Took a break from The Last of Us today (which is amazing) to play Journey (which is also amazing).

Just got Saints Row: The Third and I like it. Never played one of the SR games before. I like the comedy, I like it doesn't take itself seriously. And I love how fun it is.

Ironically, my friends who love the Saints Row series thought The Third took things too far. That the humor was just too much by having no grounding, so it wasn't as fun as the first two (They still loved the gameplay, though).

Luckily I've never played the other ones :lol

I played Saints Row 2 and it was down right dreadful. I might try out 3 since it is now free for PS+ members.

I think Saints Row 2 struck a bad balance for open world gaming, there was basically no limits on you from the beginning which means you could basically do everything the moment you popped the disc in. That sounds great...for about half an hour and it isn't like once you've done all the novelty stuff there is a great story to stay around with. Let's just say mine and that games relationship was not a long one.

I personally thought 3 was so much better with the deeper combat, all the different factions and the way they really mixed up the genre. I actually felt like playing that one through to the end.

In a sense of madness, I never found any Saints Row game to be all that fun.
Locke hit the nail on the head. It's great that the game gives me all the toys with few restrictions from the get go, but I had no interest and the novelty wore off.
Yeah, I could smack someone with a dildo bat. I don't see the draw since they've been letting you do that for 3 games straight. I don't care what your cousin may have been telling you, but it's not that funny the hundredth time.

I can see the allure and I'm not going to rain on anyone's parade if they enjoy the SR series as a whole. They just weren't for me.

Almost finished with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Every summer I start over and play each game in anticipation for the newest one released.

MOre power to you. I can't bring myself to replay them, even the second one, which is still the best. I don't even know why I am keeping them. I could trade them into Gamestop and put the credit towards GTAV.

My problems with SR2 was more that I had to earn respect points to do the story missions and because I created my own character, there was no depth to the character. That and a lot were saying it was so much better than GTAIV, which it wasn't even a quarter as good.

I wish i was more invested in Minecraft. I died and i couldn't find the items i lost so i basically had to start again. Ever since then i couldn't do it.

Beat Saints Row: The Third. The ending was alright, but all in all it isn't something I'd play again. The humor and stuff were good, it's just I think I might've liked it a little more if it had taken itself just a little more seriously. The character customization was excellent though. And the vehicles were great. Especially the STAG stuff.

I'd play it once if you haven't, but then shrug and go play something else.

Yeah it really ruins the fun if you die and lose a ton of crap. Even if I don't die I get sick of playing as soon as I build an awesome sky castle(every time!).

I don't get Minecraft. I've watched people play it, but I just don't see what all of the fuss is about. Creating stuff is cool, but what about plot and character development?

Your in a barren wasteland struggling to survive and forced to build stuff. I don't think character development is something you need in a game like that.

Not every game has to have a story. That's like saying Tetris sucks because there are no characters.

I don't think you quite get the point of Minecraft.
It's a game about creativity, not about following "Steve's journey through this land of cubes and exploding things."
You don't play Minecraft for a narrative. You play Minecraft to build, to create.

What about them...? Those aspects are quite clearly not the draw of Minecraft.

Speaking of, participated in a PvP game last night. Found a fortress on the map. In a ravine! It was awesome. Too bad the four Silk Touch books in there ended up being useless...

Yeah, I never understood the game. The cube world is boring, it looks retro and somehow both fails and succeeds in that regard, there is no end goal, and I find Virtual building is not at all fun like Real building since I like when my creations are tangible.

I'm happy with a DK dinosaur edutainment game from the 90's that I can't play because my computer keeps saying something about "Sound Decompression Software" not being installed properly, thank you.

Seriously though, does any one know how I would fix that?

I feel like i should get back to playing Minecraft but i don't know how to make a treasure chest so i would have backups for my items.

Well, beat BioShock on Hard with no Vita Chambers. The final battle against Fontaine was stupidly easy the second time around. Man, electric gel was some pretty awesome stuff. It maybe took me three minutes.

Don't know when I'll start 2, but it's going to be pretty soon I imagine.
