Thanks for the compliment. :) If you want suggestions on what to watch we can suggest stuff in the What are you watching? threads for Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and other Toku shows, respectively. Tokunation members would be killing each other to suggest and recommend shows. :lol

:D Hello. Im a long time lurker but... coming out of my teeny tiny shell. I have been a toku fan since I was a little kiddo. Of course it started when I saw Power Rangers for the first time back in the 3rd grade. I also grew up with my big bro so I was always the weirdo girl with a love for robots, comics and imports from the East. Of course, I am also a lady so I have my girly likes of ponies disney and all things glittery, magical and sparkly.

I remember growing up I always had claim on the pink ranger lol. So I grew and grew from a tiny little speck to a glittery amoeba and here I am years later loving Super Sentai. I have to admit I am not up to speed with Kamen Rider but I am trying.

My older sister always asks me why I am such a kid and love sentai. I look at her with my raccoon eyes and I say COME ON? WHO DIDNT DREAM ABOUT BEING A SUPER HERO THAT CAN KICK BUTT?

But honestly sentai holds a special place in my heart. NEVER GIVE UP NEVER SURRENDER and a million and one other things that my fingers are too tired to type right now. Poor little guys.

Wowowwowoowww I sound so nuts. I am though so don't worry. My screws and bolts are scattered all over the place. I am a cyborg you know. I just wanted to say hi hi and come out of lurkdom. A girl can get bored when she doesn't socialize enough you know lol.

I'm more of a Power Ranger fan than I am Sentai, the three things that hold me back from sentai is the culture shock, the inferior tech with like cameras editing etc and all those PR fans who go on to watch Sentai and then become arsehole elitists, I don't wanna be that guy!

The only Kamen Rider series I have seen is the American adaptation, Dragon Knight and I absolutely adore that series. I've tried to get into Kamen Rider but the continuity confuses the pants off of me and everyone told me to start with W...but I didn't like it.

So yeah, Toku and Locke.

I have to agree with you I can't stand fans that are just so totally stuck on side and tend to have the holier than thou attitude. But then again I can't really stand that type of attitude regardless of the situation. I love both PR and SS equally!! I think we all just need to love love loveeeeeeeeeee that is all.

I have only seen bits and pieces of Kamen Rider and although I enjoy what I see I seriously don't know wtf is going on because I am just a casual watcher.

It's best to start with an older series, with most of the Heisei Era shows being independent from one another. Personally, I'd recommend starting with Kamen Rider W, since I started with that and have been a fan since, but there are other series that may better cater to your preferences.

Yeah I love how people think they are so mature and grown up because they went from Power Rangers to sentai, it's still a show for children about dudes in spandex fighting with cardboard weapons against rubber suits, how can you act like you're better than me for sticking with Power Rangers, you on crack?

Watch Dragon Knight! It's an American adaptation so there is no continuity issues, plus it's really really good.

What series have you been trying? Like KRX says pretty much every Heisei series is independent from each other so there aren't really many continuity issues anyway.

I was told to start with W, watched the first ten episodes and really couldn't get into it.

Never give up.
Each series has a drastically different tone, theme, and feeling.
Just because you couldn't get into one doesn't mean you wouldn't like another!

No but because I don't know how the continuity works, I didn't know where I was meant to go next.

I wish that I had seen this thread earlier. Hi everyone, my named is Valerie. I am 33 years old and live in Oklahoma. I have been a huge fan of Power Rangers since I was 14 years old but mainly loved MMPR. My favorite Rangers are Tommy and Kimberly from MMPR, Kira from Dino Thunder, and Andros from In Space. Honestly, I love Tommy from any season that he was in and they can have Tommy on 1,000 times and I honestly wouldn't care. Actually I would probably freak out every time he was on.
