Finally got around to watching episode 15. This show is just too good, man. Can't wait for the next one.
|
Yeah, it was definitely great but man, next week is when shit gets real.
Belial's about to kick ass and chew bubblegum, but the later is impossible since his mouth is molded shut! |

So it's actually good, eh?
Compared to Orb? |

Then they probably tried working with it, found the results to lackluster or had issues with the suit and thus the mechanic was dropped. |

The concept of an Ultraman moving his mouth is something that the franchise has tried a couple of times, the most notable examples I can think of is the Type A mask for the original Ultraman and Ultraman Zearth.

The idea of an Ultraman opening their mouth is an interesting idea in theory I suppose but I'm not exactly disappointed it hasn't really stuck. Their humanoid appearance and brightly colored eyes are more then enough for most people to project human emotions and feelings onto the Ultramen despite clearly being alien but a mouth, while certainly a welcomed addition when permanently closed, that always opened when they talk would shoot them straight into uncanny valley.
Its kind of understandable why they did something like that with Belial and Zearth though, since its kind of fitting their motifs, as well as Ultraman Mask Type A, since it was their first time. |
A little OT, but it's confirmed that Ultraman Geed's actor, Tatsuomi Hamada will be in the live action adaptation of ONE's Mob Psycho 100. To those who don't know ONE, he's the artist and creator of One Punch Man.

So decided to finally start watching Geed since I had basically seen everything Zero was in aside from that one Ginga Movie.
Anyway I watched up to Acro Smashers debut and holy heck, I love this main cast, their all likeable and they bounce off each other fairly well. Also nice to see a more mellowed out Zero, it's so interesting seeing the journey's he taken so far. Also his interactions with Leito as well as the actors performance is really great. That being said Zero may be mellowed out but dang it he's still got a bit of that hot blooded nature left in him. Also Belial, ooh boy, can't wait to see where things go with him, though considering all the excitement on my twitter feed, apparently he shows up this week. All the more reason to catch up faster. But yeah, poor Riku, his first two fights are with Skull Gomora, which is a combination of Red King and Gomora. Not exactly pushovers in the Ultraman Franchise, even if the former is a bit more comedic. Even then combined they make a nice Kaiju that's formidable. |

Its almost upon us... Edit: Well this was one hell of a family reunion. Things went from 1 to 100 in the blink of an eye. I didn't really know what was being said during the Belial/Geed and Zero fight so I was pretty horrified when I saw Belial absorb Geed and fly away with him. I can't wait to see what happens next week. Side note, interesting coincidence that, just after we got done talking about Ultras who open their mouths in another forum, Belial opens his in this episodes. Also, is it just me, or did Raiha's father kind of look like Narutaki from Decade? |
Geed. I don't even.
Definitely looking forward to the conclusion next week. |
There's a reason the nickname Bad Touch Belial gets tossed around a lot...
This episode takes that name and cranks it up to 11, that entire scene that the thumbnail is previewing in the video above, jeez that felt really uncomfortable. |
"Dad's gonna show you his love!" Daaamn. That whole scene with him and Geed was great.
So we just jumped straight into the endgame here. What the hell happens in the rest of this show?? |
I'm surprised Belial showing up came so soon in the series.
Man he really threw Geed down in the mud and just pounded on him. Pretty cool seeing them fight in a construction yard. I liked that Laiha got such a great scene of her fighting the alien in the building. It showcased her fighting skills. ...of course when the alien grew large from inside the building it probably should've killed them all in the collapsing rubble. Curious to see what will happen with Laiha's inner-star. |
Lets see, we've got four little stars. I'm sensing an Alpha/Beta capsule mix for Geed that gives him Royal Mega Master.
Either way, gosh I love some Laiha, particularly any time Chihiro Yamamoto gets time to show her moves. She's really quite the actor. There's not enough good things to say about this series. They pack so much in that gives every character time without it being too much or too little. |
Yeah, this episode was everything I wanted it to be, so good.
Although Belial could've spent a bit more time in his regular form, the new fusion monster is awesome but I just like the classic suit more. I was also surprised to see that they mentioned the Reionics and Alien Rayblood again, not surprising after I was told they were mentioned in the web series predating Geed but I like how they explained some of the backstories behind the Fusion Rise with it. |
November Scans:
Introducing Belial Atrocious, more Royal Mega Master, King Galactron (King Joe + Galactron), Zaigorg from the Ultraman X movie is showing up, and two new Fusion Fight exclusive forms, Leover Fist (Leo + Astra) and Strong Gomorant (Tyrant + Gomora). https://twitter.com/_Erasu/status/923895490701332480 |
I don't dislike Belial Atrocious, but his regular form just looks much, much better to me.
Still looking forward to seeing this suit in action though. |

