This is probably the most vanilla theme and suit design possible. I don't see a single cultural conflict with trains. The "Shinkenger is too Japanese" argument may have had a little bearing, but saying that the suits are too dull for America is just off.

I hated the Go-Busters suits for example, they looked nothing like sentai suits but they also somehow managed to look amazingly bland at the same time. But then all the little details began to stick out and I grew to appreciate them a lot.

I'm not saying that that will be the case here, these Train suits are as equally ugly as they are cheap looking, but I'm going to give it a few in motion episodes to cast judgement.

While it's irresponsible not to give it a chance, I just don't have very high hopes for the suits in motion :lol

That actually might be to the series advantage, though. Such a crappy first impression leaves my opinion so low that even an average set of episodes might be enough to draw me in :lol

I know you were only joking, but I'm personally a little gutted. Kyoryuger sucks so I was so hyped to start fresh with a new sentai...and then we get this shit.

If there's one thing good about Saban, it's marketing. Didn't you see how they totally marketed Samurai and Megaforce to be the most epic things ever, complete with loud rock music in the background? They'll make Tokkyuger look epic and exciting with a bunch of tricks up their sleeves.

And if there's one thing that Nick can do, it's anti-hype, by creating such a gigantic airing gap between the series before it and this, by having dull one note commercials leading up to the series that it's pilot airing will still catch you off guard, and only air a handful of episodes before cutting it in half and airing the remainder of the season later.

Saban can market the hell out of the series, but it doesn't mean Nick won't do it's absolute best to make sure they drive it into the ground.

Really sad about the Nick situation.

I don't see why we are even bothering to talk about the PR version when the PR adaptation won't be until 2019.

It seems there's a bit of suit detail I didn't notice earlier. Notice that at the shoulders, there's a little bit that pops out, looking like really short sleeves? In that image it's more prominent on Green.

Man that image makes the suits look even worse. A big solid block of colour, a barely visible silver trim on the boots and gloves, stupid Dairanger flaps, the pathetic chest detail, the stupidly bulky morpher thing and those ugly ass helmets.

They look like a comedy superhero from the early 1940s, and in the worst way possible.

I'm still trying to bring myself to like the suits :lol

Those suit actors really do not fill those suits out. Here's hoping this is a case of "Get some guys in for the promo material. We'll sort it out later." After all suit actors have been known to change in the past......

Still, that shoulder detail really helps the design. If everything weren't so baggy I'd be 100% happy. Not estactic. Just happy.

They do like nice. A pity they combine into that thing.

Hopefully we get actual rolling wheels. Would be cool if each "box" came with a couple pieces of track as well.

Still hoping that at least ONE of the trains we haven't seen is a freighter. The Tank and Car Carriers just aren't enough for me.

I've noticed that this would work more easily with the ZordBuilder system than Go-Busters or Kyoryuger. Pink and Yellow wouldn't require much changing, while Blue and Green just need to have the locomotive piece detach.

I think BoA and BoJ are starting to communicate more.

If so, to the detriment of the JP toys. I don't buy the US releases anymore specifically because I feel the zord builder stuff (however much "playability" it adds for kids) cheapens what I like about the zords in the first place.

How so?

Something in my head just *clicks* when I see a properly thought-out zord/mecha combination. You know how you see a zord/mecha early on and notice bits on it that "could be" for other things? Then something else comes along and combines fluidly with it? That "just works" for me.

On the flip side, making everything painted hunks of plastic with pegs and holes all over the place feels too disjointed and more like legos than a cohesive toy line. Sure, there's more playability for making giant crazy combinations, but for me, it's just a cheap-looking mess. Don't even get me started on the idea of bikes for arms -_-

I don't think it's just for kids. There are countless members on this board, infact there's a whole thread dedicated to it, who use ZordBuilder to make their own Megazords.

I'm aware, and I've seen the threads. I usually shake my head when I see the combinations. But I guess it's like ice cream, some like Vanilla, some Chocolate, some Sprinkles and some not...

To each their own, but I was asked why I didn't like/buy the Zordbuilder products, and that's my reasoning.

Really liking the cast. They all look like they would fit the informations we already have about the characters.

And it seems like its going to be a trend from now on that Blue is alot older than the rest of the team

Cast looks to be solid, but I'd really like to see them in action. I do think the suit actors for Red and Blue should be switched (like in Goseiger) because Red doesn't look like a particularly tall person, but maybe I'll need to see more of it to know.

EDIT: Seems that Red is not quite as short as I imagined.

The newest pics that look like they are from the episode are a lot better.
