I don't see why Sentai hates Eric. I like the Quantum Ranger. He was mean and abrasive.

Eric is awesome. He wasn't evil, just kind of a dick.

Yeah, Eric was cool. I normally hate the jerk characters, but it worked with him.

Watching Power Rangers Zeo. Forgot how amazing this was.

It's because you can tell that there are reasons why he is the way he is, and that he's actually a good guy underneath it all. Toshiki Inoue really should watch Time Force.

Finished re watching Zeo. It was alright. It felt like everything except the juice bar in Angel Grove is a completely different place. Probably to better fit the Sentai footage, I suppose. Both Trey and Jason as the gold ranger are awesome,

Also began rewatching Turbo...wow, the tone is all over the place so far...I don't even find it enjoyably bad aside from this one episode where Adam becomes a complete cartoon character because of the Sentai footage. Weirdly enough, the Rangers' acting seems better than ever, though.

Oh man the Pirhanatrons had their own theme song proclaiming how worthless they are. Huh.

Right now I am watching season 1 of MMPR and it feels so good.

I rewatched the first few episodes of MMPR and I couldn't take it any more, was it always that shit or has it just aged horribly?

Well I still love Power Rangers, I just don't see the appeal of MMPR specifically, not like I did as a kid.

I think you just answered you own question, my man. For you, the show has not aged well. Everyone's mileage will vary on that one.

I think a lot of it depends on how old you were when you first saw it. I was 12 in 1992, so I approached it with a different basis than someone who was younger or older. You know how it goes. :)

My three favourites are JF, Time Force and RPM. But I also love Ninja Storm, early Dino Thunder was great, I love Mystic Force and Megaforce is okay. My Lightspeed rewatch has been fun so far and I loved all of Saban's stuff as a kid.

That is true, when I saw MMPR for the first time I was only a few years old, I didn't care much for characters or narrative as a child, haha.

Watching the last part of the Shadowborg saga. Vexor is pretty polite for a supervillain, he makes a point of arranging the fight to the death at 3 o clock after school :lol

These have been a fantastic 6 episodes. Im sad they're over because it means Beetleborgs is probably going to crawl back to its usual standard :(

All done with Jungle Fury now and my final verdict is awesome but rushed.

RJ and...the Rhino Dude's ranger plots were garbage because of the shit pacing and so much happened in the last episode none of it provided any kind of satisfaction.

Loved everything else though, new favourite of mine.

My viewing of Beetleborgs has slowed down quite a bit recently, but I only have 12 episodes left so should hopefully get it finished over the weekend.

Anyway, I just watched the episode with the Jo actor switchover. I have to give them credit for actually trying to explain away the change, but the explanation is still a little on the weak side. Doesn't help that Jo #2 isn't as good as Jo #1 either.

I decided to give the opening two parter for In Space a watch since everyone says this show has aged well and I mean...really?

There were some fun fight scenes, especially considering how much was unmorphed but the acting was absolutely awful and these effects have not aged well.

I don't really like the modern Toku over use of cheap CGI but I completely forgot about the days where weapons would appear in awkward jump cuts.

...I think Turbo has the most disturbing looking monsters out of every season. I ean I get that they're supposed to mostly look comical, but I think thet really missed the mark in that regard...

Almost through the season and it's still just really bizarre. Theres one thing that endlessly amuses me though.

One, is the Blue Centurion just stuck in this time? Does he really have nothing better to do in his free time besides hand out traffic violations and help old ladies cross the street?

Also, I'm on the episode where Carlos becomes a vampire. Haha, this is corny.

Man, the second set of Turbo Rangers have to be the friendliest Ranger group ever with Bulk and Skull. And the Turbo finale is surprisingly dire. I guess in great numbers even Pirhanatrons are a major threat. The shot of them launching off into space was pretty damn great.


Having just watched this, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the acting. I find the rangers to sound....like normal people, honestly. Astronema and Andros tended to get overly cheesy, but...eh, that amuses me. It's way better than the toneless blandness that we constantly got from Samurai.

I think I might have talked someone into watching Masked Rider... WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

Sure they may have shown emotions but they still felt awkward, wooden and amateurish. I've seen much better acting in Power Rangers than that. I didn't really think the acting started to get good until Lightspeed and even then...

Eh, I wasn't hearing it. None of the dialogue , sounded especially awkward to me. It got way too over-the-top at points, but that's better than boring carboard dialogue.

I'll wait until I get to Lightspeed Rescue to judge the acting on it, though from what I remember from the last time I watched it, I found it okay.

I'm really not big on the early Saban stuff, loved it as a kid, but it doesn't hold up well as an adult. I think Time Force was really the only time they got it right with Lightspeed acting like a precursor to the season, as they tested out what does and doesn't work in making a great season.

I think all in all Disney had the better writers and the better actors, overall making much more consistently great seasons, even if stuff like Wild Force and OO were garbage and Dino Thunder is overrated extremely.

I'm mixed on the Saban seasons. I couldn't get through all of MMPR season 1. MMPR2 was a mixed bag, and I thought MMPR3 was just goofy fun. I dunno why, but stuff really came together in that season for me until they turned to kids.

Zeo...I liked it a bit, but...I dunno. I liked the Gold Rangers and the Bulk and Skull antics mostly. Turbo was mostly this bizarre mess. I never skipped an episode solely because I wanted to see what baffling plot and horrific monster came next.

So far....I like Space. Though, I'm starting to see where the acting falls off now, though it mostly falls into cheesy and not to wooden for me. Though...that may be because I'm on the TMNT crossover. I liked LG and LR. Time Force was just awesome. I know people are kinda mixed on Lost Galaxy, but I really like how ambitous it was. Also it had my favorite extra hero, The Magna Defender. Er, the first one. Not Mike.

As for the Disney Seasons, I'll have to watch 'em again, though I remember them also being a mixed bag for me.

MMPR is easily one of Power Rangers low points for me, up there with Wild Force and OO.

I also thought Lost Galaxy was awful, the acting was bad, the writing was bad, the plotting was bad and it all just felt so horribly cheap.

Disney on the other hand had great seasons like Ninja Storm, Mystic Force, Jungle Fury and RPM.

Wild force is bad? That one is my favorite season!

Once again I thought the acting was pretty bad and the censorship was so forced and obvious it was kind of embarrassing in places.

There were some good action scenes though.

Eh, in general, I thought it was pretty entertaining. Not among the best, but justbthis goofy fun thing.

It's Power Rangers. It's all cheap. I honestly don't remember the acting, but I thougt it had a lot of cool things going for it. I mean, it was on a space colony! The main villain had a really reasonable motivation to obsessively hate the Rangers. And the Magna Defender just being a vengeance driven nutcase because a villain kolled his son was always cool to me.

I dunno, I just thought it was pretty ambitous, even if the plot istself was disjointed. Which it was.



From what I remember....I felt the same way about Ninja Storm the way I do about MMPR3. They both have a lot of the same sorta feel right down to.the ninja motif. But like I said, I gotta watch it again.

Mystic Force...I don't remember liking at all.
