I think we're fine on villains for now.
if we need to add stuff we can always go back and add more. |
We haven't agreed on the delivery of the Villains yet. SO LET'S GET BACK TO THE VILLAINS!!
Let's get back to villains, I agree. We are constantly jumping subjects. What do you guys think of my idea for the villains?
On the schedule I posted on page 23 for this project I said let's do the henshin device after the villains, but I think it'd be better to do the collectible device before because it'll help us with the design of the belt. Just wanted to put that out there. |
What about my idea for the villains, Helios?
but what even is the Rider's power though? we can't just create a whole villan backstory and not intertwine it to the rider somehow.
also, my idea is still up in the air nobody said anything about it so I'll just leave it again Quote:
Actually yes we can. Once we discern the Villains stuff, we can think of a way that the Riders power counters it.

That whole first quote. It has a couple of ideas. |
Let me try to sum this up: mutant zombie dinosaurs. Sounds cool. I think their goal should be trying to reclaim Earth after their "extinction"
and we could have it where they were actually defeated by ancient humans back in the past and have a personal grudge against humanity in general.
as they were a natural evolution of dinosaurs, whereas humans are natural evolution of mammals, and the extinct believe that they should be the ones who inherited the earth. |

Okay...Let's combine these two ideas. Ancient Humans defeat the Dinosaur beings. Their grudge semi-preserves/reanimates them. This grudge being a spiritual thing is what gives them the mystical/magical aspect and also allows them to assume a somewhat humanoid form. |
To keep it scientifically accurate, dinosaurs didn't exist along with humans. Let's say they wake up after being hit by a meteor and find these puny little creatures acting like they own the earth (humans in pov of the Extinct) and want to take back their position as the strongest creatures on earth.
That's why I said "Dinosaur beings".
How about when the dinosaurs were hit by the meteor, the radioactivity from the meteor mutated them while also putting them in a slumber.
Okay. That explains the evolution. Then they wake up and fight against ancient humans, lose, grudge semi-preserves, and reanimates them. There's the mystical aspect.
I don't really want to include humans in this. It's not really accurate.
And aliens that enter a humans body, copies their personalities, kills them, and takes their place is? That's what the Worms in Kabuto do, correct?
I thought we had agreed that the villains were magical/mystical? Their grudge against the humans would be the most logical reason for such a thing. Besides, this is a work of science-fiction and fantasy. Accuracy goes right out the window, mostly, when these two genres are involved together. |
Magical meteor maybe?
what about that dinosaurs were the original inhabitants of earth until ancient aliens (human) killed them all via meteor to take the word for themselves. then generations later feeling guilty about what they did they hid the events as evolution while not knowing that surviving descendants of the dinosaurs are plotting to get back their planet.
thought about this while watching ancient aliens :) |
Let's just say they were "wiped out" by aliens millions of years ago. Now they have risen again. The alien's accidentally mutate them while attempting to kill them and that mutation allowed them to survive in a hibernation state. Last post for the day, I'm off to bed. I'll reply to anything in the morning.
So...we're ditching the magical aspect?
the dinosaurs can use magic
but they're brought to life by aliens?
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why do we have to involve aliens at all? or even mutation for that matter. Why complicate things or give them any more reason for motive by forming grudges? They were the rulers of the earth, disappeared, and now humanity has taken their place. They just want to return to their former glory by eradicating the new life that stands in their way. From their point of view, I'd imagine that would be all the motive they'd need.
Well yeah but why would they disappear and why did they chose to destroy humans than co exist with them? I don't have anything against the typical genocidal villain but I think its better to have villains that have logical or sympathetic motives.
Or we could divide the story's kaijin into those who want humans gone and those who are fine with sharing the earth with them and maybe have humans stuck between a war of both sides. |
Completely forget about my idea about aliens, they have nothing to do with magic. We need to get back in to a magic theme.
Maybe, millions of years ago, there was a race that were the predecessors of modern humans. They looked like us, but were not completely evolved. This race included the Shaman. The Shaman led that race in a fight to get rid of the dinosaurs. He used his magic to put them in eternal hibernation, but to the that he had to sacrifice himself and he ended up in a state of hibernation also. After millions of years, the Shaman and the Extinct (what they're called now) wake up because the Shaman's spell broke, but have transformed. The Wxtinct now want to destroy the descendants of their enemies, the modern day humans. The Shaman is found by the museum and he aids them and Ray.
And bacng villain back story formed and since the Shaman helps the museum the belt can have that magical power source while still being technologically based.
Maybe later on as say the mid season upgrade he could attain a shaman like form giving him access to the mystical aspect then the final form could represent the fusion of magic and tech |

I think some of the villains siding with humanity and Paleo himself might be interesting. That's where the secondary rider(s) could come in. To screw everything up. Maybe in a similar fashion to how the shaman created the basis of the Paleo Driver, the Extinct with evil intentions create a driver and use a selected human of their own to wipe out the ones who are helping their enemy. |
Maybe throw some sly Omnivores into the mix to stir things up as they faction change regularly
I dunno. I kinda liked what Helios described.
considering there's also a power structure among the Extinct already and working the shaman in as the almost mentor character, it's pretty solid. I also like them having a more primitive motive than one that's complicated for something that's supposed to be a group of dinosaur people. |
Have we decided on the villain then? Let's see what GreenPsychoRanger has to say and if he's cool with it, I think we're good with basic idea then we could work on each villain individually.
All honesty, I've lost track of the villain arch...
Accidental double post. Please delete.
Well honestly, let's think about the outcome of this project. Once all is said and done everything we'll have come up with here is nothing more than an idea with some fancy fan art. I don't think all of the details need to be set in stone or even laid out. We've all got a general concept in our heads as to what these creatures are: Skeletal Dino Monsters called The Extinct who mean bad news. And at this point in time that's all we need.
Let's me sum it up
The villains are skeletal dinosaur monsters. The generals are stronger and there is a aquatic one, carnivorous one, herbivorous one, and omnivorous one. The leader is a fusion of different dinosaurs. They were defeated by the predecessors of the human race who were led by the Shaman using magic. The dinosaurs woke up after millions of years because the hibernation spell faded off. The magic of the Shaman caused the dinosaurs to mutate. The Shaman died trying to save the ancient humans. Now the Extinct want to take back their spot as the strongest race on Earth by killing the modern humans. I decided to get rid of the Shaman in modern day. Let's say he died millions of years ago. If we include him, then the whole tech aspect of the rider will be gone and it will be magic vs magic. |
I personally don't know what to do anymore right now. I'm just ready to do more brainstorming on designs and whatnot.
Let's just go with that idea for the villains and move on. It's getting confusing so we should move on.
Alrighty. So what's the next step? Transformation System?
