Monsters: Lunalight tiger x3, lunalight blue cat x3, lunalight purple butterfly x3, lunalight black sheep x 1 (already had two at home), lunalight wolf x3, lunalight white rabbit x2 (already had 1), Brotherhood of the fire fist Bear x1 (he only had 1) Spells: Fusion tag x3, Cattle Call x3, Lunalight perfume X3, Fusion substitute x1 (already had 2) Mask Change II x1, Fire Formation Tenki X3 Traps: Lunalight reincarnation dance x3 Extra deck: Lunalight Cat Dancer x2 (had 1 at home), Lunalight Panther Dancer x2 (he only had 2), Lunalight Leo Dancer x2 (already had 1), Masked hero Dark Law x1, Brotherhood of the fire fist Tiger King x1. Unrelated to Lunalights: Supeheavy Samurai Big Benkei x1, Raidraptor revolution Falcon x1, Raidraptor Ultimate Falcon x1. Edit: Also traded Spyral tough, the main card from the recent dark magician set, and shinobird empress peacock and the ritual to summon her. |
I'd say you'd be better off using Poly rather than Substitute in Lunalights, just for the sake of speed.

I'd experiment. Recursion is important, considering how many resources you'll be spending on your fusions, but I'm not enough of a Lunalight or a fusion player to really tell you the exact numbers.
Do you have King of the Swamp? It's pretty useful as a dual purpose Poly search and letting you skip Cat Dancer and go straight to Panther or even Leo. |

You're gonna wanna throw in Fire Fist Formation Tenki since it searches for pretty much any monster in the deck. A foolish burial wouldn't help either. Once Kaleido Chick comes out in the TCG you're going to wanna run as many of her as you can since she speeds the deck up a lot and pretty much gets rid of needing Fusion Tag. |
I forgot to mention this a little while back. I got another one of those blind packs, the ones of like 16 cards with one Rare card, and got a number card. I GOT A NUMBER!! Never thought I'd get one. It's Number 44 Sky Pegasus.
|
...Now would not be a good time to mention that I only know of that card by seeing it on a "Worst Xyz monsters" video, would it?

Dude, Pendulums work best with Fusion and especially Synchro. The fact that they still haven't printed a true generic pendulum tuner shows even Komoney knows how broken that would be.
They actually don't play all that nice with Xyz, as I've found playing D/D/D's and Abyss Actors. Of course, I'm still a huge Synchro fan, I just wish they'd make a GOOD new synchro archetype. |
Eh. I don't actually play the game anymore. I just get the cards on whatever whim comes to me. What I'm saying though is that I never thought I'd own a Number Card. Especially since I'm so casual and blazay about buying cards.

saw yugioh dark side of dimension yesterday and i love it. i will say this feel more in to manga continuty and retcon GX near the end the dub full on uncut. i will say that i was happy to see a gun yugioh.
|
Really? Collecting isn't really my thing, and since I don't play the game physically very much, I don't really know the rarities, but I could of sworn there were several common Numbers. I dunno, I'll have to check what nonsense like Gold-Rat and such are.

So no GX wasn't retconed. |

Hey should i use fusion recycling plant in my lunalights deck?
|
Does it recycle Poly? Do Lunalights need Poly?
The answer, is the same. |
Just curious has anyone tried to make their own archetype? Last one I tried was one centered around toy factory spell cards that could summon toy monsters based on monster attributes in the graveyard.
|
I made one based around elemental monsters. The gimmicks were that there were 3 monsters in each element (Small, medium, and large), so they would level up, so to speak to gain larger effects (Example would be the wind, which would destroy spells/traps, to destroying any card on the field, to banishing any card on the field as it levels up).
The other gimmick was that each "Large" monster could fuse with another, combining effects and gaining more. They also recycle (If a big monster is destroyed, but you have both small and medium in the grave, you can summon the small and shuffle the med and large into the deck instead). It's not too strong since destruction is so rampant x3 |
So... like a hybrid between Lvl monsters and Yang Zings?
I keep tossing around ideas on how to make a Kamen Rider styled archetypes that isn't just more HERO support. Heck, I've even tossed around the idea of making them strong Geminis, just to make it a double. |

Better than my idea because it went off tract when I thought about including synchros and fusions.

