Well, for Pit, it wouldn't make sense for him to call upon Palutena now that she's playable...Kirby's was perfectly fine as it was, though.
I'm glad they made the timing a little better so I don't look like I'm completely shit with it, but I really wish there was something more for DK's. Call upon the rhino and start rampaging through stages. Have Funky do an aerial raid. Something more interesting than a bongo...

Anyway, I'm more disappointed that there isn't going to be a story at all. Subspace Emissary wasn't going to win story of the year, but it was fun to play through...

Well, I wouldn't say he threw it out the window. If he did we'd get Waddle Dee, Mr. Shine, Mr. Bright, and Hades as playable characters, and he'd take out every Pokémon as well. Out of every Smah game only 5 of his characters have got in, as opposed to the 8 Pokémon we've gotten over the years.

But Pokemon are Nintendo's top selling franchise and have by far the most move-pool potential of any set of characters ever. Neither of Sakurai's franchises could support that much representation even if he tried.

Kirby is definitely very loved by some, but Kirby, Meta Knight and Dedede are the only truly recognizable and well known characters in the series. Adding in more would just be totally unnecessary and a little difficult. Meanwhile, Kid Icarus only has three games (one of which even Nintendo forgets exists) and they're... OK. I don't think Kid Icarus: Uprising sold very well (although I may be mistaken) and it definitely isn't something that should be getting as much representation as it is. Two characters, two stages, five items and on top of that apparently the most representation in the Smash Run. I mention Metroid a lot but it is one of Nintendo's big names alongside Mario, Pokemon and Zelda and its currently sitting at two characters (Both the same character), one item, one stage. It just seems a bit lopsided and the choices definitely seem to be leaning towards Kid Icarus above anyone else.

There's always been a lot of noticeable favouritism in Smash Bros since Brawl. Subspace Emissary should've been named "Kirby and Dedede save the Nintendo universes! Special Cameos by some Nintendo characters!"

But in the end just give me Ridley, give me all the necessary veterans, give me some new non-Icarus, non-Kirby items and then maybe the favouritism will be less apparent. Sadly I don't think Ridley's going to happen and I think that's insanely stupid, especially considering Dark Samus is clearly not happening either.

and Bayonetta will likely never get in, we have 4 guest characters. That's more than enough, and she isn't exactly family friendly; all of her most powerful moves require her to be naked.

So if i'm understanding what they're doing with revealing characters, Luigi, Sonic, Megaman and Pacman are the only secret characters revealed?

But he did throw it out the window as evidenced by what I said. He didn't make it absolutely ridiculous but the favouritism is still obviously there.

As for Bayonetta, they made Snake family friendly, I don't see why they can't do the same for Bayonetta. They could easily get around showing her naked body and even without effort the whole thing is for parody rather then sexiness, you don't actually see anything outside of that creepy totally-missed-the-point anime adaptation. She makes sense as a character, her potential for Special Attacks, Smash Attacks and Final Smashes are virtually limitless and they should be advertising their new game, especially considering Nintendo's apparently put a lot of money into making sure it happens. Does Sonic really count as a guest at this point anyway? He's now exclusively Nintendo and he's had closer ties to Nintendo then the other of the Big 3 for a long time since.

I also doubt she'd get in, but she's still deserving and it'd be awesome if it did happen, no matter or tiny the chance.

but it's not from one of the mainline Mega Man games...I don't even think we'll get any songs from Mega Man X.

I'm thinking at least 1/4 of the songs are coming from Mega Man 2; the franchise's sacred cow as Jade Pharaoh refers it too.

It must be noted that the MM Series is well known for its music so I can't imagine how hard it must be picking tracks that both fit the stage and people will like.

Hate to revive this but I wanted to talk about the Move Editor.

It's just locally or when playing with friends online, but you can change your character's B Moves in order to fit your playstyle. So far only Mario has all his known options listed in the SSBWiki and I was wondering if and how you'll use this feature.

This promises to be something great. I'm really looking forward to using Mario's Fast Fireball and the Scalding F.L.U.D.D though not having Mario Tornado as a Down B option is still hurting my Mario play.(and yes I did try Project M but after it froze my Wii I gave up on it)

So a new character is gonna be announced on Monday. I'm hoping for Shulk.
