Zeo, when you achieve your quest don't forget to keep them for breeding in the future! We'll put our trust in you should we have any Vivilion cravings! :lol

However I'll probably amass a bunch of spares by the time I'm done (they've been coming and going on GTS) so I'll keep it in mind :p |

Are any of the Pokemon animes actually any good? And do they require being watched in order?

Really? DP was one of the few seasons I could tolerate.
Indigo League: Watchable (Cheesy, but still watchable) Orange Islands: Depends on how you like Tracy Johto: Please god let it end. WHY IS IT STILL GOING!? *Cries* Advanced Generation: If you can survive an episode without wanting to introduce May to the metal end of a shovel, it's still unwatchable. Battle Frontier (AG Part 2): A step up from the AG. Watchable. Diamond/Pearl: Watchable. It drags, but it's watchable. Best Wishes: Fairly decent. XY: Haven't seen. The rest are spin-offs, like Pokemon Chronicles and the Ranger special. Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters out of the Gate (I think there was a second MD spin-off, unrelated to the first, but I'm too lazy to check) and Origins are completely unrelated to the primary anime. |

I'll look into D&P then as well!

I've seen everything so far bar Best Wishes, which I dropped after about 10 episodes. Every region suffers from a drag factor (Johto especially, despite my love for it), but I just found every new character introduced in Best Wishes completely unbearable and Ash's stupidity reset even more obvious than usual.
That being said, I would like to go back and watch the Team Plasma stuff. Is that worth the watch? |
I'm enjoying XY so far. It's only 3 episodes in. Though I wish there were better subs.
I had committed myself to watching Pokémon all the way through from the beginning. It was going well up until I got to Battle Frontier when the voices changed. The start of the change was REALLY REALLY bad. And then it got better a season later, but I didn't want to skip, so I just stopped. I haven't touched the anime outside of the movies until now. Though, if I could find the entire series subbed, I could/would watch all of it. But that's hard to do with the older series. I may try to look for Battle Frontier onward so I can actually watch it. I've gotten used to the JP voices anyway. Even Meowth. |
I'm thinking maybe I won't bother with Pokémon anime after all, except maybe X & Y but I can only seem to find dubbed episodes.

Goddangit I wish I could get online to have a chance at all these Vivillons. ;_;

She was rude and unpleasant, but was never called out on it. She rarely ever lost a contest. Her flaws were never played up, and she was often treated as infallible except for that one time her asshole-ish-ness caused Max to run away. She got everything because she was an 8 year old in the body of a 14 year old girl. I did not like May. I still don't like May. Her design is nothing special, her attitude makes me wonder why people find her charming, and she won contests using tactics that caused Dawn to lose in DP. It's fine if you love AG, May, and Gen 3. I can't stop you, and I won't try to stop you. But it won't stop me from loathing the character completely. Quote:
I'd take Iris and what's his name over Bianca and Cheren any day of the week :lol |
Sinnoh is probably my favorite section of the Pokemon anime, mostly due to Paul. I view him as the perfect rival; Ash's opposite in every way and a ruthless trainer. Plus the fact that Ash had assembled a REALLY impressive Pokemon team by the League makes Sinnoh worth it to me.
I utterly HATED "Best Wishes." I felt Ash took a massive step backwards in terms of character and intelligence, and the Unova League displays this more than anything else when Ash's main rival this time turned out to be a complete and utter moron who didn't even know the number necessary for a full Pokemon battle! |

I agree with the Paul thing, as boring as Sinnoh was he was a complete badass.
Ash's main rival in BW was the guy who took photos everywhere but for the life of me i can't remember hi's name. |

So I'm watching the opening episode of XY now.
Hell yeah Mega Blaziken in the opening few minutes! Maybe it's just because I grew up with it, but as far as quality goes this dub ain't half bad. That still didn't stop Ash from being insanely fucking annoying. As such, I was pretty much ready to turn this off, but the second half of the episode was pure action and genuinely really good action so I actually had quite a lot of fun. |

I kind of want a full anime based around Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I think it could be fun.

I've never been a huge fan of gym leaders as travelling partners either despite it happening every season. Just here it struck me as particularly glaring. |

I mean, it's not like Google Image search (With safe search on) couldn't fix your need for dully drawn anime breasts. Quote:

May didn't do anything good in Hoenn except waste time on contests. Max held more importance than she did. Dawn was much of the same, but I grant her amnesty because she wasn't as grating to watch as the other two. Citing Brock as "Not doing anything good" is like pointing out how Ash only used Pidgeotto to blow away smokescreens and pop Team Rocket's balloon without acknowledging that Noctowl and Swellow were demoted to the exact same thing in their respective seasons. |