I just watched Yugioh Dark side of dimensions, that was fun.

...Actually, Masked Heroes don't have any form of bikes either, even in the manga where they were an independent archetype from the rest of the HERO family... This needs to be addressed. |
Well, how would you address it?
Besides, there's a reason why they chose Masked heroes, not Riders. |
Well, I feel the obvious idea is for them to be equips. Would probably have some form of protection for the rider alongside an offensive effect to simulate how most Rider Machines tend to act in the shows.
I've been futzing around with this idea for a couple years now, haven't really hit on a concept that I was wholly on-board with. The one that I felt had the most promise was having a three branch archetype based around one of three main "riders," each with a focus on dealing with one of the three major types of cards, so one for monsters, one for spells and one for traps. I'd also recently gotten the idea to split Fusion, Synchro and Xyz along those same lines. Not sure who would get what, although I'm kind of thinking having those be respective could work aesthetically. Now I'm just spitballing at this point, but maybe having them use your opponent's stuff as part of their upgrades would be a cool concept. Like fusing with your opponents monsters, changing levels based on how many spells they have banished for Synchro plays and using their Traps as Xyz material... |
Hey can I confirm something? Tournament decks can at max be 40 cards in the main deck and 10 in the extra right?
|
No, it's 40-60 and up to 15 in the extra.
Who are you getting your info from, because I feel the need to smack them. |
Quote:
Edit: also sneak peak tournaments |
Well, to be fair, 40 cards is generally the best number, just because less cards means more consistency.
I also have no idea what Monster League is. Is that a local thing to you or...? |

AH, it's a draft league. Okay, now I get it. Yeah, draft tends to have different deckbuilding rules than standard play in most card games.

Also would anyone like to give me any advice on my lunalight deck build? |
Put up the list. It's hard to give any advice beyond the bare basics without one.

Monsters: Lunalight tiger x3, lunalight blue cat x3, lunalight purple butterfly x3, lunalight black sheep x3, lunalight wolf x3, lunalight white rabbit x3, Brotherhood of the fire fist Bear x1 Spells: Fusion tag x3, Cattle Call x3, Lunalight perfume x3, Fusion Recover x3 Mask Change II x1, Fire Formation Tenki x3 Polymerzation x3 Traps: Lunalight reincarnation dance x3 Extra deck: Lunalight Cat Dancer x3, Lunalight Panther Dancer x2, Lunalight Leo Dancer x3, Masked hero Dark Law x1, Brotherhood of the fire fist Tiger King x1. definatly planning on adding some meta spells like twin twisters and MST and traps like (bottomless) trap hole, as well as horn of the phantom beast. |
I don't know why you've got 3 copies of Lio dancer, because you ain't summoning it that many times. I'm not even sure you should have two. Also, you can do rank 4, 3 and 2 plays, so I'd look at picking up some stuff for that. I mean, when it comes to money options, Castel, 101 and Utopia the Lightning are all Rank 4 staples that can be used in just about anything with level 4s, but they are pricey. Granpulse is a good S/T remover, and the Phantom Knights of Break Sword are also useful.
Also, I don't see any King of the Swamps, which is pretty useful in this deck because it can replace Cat and Panther for fusions or search for Poly in a pinch. Running Dark Law is an option, but you're using a lot of cards just to do your main decks thing, so having to rely on Mask Change II is... not the best. Oh, and Dark Eruption is useful for getting back material. Still not as good as Salvage, but what is? Seriously, a water attribute fusion archetype would be insane because of that card. |

also what decks do you play lockon? |
Whatever I feel like at the time. Again, the benefit to playing on simulators more than real life. I'm not really picky on what I'll at least try, but I generally only seriously try to learn decks that I like, which are usually battle-focused toolboxes.
Although, honestly, if we were talking about a deck that I would seriously consider for competitive play RIGHT now, it's either D/D/D's or Blue-Eyes, the former because I feel like a total badass when playing them, the latter because it's freaking Blue-Eyes White Dragon as a real competitive force for the first time I can remember. It's like what Charizard fans felt when they got the Megas. |
