I knew we couldn’t stay in this apartment complex forever, but I didn’t think we’d be moving this soon. Thought we’d be here for at least a year. The good thing is that we won’t have to decorate and our belongings are being relocated bit-by-bit before we properly move in ourselves.

Know what's awesome? When you go to get a routine check-up at a clinic you've been going to for years, and they tell you you need to update your paperwork. So you do, and you specifically check the box that says "Hispanic/Latino." Then you hand the paperwork in, and one of the workers takes one look at you and checks the "White" box and specifically writes "NOT Hispanic or Latino" on the paperwork.
