Thats not really what I would call good articulation. Especially cause most of that came from the way those mecha transformed.

Those BOA style figures are definitely a pass, but the more I see of Shurikenjin the more excited I get for it. I honestly don't remember the last time I've cared this much about a Sentai series.

From what it looks like Paonmaru is made up of the elephant's head, it's front legs, and giant shuriken (that also has a unique head, rather than just the shuriken swapping from the main mech), and it's back legs. The elephant head and front legs make a small robot, and the back legs make a pair of cannons on it's shoulders. The combined form removes the yellow arm, replacing red with it, and inserts the elephant robot in the chest. The two back legs become a pair of swords, and the mech gets a completely new head.

UFOmaru on the other hand, is three pieces. The small robot, the middle gun section, and the shuriken on top. Everything else is rather self explanatory.

I'm really surprised the Elemental Shuriken isn't in a two pack with Momoranger's. Also it seems that the base Shurikenjin may only have two combinations instead of five. Oh well.

I didn't know BoA was making Ninninger toys.

Wait a minute, the UFOmaru combo has the mini mech look like it's piloting Shurikenjin like a giant power loader? That's just cool.

Concerning The BOA like figs maybe the normal figures BOJ sells have dismal sales through out the years while the BOA figures did well in US markets so maybe they are trying out the BOA style to gather mare sales for the figure line. Granted this is a speculation as I do not know the sales numbers for the toys

I guess, but I think the main reason the TQG figures didn't sell well was due too the popular of the show at the time, and because the gimmick didn't translate too well to the toys.

Given that Sentai stopped having proper action figures for half a decade, I'd imagine that's a pretty safe bet. Making something cheaper is certainly liable to help sales, but don't try explaining that to the Sentai purists.

At any rate, I'm digging the Ninninger stuff a fair bit. I'm in the weird position of really liking ToQ-Oh, so Shurikenjin isn't clicking with me as much as it should.
Other than that though, it looks fun. Can't wait to see videos of them.

Was that really necessary? It has nothing to do with Sentai purism so don't bring that drama in here. It has to do with those being awful toys. The BOA 5" line is pathetic and releasing something like that in Japan when just this year we had Norikae Change ToQgers, kind of sucks. It's sad to see BOJ begin to make toys similar in quality to BOA. I know BOA figs have their collector's, but I honestly do not understand a regression in quality and design like that.

Those Zords are wacky and still pretty awesome to totally work!

They weren't that bad in all honesty. So it shocks me they'd be replaced by such mediocre figures by comparison. They had multiple points of articulation, a ton of accessories, and a working number change gimmick in the chests and helmets. These new figures for Ninninger aren't much cheaper either, only by a couple hundred yen. So it makes the change over all the more confusing to me.

OK, I see it all but I still don't know what to think... A dog, an elephant, a dump truck, a train, an u.f.o, a frog-gun... All of this could be either totally awesome or incredibly stupid!!
For now, the uniforms are what I like the most, very very cool!

That toyline is so insane, I love it. The only thing I really dislike is the BoA-Body for the action figures. But oh well, I'm usually collecting Sofubis and S.H. Figuarts, so I could care less.

Both auxiliaries look awesome, for the first time ever, I have nothing I dislike or am meh about in the initial set of DX mecha!

I may be in the minority here, but I actually love Toqger and it's one of my favorites. Even though the mechs were blocky as hell they were streamlined, the final form is one of the least cluttered in the franchise. I really like Shurikenjin but it's already cluttered as hell. I'm hoping the final form isn't a disgusting abomination like Samurai Ha-oh.

The dog couldn't come in of course, it was tied up outside.

Nothing disappoints me more that this to be honest. I love the mecha, and the initial idea that all five would have different heads and/or formations was promising. Only having two, without counting the aux mecha, is kinda lame. That being said, this already has more playability than most mecha I own and the aux mecha add to that. I'm all in on this.
