I finished watching Constantine: City of Demons and I loved it. This is the Constantine movie that I waited for and it was so much better than the shitty Constantine live-action movie from the mid-2000s. The story and animation were very good. The movie also did a great job of capturing the horror and violent atmosphere of the comics. I want this to do well to get more Constantine animated movies. I also recommended this to people who like the other Western adult animation series like the Netflix Castlevania series since they both have a similar vibe to them.

Looks like The Killing Joke mixed with Taxi Driver and The King Of Comedy. I hope it won't be a let down like Venom was.

First of all the Joker trailer failed to even remotely impress me.
Second, holy fuck you guys Shazam is fucking great |
Pun not intended but the trailer put a smile on my face and filled me with so much joy. Please don't suck.

Shazam was okay for me. It's a decent family film, but I do find some of the jokes to be pretty cringy at times. Not to mention, they are some character moments that I didn't like at all. I also feel like the movie didn't need to be over 2 hours long.
It's not a bad movie, but far from great as people making out to be. I give it a 7/10 at best. |
Shazam is super good and very enjoyable. Easily my favorite DC film so far. Just so much fun, energy, and it was nice to see a family come together like that~

Also a friend of mine told me she was going to die laughing at the villainous speech in the theatre and that her girlfriend started getting worried about her cause of how much she laughed |
The movie not being dark is not an issue because I love many other movies and series that are not dark at all. It's still a fun movie which I can recommend to people, but I felt like some of the writing in the movie could have been better.

Anyone here got the chance to see Joker yet?

I really need to start reading DCeased. I've kinda been spoiling myself with Youtube videos but everything I've heard of it I've really been digging.

I thought Joker was a solid movie from start to finish. The movie was like if Taxi Driver, King of Comedy, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, and Batman: The Killing Joke was mixed into one. I also felt like the movie went by super quick (which is not a bad thing) because it felt like a 90-minute movie to me.
The movie is pretty violent and bloody at times, but it is not blood bath like some people are making it out to be. I can see why some people would be turn off by it because the movie is very realistic and The Joker is someone that could exist in our real world. It's not like with Wolverine, Deadpool, or Hellboy when those guys are superpower begins that are totally fictional. I do think the message of the movie could have been better, but I still enjoy it. I give it a 8.5/10. |
Double Post. Please Delete!!

I didn't watch joker, because is not big deal.
|
I think it is hard to compare the live action Jokers because they are all different from each other. Comparing one to another one is like comparing Apples and Oranges (Both are fruit, but taste very different).
Cesar Romero's Joker was great for his time because Batman during the silver age was very campy and over the top. Jack Nicholson's Joker feels similar to The Joker from Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers run while having a creative take from Time Burton at the same time. Heath Ledger's Joker feels like a crime boss from a heist movie meanwhile Joaquin Phoenix's Joker feels like someone who could exist in real life. The less said about Jared Leto's Joker, the better. |

Personally I love the Jack Nicholson Joker because that first Tim Burton Batman movie was my introduction to Batman just before Batman TAS was a thing. |
As of this date (10/16/19), there is a new book for readers of all ages which is based on an old radio drama: Superman fighting the Klan!
https://www.dccomics.com/comics/supe...N-PERIODICAL-1 I've read one review, but I would like to see what others think about it and more importantly, where to get it. https://comicbook.com/dc/2019/10/16/...yang-gurihiru/ |

I love Gurihiru's art. They're a two-woman art team that've worked on the aforementioned Avatar graphic novels, as well as Power Pack and Gwenpool for Marvel. It's a manga-ish style, but they fold in a lot of American-style paneling and layouts. It's always very fresh, very fun. The first issue of Superman Smashes The Klan should be available in comics shops nationwide. You can hit up the Comic Shop Locator to find a shop near you. If there isn't one nearby, it should be available digitally on Comixology's site. Hope that helps! |

On last week's Supergirl , "Back From The Future, Part 1", there was some robot tigers!
Yes, "robot tigers"! I'm not as familiar with the Arrowverse as so many others are, so I don't know if this happened before or not. That said, the Tiger-Bots were both fun and strangely familiar to me. They looked like the Wild Force White Tigerzord (GaoTiger), though it was at the most basic level and more in terms of design and function! I have some included screencaps and even a personal photo of my own Wild Force White Tiger. Do you think they look similar? |

I still hope JJ Abrams does not direct or write the next Superman or Green Lantern movie. He wrote the script for Superman: Flyby and it was one of the worst scripts that I've ever read. That movie would have make Superman 4 look like The Godfather.