this new one looks like geed proportion-wise, dunno if the mouth can open or not it's not atrocious, kinda lacking imho. still looking forward to the debut of this form |
Atrocious is interesting, it gives me a vibe of Venom from Spiderman. Belials regular form is scarier though.
Not liking the Gold Armor upgrade on Geed. The gold color just looks bizarre on an Ultra. I'm surprised how much I don't like it. King Joe looks like he has some yellow Zetton in him too! Looks neat!! |
I enjoy Atrocious if only because, it's such a departure from his Ultraman design I love it. Like his regular form is cool but it still has elements of it being a dark Ultraman. Atrocious steps it up by having him distance himself even more from that kind of look.
|
is there any chance that Atrocious is actually Geed gone all evil? Or is that definitely Belial?
Because the body shape and proportions (minus the big hands) are so much more Geed than Belial. Belial is really thick and big with huge shoulders, chest and arms,.. and Atrocious ... isn't. |
It's Belial. The name is even part of the trademark

well that settles that I guess. hahaha

That episode was perfect. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
Just about everything they could work in there, they did. Laiha gets to play a huge part in saving the day, Riku's love of Donshine comes up in a big way, him quoting Zero from Beyond's debut to further cement how much he's grown before he wipes the floor with one of, if not THE toughest Ultra villain, that awesome song from the soundtrack CD playing in almost exactly the context I was hoping they'd use it in the show while everyone cheers Geed on (and it's about time!), or even the last shot in the ED not actually being from the episode proper. It's SO good. I know I say that constantly about Geed but I can't stress enough how good it is. The closest thing I have to a gripe with it at this point is that it'll be REALLY hard to top a two-parter this stellar. Also if that "turning destiny around" thing was Tsuburaya's intent with Geed's name the whole time (which seems likely), that's... actually kind of genius. |
Binged ep 16 & 17 at once. Man Ultraman is on a roll since X. Makes me wonder what would happen for the 2018 series.

Episode 17 was surprisingly amazing!
"Surprisingly" because the show is already so good I didn't think I could still be amazed! The 'Ultras Shield' was really cool. |

Less Fusions and 'toy of the week' would be nice. But it seems like that's what Ultraman and Kamen Rider do now. I guess that's where the money is.
One of the reasons I like the Showa era stuff is because it's more about the stories and less about pushing toys in your face in each episode. (not that I don't like all of the eras, but it's refreshing watching Showa stuff and just getting the story and not the gimmicks.) |
Episode 17 was on fire, damn!
There's so much great stuff to talk about. First of all, I love the illusion Belial created, and Geed with red eyes looks rather great actually, still prefer the blue though. Giving Laiha the role of saving him and tying up her Little Star-plot in the same move is genius. And man, the scene with little Rikku and Donshine was amazing. When will they finally make an episode with a Donshine-focus ala "Beware the Gray Ghost" from Batman? It's beyond due now! Anyways, the action scene that followed was badass. Not only did they show off all of Geed's forms properly, but I was really happy when Belial recognized the Father of Ultra-side in Magnificent and said that he and Ken don't get along, fantastic! :lol The new BGM-track that played alongside was also great, I definitely need to get the soundtrack now. Lastly, I do like Royal Mega Master, the design is still not for me but it's a fun form to witness in action. The toy-focus isn't bothering me as much and the "Brothers Shield" is just epic. So yeah, great stuff once again, I can't wait to see where this show goes next, we all know Belial isn't done for just yet. |
Don’t really need to say any more about this episode as everyone else has covered it, but yeah it was pretty damn amazing wasn’t it!
The King Sword stuff definitely felt less toy-ad than the Geed Claw did, along with the Orb Calibur and X’s Exceed dagger thing I don’t remember the name of for that matter. Good to see TsuPro hit a sweet spot there. |
