on his own, he feels like he's still forced under Batman's shadow.

Doesn't change it from looking like shit, but still, Grayson holding some animosity towards Bruce isn't some massive character departure.

If this is how dark Dick is, then I’m really curious to see how dark they make Jason.

I remember the Teen Titans comics after the 70s stop being family friendly, so I'm not surprise by some of the violence in the trailer. So far, I think it looks like it could be decent. Besides, it is better than Teen Titans Go XD.

Looks meh. Some of the humor was funny while it felt kinda lame. This one looks more family friendly which is not a bad thing for Captain Marvel.

The Aquaman trailer was something to behold. I am so happy they gave us Black Manta in all his glory and not some reimagining, the scene with Arthur as a child at the aquarium was beautifully done. I cannot wait for this movie. Shazam I'm holding off on. Looks like fun, a lot of fun, I'm just not completely sold yet for some reason. I'm not sure why.

Titans though I am all in for. It was enough to make me want the DC Universe streaming service.

I think I saw both trailers at least 10 times by now. I wish to see Momoa in the classic duds beat Black Manta and Oceanmaster to a pulp and crack a can of beer to celebrate. And I hope we get a classic training montage of Shazam figuring out his powers.

This news makes me hype. Swamp Thing is one of my favorite DC characters and I loved him when I was 3 years ago back when the Swamp Thing TV show was on Fox Kids.

So are the rumors of Michael B Jordan playing Superman next true? I think he would be a great choice for Val-Zod.

If they decide to do that they should just have the next "phase" of the DCEU take hints from Earth 2, have Clark and Bruce go out with a meaningful death saving the universe, and let Val-Zod and Dick Grayson fill the void. Personally, I love Earth 2 Val-Zod Superman and Dick Grayson Batman's costumes so works for me.

Now this doesn't mean we take out everyone else out too. Actors who want to stay can stay. But, this is I think a decent way for DCEU to salvage what worked while getting rid of or fixing the pooptastic elements of their cinematic universe. It doesn't have to be all EARTH 2 JSA. No, absolutely not.

That... Would actually be really damn cool. I'd be down for it.