Birds of Prey is out, I'll probably see it tomorrow and I've got the idea of John Mulaney as Plastic Man stuck in my head
|
I did see Birds of Prey last night and I really enjoy it. I thought the movie would suck, but the movie end up being a lot of fun. I like the characters, humor, and action. I hope we get a sequel.

I went in thinking Birds of Prey was gonna be cringe cos of the marketing. I left thinking it was just plain and average.
First off: this is not a Birds of Prey film. It's obviously a Harley Quinn film (I mean, DC next week is releasing a comic made because of the film called Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey. At least they got it right in terms of what it is). Characters were alright I guess. I somewhat like Harley much better in this than in Suicide Squad. I didnt particularly like Cassandra Cain. 1. nothing like her comic counterpart. 2. the actress wasn't particularly good so her dialogue came off stale Huntress didn't need to be in the film. She's only here cos "she was a founding member in the comics". Her story just coincidentally interacts with the others and they have to come up with a last minute reason for her to join the team near the end of the film to fight Black Mask. Black Mask was alright. I kind of liked the eccentric take. Zsasz was fine too. If you're not a comic fan or know the character, they, at the last minute, explain the whole deal with his scars. It's not brought up until near the end of the film. There was one notable scene that they could've cut cos it made no real sense to be there and it was Harley imagining a musical scene while she's being beaten by Black Mask. She sings "Diamons are a girls best friend" which is a reference to the diamond Black Mask wants but the scene itself is just random. Is it to show that Harley is crazy? We already know she is Action wasn't bad. The scene of Harley's attack on the police station is probably my favourite scene and has the best action of the film. Although there were some scenes where the action was stale. The last one in the amusement park had some notable flaws for example: Black Canary fighting thugs on some see-saws and shes holding a bat but decides to kick or punch the thugs instead and only uses the bat when the film pans back to her fights. Oh and Black Canary only using her powers once. Like there's the hint at the bar then she only uses it once at the end of the film. Music-wise, I feel like it suffers the same flaw with ever film trying to use popular songs or covers/remixs of older songs: trying to copy what Guardians of the Galaxy popularised but failing to understand there's a either a obvious reason to why those songs play in certain moments/scenes in GOTG and not just because, WE NEED COOL SONG DURING COOL SCENE. Most notable was the scene showing Cassandra pickpocketing from Zsasz. I think the song was a cover of some Michael Buble song so not only was the cover choice odd but the decision to use that song cover in that scene was odd. Overall, average and plain film. C to C+. Some good scenes. It's not the worst DC film or just film in existence like some people are claiming it is (I saw someone say it was worse than 2019's Cats and Ghostbuster 2016. Those are terrible films. BOP is nowhere close to them in terms of terrible). Would I recommend it? Probably not. |

I guess Suicide Squad left a bad taste in people's mouth or they did a bad job on marketing the movie. |
That Golden Eagle Armor from Wonder Woman 1984 screams Saint Seiya. It looks like the Sagittarius gold cloth, I can't help it. If a heckler yells Pegasus Ryuseiken in the theaters I'm just gonna think, "Yeah, can't blame ya.". :lolol
Don't get me wrong, it looks awesome. But it is what it is. :lolol |
New Batmobile looks really cool. I like how it is a muscle car with a bonkers engine. It's like a kid with a lotta money tried to recreate the 1989 batmobile with whatever he could find. :lolol

Beautiful. Deserves all the Citizen Kane claps. |
The Batman trailer looks good but I can't help but feel like its covering the exact same ground that Batman Begins did. It even got similar looking color grading and scenes. I really hope they do their own thing without trying to copy off of Noaln's Batman movies.

Sucks they didn't show us Colin Farrell's Penguin but I guess I can wait. |
Thank goodness The Batman, Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights trailers was able to wash away all that terrible Snyder Cut trailer. Pretentiousness at its max, that trailer is.

And seriously, that trailer reeks of "All hail god Snyder". It's dangerously religious cult-ish. Also this explains everything https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EgDMp6-X...jpg&name=large |

The funny thing is, as I've seen pointed out online, there's no way a 4 hour film would have ever been relased. This isn't even the film we would have gotten, this is some new, pretentious hybrid. It's a monstrosity.
