Does anyone know if they made an easy to put together model of The O? I would really like that to be the first Gundam Model I try putting together.

As a whole, Gundam models are pretty simple to put together.

Yeah they make the instructions pretty easy to follow, even if you don't read Japanese.

I'll say the only difficult thing is trimming tiny parts, especially on figures with intricate designs like the Master Grade Unicorn. The instructions are a breeze. You just need to be kinda handy with an exacto blade, spend several hours on small kits, and possibly a few days on larger kits. I spread the build of my Psycho Gundam around 7 hours across 3 days.

As for Sentais' question there are both HGUC and MG kits of The O.

I find that Gunpla as a hobby only really gets difficult once you dive into the more advanced techniques. Seam line removal, painting ETC.

Painting is only difficult if you don't have a steady hand.

Though I do want to eventually invest in an airbrush set up.

I think there is an old 1/144 that might not be too hard to come by.

BTW anyone know if the 1/144 HG Exia is more poseable than the Robot Damashii figure? Also why no love for the repair mode? Seems like only the MG, SDCC 1/144, and SHCMpro DX have repair mode 1 with the cape.

I have both the regular, Avalanche, and R2 versions of the Exia they're okay, but not as good as the 00 Gundam or the AGE high grades. While my experience with Robot Damashi has been somewhat limited, I can tell you that the line is basically S.H.Figuarts for robots.

How is the Avalanche? I've bee kind of wanting to get it. Also, does anyone know if the 00 HGs are compatible with the AGE HGs (not including Vagan suits of course).

The Suit itself does nothing spectacular in the anime but I loved how very Kampfer+Gelgoog like the design has. And heck, this thing was way overdue.

I've seen people kitbash 00 and AGE Suits with some pretty cool results, though I'm not really sure how much modification is needed to really make it work. Best I can suggest is taking a look at the manuals and seeing how all the parts connect together.

So I was right with my suspicion that the Movable Armor on the MG3 RX-78 was influenced by the same gimmick on the SHCMpro. The SHCM was a good line, I think it didn't last long because the Unicorn came with a lot of parts and while I understand the price increase; they were expensive pre-built models.

For the price of 1 SHCMpro you could probably get 3-4 HGUC models. Or a much larger MG. Plus for toys, there was Robot Damashii SIDE MS, Kidou Senshi, Gundam FIX, et al.

I think SHCMpro catered to the 80's HCM fans who wanted a modernized HCM that was more articulated. That's exactly what they got. Heh, the RG 1/144 RX78 looks like a buildable version of the SHCMpro.

I know my kitbash experience is somewhat limited, but if you need advise on how to combine stuff together then hit me up with a message.

I'd also suggest getting some tamiya cement or putty just in case.

You know it's funny. The AEUG and then Federation spent years developing a transformable mobile suit project that was cost effective, starting with the original Delta Gundam Eventually it resulted in the Zeta & ZZ and all of the variants in between. But making a truly cost effective mass production suit based on the Zeta series never quite panned out since everything was either one-off or limited production runs The FAZZ, Zeta C1, Re-GZ, ZII, ReZel, Delta Kai, Z Rapier, etc.

It's funny because the perfect mass production suit that combined the best elements of the Zeta and ZZ projects was in fact made by Neo Zeon. The Bawoo. Seeing as it was built based on stolen designs of the Zeta Machines, incorporates the top and bottom fighter concept introduced by the ZZ, and it's upper half is almost a dead ringer for the Zeta, it wins. It's the most cost effective and versatile of all the attempted Zeta MP's.

I have a few SHCMpros. Should've bought the DX Exia at Otakon 2010 or 09. It has repair mode parts!

Any of you buy the smaller HCMpro line? I want to hear feedback. That line didn't last as long as other lines but lasted longer than SHCMpro. I think the small size is what ultimately killed it. I heard good things about the material(ABS plastic predominantly whereas MSiA! was predominantly PVC).

Now see, if you would'v e said Quatro I would've known!

Sazabi. It had the power, the manuverability, the look. He could do things in that Suit that he only dreamed of in his Zaku, Gelgoog, or even Zeong. That Crimson Death was so strong it didn't even need Funnels.

Amuro's has to be the original Gundam. Look at everything he did with such a basic tuned Mobile Suit. He basically overthrew Zeon by himself in one Mobile Suit. He stood toe to toe with Zeon's Ace, he defeated countless Mobile Armors. it's a classic for a reason.

Re-GZ for Amuro. Based solely on the fact that it's an incredible one off design based on one of the greatest Gundams in UC continuity. And the half transformation it has with it's weapons platform makes it highly versatile.

Hykau Shiki for Char (Quattro). Because of dat gold armor.

Amuro is an easy pick,the Hi Nu Gundam

As for Char,I have to say his Zaku custom.Sure he's had more powerful suits,but he was not only more feared in the Zaku but also earned his nickname in it.

Oooooh...I don't know anything about that Mobile Suit, but it's gorgeous. I don't collect Robot Damashii, but I might get this. When is it due out? Does it have a model kit? I would love an MG.

Only kit release that I'm aware of is a resin kit in 1/144.
