The plot description is pretty interesting. If i had to guess, any conflict/rivalry between the two teams might stem from the fact that the Lupinrangers are more interested in reclaiming the Lupin Collection, while the Patorangers are focused on stopping the bad guys/saving the day. Defenitlt fits their motifs: the thieves want the material goods and the police are their to protect the public.

Just wanna add regarding the image Annuga shared, Lupinrangers are labeled "Outlaws of Justice" while Patrangers are labeled "Heroes of the Absolute".

I have to admit I was a bit worried the suit design quality might be a drop from Kyuranger, but I suppose with everything out there all we have to do is wait for the casting announcement.

Things I hope to see from this series

- Two competent red rangers. Having an idiot lead the team is being done to death so actually having someone who can be inspiring without being an idiot or "lucky" or whatever.

- All ranger characters to have arcs. With only six rangers in the team this should be easier to do even disregarding any additional rangers that join later on (and it'll be interesting to see how that's handled, are we going to get a duo that end up on different teams)?

- A strong writer who will do more with the show than just write a show to advertise a toy catalog. Kyuranger has some good ideas and some good arcs but half the episodes feel like they're written just to sell the toys and nothing more than that. Like, the Orion Battler was only used once to launch other Voyagers when it was fairly new and has never been used since. Kids are more likely to buy the toys if they are considered a key part of the series rather than just a one off, it feels sometimes like they are banking on kids going "OH MY GOODNESS THAT IS SO COOL I WANT ONE" after just one appearance and then it's never shown again.

I just realized why the Patoranger mechs are called Trigger Machines. They actually have triggers on their backs and when they are set in the VS Changer, they become the trigger of the gun.

Clever touch: the team logos actually spell out "V.S."

I gotta say I am liking a lot of stuff from this series so far, except the suits. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if they grow on me, but so far they seem to be a step down from the Kyuranger ones IMO.

Not to say I think the suits look bad or anything , they don't and I definitely can see the aesthetic for the two teams, I'm just not feeling the designs.

I am definitely looking forward to it though.

Is it me, or does the saw blade arm on Lupinkaiser's yellow arm make me think of the AbarenOh Nokodon from Abaranger?

I just realized that after the 40th anniversary of Super Sentai, we have gone back to the names of Sentai having the word "Ranger" in them. It started with Kyuranger and now it continues with Lupinranger and Patoranger.

One big question about this series: how’s the sixth ranger or seventh going to work out? Will they each have a fourth ranger?

Let's face it: it'd be hard for a design to be anything other than a little disappointing after Kyuranger. They're still clearly experimenting with interesting visor shapes. And the Patoranger design is relatively busy, probably because Lupinranger got the sleekest elements.

They could do it any number of ways. They could go the "double agent" route some people have suggested, but it sounds like the teams will be reluctantly working together from the outset. Then again, they may have merged into a single team by that point, so there might be a single new hero. They could, indeed, have each team gain a new member. I could also see them doing a half-and-half hero, with a visor that's half police hat, half top hat. A detective hat could also work. Or... hm. I could also see them going with a hero whose theme is balance, maybe using scales as a symbol. Even more so than Kyuranger, I don't think we can accurately guess at the show's structure, just yet.

Good find, the silhouette does look like a stylized top hat. I wonder why Patorangers have an S while Lupinrangers are V. I guess V is for Vandal? The S logo I cannot make any guesses yet.

I assume it's purely that when together, they spell VS. I wouldn't assume any intentionality beyond that, but who knows?

Would it be funny if both teams got 6th Rangers, with the Patoranger one being black and the Lupinranger one being white?

The VS part I understood right away but could not figure out the individual significances. Safety seems like a likely choice for Patoranger since they are police officers. Unless it stands for Seigi which means justice. But Safety it is I guess.

So the Trigger Machines and the Dial Fighters make parts of a gun. The Trigger Machines become the trigger of a gun and the Dial Fighters because a scope (well they are meant to be a scope). So was someone just taking apart a gun and came up with the gimmick?

Anyone know when the press conference is?

I dunno, Hopefully when the actors and actresses get revealed they're worth the wait.

Probably, that is if they ever release the winter vs movie. Which by the way, shouldnt they be promoting by now? I guess if not they can always go the Kamen Rider route of having an epilogue ep that introduces them.

Makes sense I guess. I assume the budget was insufficient to film one otherwise we would be already seeing promo clips and whatnot. Honestly I am fine with them not having a vs movie this season considering they gave people 12 rangers to root for. Anyhoos psyched for the press conference.
