Maybe in the next wave they'll do some acoustics and, hopefully, sneak in a keytar. :D

Glad to see this thread up& running again.

So i saw these pepatama effect pieces on twitter and bought two sets to try out. I assumed they were pre cut but its actually they are just printed thin card stock you have to cut out yourself and glue together. It's actually really tedious cutting these out, but I do like how they look, especially compared to the regular tamashii crater effects. Also bought some dust effects but haven't assembled them yet.

Those definitely are a lot more eyecatching. Have you tried them in conjunction with the impact effects?

Also built the shockwave ones which aren't as nice as the explosions but are still pretty neat. I might get another set of explosions to have have around but one set of shock waves is probably enough for me http://i.imgur.com/2eleRR7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CdHYfQT.jpg |
i keep buying these stupid things and they keep disappointing me. at least the little armory shot guns are a step up, the full sized one still has a stock thats waaaaaay to long and can barely be held at the shoulder, but the other two at least finally work pretty well.

I see what you mean, but from a purely spectator standpoint, they look nice with the figures.
Also, I missed the December posts somehow. Those pepatama effects look pretty neat. I wonder how the company makes a profit. People could just buy a set and then duplicate them at home. Still, they make for nice additions to pics! |
yeah, i think they are all supposed to be accurate to scale, but its a little annoying when specifically market them for mostly figmas and half of them just don't really fit. weirdly, i'm wondering what a true 1/12 scale figure is, as the shotguns a bit small on the RO stormstrooper SHF.
Also built the vector, which is pretty good for the most part, the foregrips a little thick for most hands and i really do wish it came with at least some kind of holo sight or scope. http://i.imgur.com/sZtWMYN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fP9pb9V.jpg |
Has anyone had any experience with these pop-up dioramas? I just got an email about them from BBTS and was curious if they were worth the investment.
|
I know a couple people with them, they are pretty cool but I think you have to buy the floor tiles separately and not all the sets have floors yet or something? I would get some, but I'm not really into the dark and gritty look of them. I'd be all for a clean subway platform for my 1/12 train interior but I don't want it to look like a 80s NYC subway stop. I think these are really popular with those articulated comic book dicks though, and the price seems pretty reasonable for how big they are.

It's what I call these crazy ACBA people that take all the pics with speech bubble cut outsz. They are pretty cultish.

Why the hell they went and made a storage case this month's sole announcement is beyond me. They're toying with me at this point and it's irritating. |
So the re-ment snack bar set is pretty great. The booth/table seem too small but I'm pretty sure thats just the style of couch they are using, i remember sleeping on a similar one camping out for wonfes. I ended up ordering a second set to expand the set, but it's got some great accessories.

It looks like Little Armory is releasing a shooting range set. I can imagine someone like G3-X would look good in here. |

so the 1/12 honda gyro dropped to about 36 on amazon so I had to pick one up. Sadly they only had the alsok one. Fits figmas really well, but rider SHFs are a tad too tall because of their helmets. Drive just baaaaaaarely fits.

I've been looking for a gong or drum to go with SHF SS Hibiki, without much success
but a recent google search turned up THIS website: https://www.mountainminiatures.com/music/ Good news: https://www.mountainminiatures.com/images/P/z415a.jpg https://www.mountainminiatures.com/images/P/pl506r.jpg Both look pretty good, although obvious not show accurate by any stretch. I think the aesthetic matches bad news: $54 for the gong $14 for the drum I understand why, it appears to be handmade by a small outlet but ugh |
