Yeah wouldnt it be great if spidey would be allowed to...I dont know...evolve as a character? First the whole OMD fiasco and now they are desperately trying to force him back into his 90s status quo.

Blasphemy, the readers don't want that! They want to see a 30 year old, that is hated by everyone and blames himself for everything. Growing up? Developing? What's that?
I love Spidey, is seriously do, but if there's one character that is constantly strangled by the status quo it's him. |
The only thing I give Marvel is that they try to make it a somewhat natural progression...unlike certain other comic companys who just press the reset button if they feel like it.

Well... it's been a long time coming. After almost a year of complaints, cries, fusses, and hurt, I've decided to confront it.
I've decided to meet the monster who killed an amazing man and dared to call himself superior; I've decided to meet the man who destroyed my childhood; I've decided to read The Superior Spider-Man... and judge it fairly. ... But first, I read the New 52 Shazam! I liked it. Billy Batson is a dastard, but he's still likable. The story was really interesting, and I like Black Adam's new origin. But Superior Spider-Man... I'm sorry, Peter. I laughed at Ock's hilarity. And then he killed a person. ... NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Spider-Man is not a killer! I don't care whether it's Ock behind the wheel or Peter or even Tinky Friggin' Winky, SPIDER-MAN DOES NOT KILL! Especially with the experiences that he's had. You felt those experiences, Ock. How... how... This is Spider-Man now. This is the Spider-Man who we'll have to read about. ... The stories were decent. They're definitely strong. But this is the guy we're supposed to believe is Spider-Man? |
I started reading the big three Justice League titles.
Justice League was okay. It had awesome artwork, and all of the characters had some awesome moments, but as a story, it fell just a little too flat. I was not expecting to like Justice League Dark as much I ended up liking it. It had a nice, engaging story, great artwork, and some fun character moments. From what I've read of Justice League International so far, I like it. Booster Gold is a lot less of a joke character than I was lead to believe, and Rocket Red is awesome. |
I finally started to read Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas (never got too far in the OVAs since they are incomplete).
I love it, the mythology of the SS franchise has always been fascinating and here it's used in what seems like a more focused storyline than the original saga (nothing against Kurumada's work, but the Galaxian Wars always felt out of synch with the rest of the story), the art is simply beautiful with incredibly striking scenes, like the kiss between Pandora and Alone, or the first time Tenma burns his cosmo. The characters are very well written, and so far very likeable, plus no words can describe the feeling of seeing Shion and Dohko again. A very promising chapter in the franchise. And probably the best entry point for anybody interested in the world of Saint Seiya. |
I got three.
Coin Locker Babies Behind the Pink Curtain The Flowers of Evil |
started house of Hades few days ago.

Lost Canvas: just finished 34, the Albafica, Underworld and Asmita arcs.
Just perfect, Albafica easily became one of my favorite gold saints, Tenma is an excellent lead, and learning the origin of Shaka's rosary is an excellent way to tie into the original show. |
Justice League International deserved to last longer.
Oh, and Spider-Man Noir is awesome. |
