man I really wanna get an OOOs driver but having to pay insane prices for alot of the medals is a real put off

They shouldn't be over $20 shipped for medal sets, still kinda high, but not too ridiculous.

If I hadn't given up Transformers a few years back I'd be all over these. They look great, but I'm sure the designs would disappoint me somehow :(

I want them both. And Blitzwing is not nearly as bad as some people make him out to be. There's little things you can do to "fix" the problems.

I'm in the same boat. Two years ago I would have been all over them. Now, well... I have 7 Transformers left in my collection.

Tractor, how much did that OOO belt cost you? The cheapest one I have seen has been at least $150, which is way too expensive.

They are really nice.Even Blitzwing.Sure he has problems,but whens the last time we got a really good Blitzwing (sans animated of course).I'm holding out though.Wednesday I'm getting Deifance and sometime after that I'm getting my first Ultra Act Ultraman.Only question is which one.(I like the Hesei era Ultramen,but not sure which one is a good buy)

I like them, they are fun to put together but they take a long time. Right now I have Zero and Schneider built. I would say get Zero first but its all up to you and which ever one looks better to you. There are a lot of parts but when you are done they look great and they are poseable. and of course they are fragileish. Some parts are thin and of course difficult to replace. Also you may want to have super glue handy. Hope that helps a little bit.

I think it was 6000 or 7000 yen on mandarake. The medal sets and holder is what will set you back so much, but once you have them all it's just magic to hear all the combos and their scanning charges.

Totally agree. I don't even remember what I paid for all of it anymore, but I don't care. I have them and that's that. And then I skipped the black medals in favor of an extra TaToBa set.

Well the Korean holder and medals are cheaper.

But the sounds are changed, aren't they? Making the whole thing pointless.

The OOO Scanner is the only thing that has sounds though

exactly,meaning you can get them cheap on ebay easily.

It would stand to reason if you were able to get a Japanese scanner it would scan to Korean medals and make the Japanese sounds. I think I said that right.

But I haven't seen anyone specifically try doing that so there's no real way of knowing, yet.

As long as you have the Japanese scanner you're fine.

The medals have chips in them that activate a certain sound chip in the scanner. The chips are the same, the sounds have just been altered in the scanner. The medals don't contain any actual electronics. It's the scanner that does all the work.

How some people *coughkiryucough* got it in their heads that Korean medals make Korean names come out of a Japanese scanner still makes me giggle. :D

last I looked for medals a DX Tajador set was like $20 per medal

im still hoping for a Complete Selection or a Super Best though that comes with all the medals

Long story short, my best friend just offloaded almost his entire Gundam model collection to my work. But he let me take my pick of some pieces I wanted before he traded them in. These are already built but they are so damn NICE. This collection has reinvigorated my dormant love for all things Gundam and inspired me to try my hand at building kits again.

It doesn't get expensive till you start doing custom kitbashes and paint jobs…trust me. :lol

Starting small with some cheaper Master Grades right now, just in case I goof up. I ordered GM Custom and Rick Dias (Quattro Colors) from Mandarake. Just waiting for order confirmation.

But I'm already eyeing the Re-GZ, Hyaku Shiki, and Victory. Trying not to let this get out of hand. But having been a massive fan of Gundam for the last 15 years it'll be hard to keep from dumping my money into this :lol

Cool! If you want an MG that's on the higher end, and looks really good unpainted, I highly recommend the 00 Raiser. A lot of the more recent MGs have been pretty good, and to me, feel a lot better (plastic wise) than the SEED Destiny kits. I haven't built any PGs, but from what I've seen...they're more display peices than anything else. For example: With the PG 00 Raiser, you need to push buttons to move the joints.

I suggest getting a few of the high grade Kits from AGE since they're just as posable as the O Gundam you bought.

I had considered that but I really don't care much for the Age designs nor the 1/144 scale. Found a few HGUC's I like and I'm going to order though.

The Age-1 1/144th scale is fantastic.Very posable and a unique build.

I've been an avid fans for the last 15 years. Only having fallen out after OO ended. Never built the models before but I'm already developing a huge appreciation and love for them.

You HAVE to get a real grade! They're some of the best kits you can get right now in my opinion.

oh I love the 00 kits, 00 Raiser was my first kit a few years ago,

actually you or anyone else who I interested, I have a bunch of 00 kits built that I am kinda not wanting to let sit on my shelf for anymore, so anyone who is interested, lmk :lol

My buddy who gave me these, Moonbasetom, had a few real grades (RX-78 and Zaku II). I just hate the scale. They might be nice kits but for me it's all about size first, engineering second. So Master Grades when and where appropriate feel like the way to go. For suits that only have HG's or HGUC's I'm willing to settle though. Like the Blue Destiny units :D
I don't dislike the kits necessarily. I just haven't watched anything since OO ended. That's when my toku interests really grew. I'm planning to suspend any toku viewings right now and hit up Unicorn!
