Sometimes I think I make Shinkenger sound worse than it is. It's a pretty good show, especially if you are new to Sentai. It does have a strong ranger cast, the music is quite good, and the fight choreography is more often than not, outstanding. It's just that the main villains don't do very much and the show relies too much on mecha and CGI. ALso, some things that happen in the last 8 episodes of the show should have been done sooner.

Currently watching Kyoryuger's 12th episode. I already dislike how Daigo apparently becomes the only ranger who matters because goddamn do I love these rangers! Utchy's antics are adorable yet funny, Nobuharu reminds me of Ryoga from Abaranger only if he kept spouting bad puns, Ian is Gai but without me wanting to kick his teeth in, Amy is Kaori but instead of being a spoiled bitch who can't do anything she's likeable! Daigo and Boy aren't too memorable/don't stand out, but they're fine so far

Oh wow, so I'm not the only one who found the Jetmen and their constant infights insufferable?

Just finished Ohranger the other day and yeah, still feeling rather ambivalent about it. Had some strong episodes (15, 23, 32) but also lame stuff (12, 36). Ending was decent enough, though.

Currently sitting through Maskman and finished first 9 episodes. So far it's pretty solid but not quite outstanding.

Nope, I ended up dropping Jetman at the halfway point because I either hated everything or it bored me

I somehow managed to watch through the entirety of Jetman, which btw was my first sentai because most other fans treated it as the epitome of the entire franchise. While the villains were cool, I can't say that this was the most wholesome experience I had while watching a show.

Watching Dairanger afterwards was quite a relief, to be quite honest, mostly thanks to their gorgeous fights and likeable cast (I even kinda liked Kou who imo is a way better lover than Gai ever was :^)).

I do want to wiggle in and say that I find Shinkenger to be atrociously boring.

Well I'm currently going through the Power Rangers Mystic Force boxset at home. Every couple of weeks me and a friend get together and are marathoning Zyuranger off Shout Factory's site. We stopped and sampled some of Dairanger, Kakuranger and Ohranger. After we finish Zyuranger we're thinking about trying Ohranger because we just find the Baronia Empire's affects interesting. It's like discount Cybermen for the mooks, and something just makes me think of third Doctor era Doctor Who for some reason.

I'm only like... Ten episodes in or so but I'm not a fan :p

On topic though my wife and I are watching making a stab at finishing Go-Onger, just got past the Go-On Wings introduction.

Ohranger had a darker, more military-esque theme iirc, and as Toei is never doing that again because a terrorist attack happened when Ohranger was airing, it's unique in that aspect so I hope you enjoy it!
