I disagree about the Dinobots. They at least look like the dinos they represent.

And I said this previously, but I'm a fan of the new zords, but not as zords, but as you said, some sort of "nega-verse" (not your exact quote, same idea though) Power Ranger team.

I still don't see how this looks like anything that Hollywood has put out already though.

Okay, so not trying to twist words here but it sounds like you don't want the Power Rangers to look like their current movie versions, because they look like other characters (such as Iron Man) but would be okay if they looked like other characters? (like Black Panther or Superman)

I mean, we've had spiky armor before, blocky armor, Battlizers, etc. in regular Power Rangers. To me, these look more like the original Movie suits, but alien in nature, but still identifiable as Power Ranger suits. The morpher belt, the diamond, even the helmets in regards to how the zords appear.

Also, seriously, you can't see the obvious similarities between the TF movie designs and the zords? Or the similarity between the trailer and "Chronicle?"

Honestly I have zero idea as to what Jupiter Ascending and Chronicle is.

And I can see a something of a similarity, but the Transformer Movie Dinobots look far and wide more like dinosaurs compared to the Power Ranger movie Zords, even if you remove extraneous legs.

Only one that looks even remotely like it should is Saber-Toothed Tiger.

The whole techno-organic anatomy models from hell aesthetic is what makes folks who are hating what they are seeing cringe it seems.
I agree TF live-action dinobots look more accurate anatomically(minus the two-headed pterodactyl) but both them and these zords aesthetically feel similar with that whole techno-organic look which just creep some people out.
If Pacific Rim can do robots that do not feel like mutilated toys that look like they came fresh out of the microwave no reason for this movie to do that as well for the zords and Alpha.

I can't speak for those who made the original comparisons, but in my honest opinion, yes. Iron Man, Black Panther, and Superman all look more or less like their comic book/source material counterparts. The power rangers costumes more closely resembled Black Panther's and Superman's costumes than Iron Man's, however, because they wore spandex and iron man wore metal. Movie Superman and Black Panther weren't plain spandex, but still kept that look. If they had received Iron Man armor, people would've hated it
