I just want to start off by saying Kyoryuger was an amazing series. I loved everything about that show. I will never understand the hate it gets.

For the people saying that if this new show doesn't do well, sentai will end.. yeah and World of Warcraft is dying again this year. Just because there is some rumor, doesn't mean it's true. People have said every single year that sentai will end etc etc. It won't. At least not for a long time to come.

You must have missed that every other prediction in that post so far has come true then.

Kyoryuger is just unapologetic fun. And you know what, that's a good thing, the cast was all very likeable, and I honestly love the Deboss gang

The Deboss Gang are the perfect Sentai Villains and none will ever live up to them.

(Except maybe the Shadow Line, I love those train dorks.)

Absolutely agree, I love both those villain groups so much. Shadow Line might just be my favorite though, Toq was just a damn good Sentai in general.

Years go by and Kyoryuger is far from the worst series. The cast is fantastic and likeable enough, yes even Daigo, when he's not on the spotlight. It's just when it came out people loved it but when the show starts to give the spotlight to Daigo every single time some people are starting to hate it. And also the sudden romance between him and Amy.

But at the very least, Kyoryuger managed to do what most Sentai failed to do, make the cast memorable enough, which is a huge flaw in Ninninger and so on.

Back to Ryusoulger topic, anyone else find it ironic that two members share the same name as two White Rangers? Makes me hope that the 6th member is White (please not Gold oh god please not).

THey look cool. ANd how fitting that they're next to each other, sine their respective rangers are brothers.

Black feel like he got the body of strong black / green with the mentality of a blue. Pink coming from another toku reminds me ninninger pink gokaiger pink when they show up at gavan and w. nothing tops dekayellowsp hurricane blue guest appearances later on. Sawa from build, go buster yellow, Shinken yellow still do some toku, so it's kind of a good and bad thing with typecasting limitation and extra opportunities .

I felt so bad for the suit actor when I saw it, too.

Looking back at the sales figures I just realized we haven't had many vehicle themed sentai this decade.

Show looks pretty good! Can't wait to see what it has in store.

Huh I thought they would actually use Smilodon or Sabertoothed Tiger. In all fairness a tiger-ish dinosaurs seems a cool idea.

Which is weird because cars should be an easy sell. Kinda wonder why LuPat failed in the first place. Maybe it's because of the two teams, and with them treating PatRangers horribly it further tributes to the low toy sales since they technically only pushed for Lupin.

maybe it has to do with set completion ? I'm not into toys so I don't know, do people care about having the complete set in general ? (if i was into that I would like to have all the team toys)
If so with your usual team you have to get like 6 rangers stuff.

With LuPat and the "choose your side" motif at the beginning, you're like choosing 3 and you can be done kinda. Which would imply less sells ?

All of this after Kyurangers and its 12 members who would discourage some people to have the complete set.

LvP's problem is that it kept promoting the Lupins as they were the flashy and cool ones since the very beginning, making kids gravitate towards them. The Pats needed to sell themselves after constantly being portrayed as the bumbling idiots of the crew. "I don't want that toy, the person who uses it is a dummy poo poo face" is something a child would say after all

I think an issue with Lupin/Pat is that to me it was marketed as two separate lines, so it was easier to skip out on "half" of the product. Actually I would really love to see a break down of the toy sales by product to see which team sold better. Maybe the lack of Pat centric toys hurt, since I can could see police toys selling better than thief ones.

Also is it just me or do the civilians clothes remind anyone of Zyuranger?

So I guess it is official, Green and Black's motifs are fictional dinos that are based off of smilodons/saber-toothed tigers and miragaias. Fine by me.

Which kind of makes it too bad they didn't go with the dragon motif after all: dragons based off real dinosaurs or other beasts could've been a compromise between a new, untried theme and rehashing the "safe" dinosaur theme.

Yeah, i read from tokusatsu network that the red ranger is "A genius who spends all his time training" so I thought he would be like Takeru/Shinken Red. Oh well, if at least the story is good enough then I will probably watch it anyway lol

This is also the first time we're seeing how their personalities will look and I am loving them already.

The sounds are annoying as hell. Although, do they try to pass "Ryusoul Cool" as "You're so cool"? Because that's clever.

Anyways, I haven't watched too much of this since I don’t like these "actors present toys"-kinda thing (at least in this style) but I was surprised by how much I liked the actors from watching the last preview.

The Red invokes a very regal and serious vibe IMO instead of simply being a screaming buffoon so that's already great.

It's probably one of the best pun I heard in all toku, and yet at the same time, I feel like it's the kind of pun that was suggested as a joke, or by a drunk employee, and the boss said : BINGO !

Couldn't disagree more. I actually really like this opening. I find it quite catchy.

The opening theme feels like a nice blend of Magiranger, Gokaiger, and Zyuohger's opening theme. It has that "HELL YEAH! A GRAND ADVENTURE AWAITS!" kinda vibe.

If recent years mean Zyuohger and onwards, I personally loved the opening themes for Zyuohger, Kyuranger and LvsP. If recent years does not mean Zyuohger and onwards I will revise my answer if you let me know. But bottom line I dont mind the past three theme songs. :)

OP's got this kick to the chorus that makes it a perfect fight insert. Gets you excited, which is what a good toku OP should always do.

Usually I'd ignore this as music is subjective but what exactly do you mean with sing-along style? Not to mention the music sounds very fitting of a grand adventure
