What you guys would do if you were charge of the franchise ?

I know it's a bit late but I'd reboot it. I know that's not the popular answer but Power Rangers, like comic books, has sort of reached the point where continuity is just so heavy. While the "stand alone" nature of new series minimizes that it's still an issue. Just see the legend war scene from the end of Super Megaforce. There's a lot there. I'm not saying I'd end the ongoing continuity but I'd split it up. Keep the ongoing continuity for television with a reliance on sentai while using films to reboot things back to MMPR and go from there with 100% original footage.

Power Rangers biggest issue with continuity is that they haven't figured out what to do with it. They had a constant universe through Wild Force - we saw that with "Forever Red". Ninja Storm looked to be a franchise reboot until Dino Thunder with Tommy and the whole Ninja Storm team up. SPD gave us the "oh, it's in the future" bit and their Dino Thunder team up kind of cemented them in continuity.

After that it's up in the air. There's nothing (really) from Mystic Force through RPM that ties those series to continuity - especially with RPM.

Samurai brought it back with Bulk and Skull (and Spike, I guess), and Megaforce/Super Megaforce did so with the Legendary War though with zero explanation for a lot of it (although they kept the whole RPM in a separate universe thing that Samurai started intact).

Dino Charge will depend on whether or not they do the MMPR/Dino Thunder team up. if they do then yes I'd call it continuity. However, very loosely. You'd think a giant war (twice, In Space and Super Megaforce) would be referenced but it never is, ever.

I think I'd do something crazy and try to get rights to do a crossover between PR and SS... I dunno...

Didn't Once a Ranger from Overdrive tie Mystic Force and Overdrive into the whole thing? From there the only two outliers are Jungle Fury and RPM, and we know the latter is an alternate universe.

I agree, it's all VERY loose and wish-washy. My biggest issue with Power Rangers continuity is that they're lukewarm with how they deal with it.
The general feeling I get (and this goes for both Disney and Saban) is that they don't want things to be overly referential, as that could potentially alienate the kids.
If that's the case, ok. Cool. Then commit to making each series a stand-alone universe. Problem is they keep referencing the past despite not being overly-referential. So you end up with a franchise where each new series seems standalone in almost every way but which...isn't. Each new threat is the single biggest threat to ever face the Earth, yet it also exists where the Earth has, at least twice, been in the cross-hairs of an invading alien armada.

Not to mention what will happen in ten years if Power Rangers is still going. Isn't 2025 the year SPD was supposed to take place? That'll get...interesting.

Didn't "Once A Ranger" tie in, MMPR, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, and Mystic Force...? I can't think of who the fifth character that came in was. -_-'

The best thing for Power Rangers to do at this point is either to celebrate the continuity by tying it together (a simple one-liner from Kendall saying "When I did an internship at Reefside with a rather enthusiastic paleontologist and his assistant" and BAM!) or to sever it entirely with something like "You're the first Power Rangers, the world has to get used to you" or something akin to that.

BAM! Problem solved either way. A simple one-line of dialogue and the show is either in or out of continuity.

In the Power Rangers canon, who is the original Red Ranger? I assume its either Andros, because Zordon knew him and while MMPR was happening on Earth, Andros was fighting the Evil Alliance in Space. Or the Red Aquitar Ranger. I don't know/remember much about him.

While Andros & Shane were in Space, did the Aquitar Rangers help them out?

Well, Zordon is said to be an ancient wizard, right? So the era of rangers likely extends far earlier than we know. Additionally, seeing as how Ninjor made the power coins, he may had made a set of rangers long before Zordon got them.
So while Andros may have been a ranger long before Jason got the powers, he might not have been the first, either.

It contradicts itself. Zordon implies that the original MMPR team is the first he's had to recruit in centuries, and then talks about Andros and such. And about Andros, Shane, and the Water-Logged Rangers.. No clue.

Considering how I feel that a Gaim adaptation could easily turn Oren into a female character, I'd say they could make a very feminine male character and wear skirted spandex solely to have Saban make him a her.

No, you're a little off. Typically, male rangers and changed to female as they change from Sentai to Power Ranger.

Well no then. Otherwise PR would be ahead of the Sentai and the whole system would crash like a college student after midterms.

Let us not forget the episode where Kimberly got sent back to the wild west era and met the ancestors of the rangers, who just so happen to look exactly like the current team. Zordon made them Rangers due to the threat caused by Zedd sending Kim back along with a Cactus monster, I think it was a cactus monster. So essentially you could say that Rocky's ancestor was the first Earthen Red Ranger.

It would be cool if Ninjor comes back for the Ninninger adaptation and is their mentor.

Considering Samurai says that their ancestors have been around for 17 generations before them, if any of them were rangers, they could presumably be the first. Assuming Zordon didn't have any rangers with him in the ancient war, the Lost Galaxy Rangers weren't just the second team of those, and that Eric and Wes travelling back in time to 65 million BC doesn't count :p
