I hope we go back to having monsters growing giant again after having the last two shows just having already giant monsters taking on the MOTW's attributes, or did Ryusoulger really leave a bad taste on the monsters growing giant angle.

To be honest, the giant monsters body shape in Kiramager and Zenkaiger are really similar to giant monsters from Ultraman because the giant monsters in Kiramager and Zenkaiger are has kaiju-type body.

The reason they're doing it they way they are now is that they can reuse the monster bodies every episode and just make new heads to plop on top. Unless Sentai's budget goes up, I wouldn't count on that changing anytime soon.

Yea, it's the same with Kamen Rider monsters, in that they use the same lower bodies with some new bits on the upper torso. And even then the monsters slowly get phased out for villainous Kamen Riders, since they're easily more marketable, and they stick around for much longer than monsters to begin with.

This is because the monster is obviously doomed to fail. But with Ryder, options are possible. At the very least, he can die or be corrected. Therefore, it is more interesting to watch them.

In the last decade we've had many, many Riders who essentially just do the same thing as a final boss kaijin would do (Solomon, Evolt, Cronus etc), and in the past we've had many monsters like in Faiz, W and Kuuga who stuck around for a lot longer -- some even over the course of the entire show. There's no real rule to this beyond Riders being more marketable.

And at least one of them survived? Kaijin in this show is doomed from the start: he or the villain who will be slain; or an ally monster. For the most part, Rider's fate is hidden in the fog. Well, yes, let's say you can predict that if the evil Rider appears 5-10 episodes before the end, then he is just the final boss, but (taking Ex-Aid as an example) you initially expect more from Parado than from Grafite.

Then Toei would have filmed a season without kaijins, where in each episode the enemy is a new evil Rider. But in this case, it will no longer be so interesting. But I agree that this is not a rule, but a trend that is bound to change.

That said, I kinda wish there was either a sentai or rider show where the villains are like the Vyram from Jetman but also have budget issues. I hope this show is the one that does it.

It will have no effect.

No, because we're well beyond what COVID was when it first hit. Zero One and Kiramager only had that big hiatus because it was sudden, but now that we know how to deal with it, it won't happen.
Plus, none of the characters from Zenkaiger are confirmed to be in DonBrothers besides Kaito and Juran, so why would that affect the air date and press, the focus would be on the new team, not a previous character.

The conversation has probably moved far past this, but I just gotta say...I can't stand the team design. None of them look good. I think this is actually my least favorite team design in the history of the franchise.

It's a shame, because I absolutely adore the Zenkaiger designs.
