Went to a clothing store today and they had a bunch of Star Wars stuff. Couldn't find a t-shit with prequels stuff on it.
Yes. I am going to be that motherfucker wearing the Prequels t-shirt to Episode 7. |

What I'd love to see the rage for is if Darth Vader makes a cameo in Rogue one and takes off his helmet and it's Hayden Christensen in makeup making him look all white and Decrepit. There's rumors of Hayden cameoing in Episode 8 and I would fucking love it if it were a legit Anakin moment rather then as a civilian just to see the rage. |

Now that's unexpected. But it sounds awesome. Quote:

Yeah, I realized I didn't say what I actually wanted to get across. |

Or you know what else would be cool? Live action Clone Wars for a scene or two. |

It would be cool if they go back to those stories for the sequels because that would also give them the chance to fix problems the newer movies had and fill in blanks that kinda got unanswered for people like me who don really care for EU stuff. |

I don't know if it would affect them from a financial stand point (unless they remade the Prequels as the "canon" versions), but I think it would cause a bad fan reaction among the young, unrepresented Star Wars fans if like a 1/3rd of the franchise just up and disappeared like that. |

I have no clue if Disney has an interest in reworking the prequels, but they won't do it for petty fans. Yeah, that would be my main issue, a lot of people grew up on the prequel era, and eventually they will be able to use that nostalgia. |

Don't like that Darth Vader was originally a whiny bitch? Big deal. It took him 18 years to get to where he was when we first saw him. People change over time. The only things I don't think work in the prequels from a continuity point of view is Anakin's age and C3PO. In the original movies Anakin was supposed to be Luke's age when Obiwan first met him and C3PO is supposed to be 112 years old. Oh, and I did think it was lame that Palaptine's face was melted by his lightning being reflected at him instead of Force Corruption. I think Rebels is the biggest proof though that Disney is not going to eliminate the prequels from continuity. If they were, they would not have put Clone Wars characters in to the show. |
I didn't know there ever were DVD versions that were untouched. I always thought it was only the first lot of remasters that came out on DVD.

I agree on people complaining about Anakin, people change and 18 years is a long time. Anakin was in his late twenties when he dawned the suit? So by A New Hope he's at least in his 40s. Honestly, I think a lot of people's problems with the prequels was that what they saw didn't fit their imagintion. It's kind of like a problem with casting movies based on books, where a lot of it is based on your imagination, except everyone generally imagined Darth Vader to have a badass personality with variations within that and Lucas throwing a curveball. |

Like I have said, there are things I find in the prequels that redeem them. The Darth Maul fight with Duel of Fates playing. The marching of the clone armies in the second movie and Anakin slaughtering the Sand people. In the third movie I love the music to the opening battle, the Order 66 scenes, the opera scene between Palpatine and Anakin (not to mention it is the only time in the prequels that truly builds on the mythos of Star Wars), the marching on the Jedi temple (Anakin looks so damn badass), and the fights between Obiwan, Anakin, Palpatine, and Yoda. Oh, and I love the light saber choreography between all three movies because that is the one area where the OT was lacking. To the other question, in 2006 Fox released the Star Wars trilogy on DVD individually and included bonus DVD discs with Laser disc converted to DVD copies of the untouched trilogy. |
Well my friends who had never seen Star Wars saw episode 2 and thought it was crap. Then they saw episode 4 and they liked it.
The prequels suffered many problems beyond expectation. They suffered boring characters and boring stories. Plus the CGI did not age well at all. Kassyhk looks more like it belongs in an older video game. |

They definitely did have some redeeming qualities, but overall they're hated for reasons well beyond just not living up to expectations and it shouldn't have taken a 6 season TV series to patch up most of the plot holes. |
