So I bought Super Robot Wars OG endless frontier and I've been playing that. It's been ok so far.
|
I reached 520 Moons on Super Mario Odyssey and I finally got the Gold Mario Costume
|
Sakura Wars So long my love on the Wii
I beat the second chapter. Made me kinda nostalgic for the first Phoenix Wright game. With the mock trial and the music. And the battle at the end of the chapter was pretty fun when you had to avoid getting hit by lightning. Pikmin on the GameCube I've been wanting to play this game since I was little. Now I finally get the chance too. The part of the game I'm at honestly makes me nervous, there's two parts left in the forest of hope but their both blocked by big enemies. I'm at day 14 which is halfway through the game so that doesn't help. .Hack G.U episode 1 Rebirth on PS4 I played through most of this game in one sitting I was pretty hooked. I liked the characters, I like the setting and I can't wait to try episode 2. Final Fantasy X on PS4 I hate the thunder fields, the enemies are hard to kill and trying to dodge the lightning is hard. |
Ni No Kuni 2
|
Dark Souls. LOTS of Dark Souls.
This is my first playthrough of the game, I am currently in Sen's Fortress, trying to climb the many traps this game has to offer. And yes, I have died. A LOT. One was even when taking down one of the game's many bosses. |
Far Cry 5
and I'm still working my way through Mafia 3. And I just bought the Bioshock Collection. I've played all the Bioshock games but I wanted the collection (remastered pt 1) plus all the DLC. |
Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters
This game is pretty fun so far. The graphics may not be great, but they do look good in my opinion. |
Done with Ni No Kuni 2 and started Yakuza 6.
|
Only had a switch for a month or two and already have 5 games for it but this month i bought Mario oddessey and love it
|
Replaying through Devil May Cry 1 on the PS4. With Devil May Cry 5 coming out, I wanted to revisit the series. I haven't played DMC1 since 2004.
|
Dying Light (enhanced edition on Steam), Dead by Daylight, H1Z1 Battle Royale, and one I got for PC called Escape From Tarkov that's turning out to be hard because I'm used to using a controller and not a keyboard and mouse. And I didn't realize Escape from Tarkov was Keyboard and Mouse only when I bought it.

I kind of gave up on Dark Souls after getting stuck on Ornstein and Smogh. I can't figure out a good strategy for dealing with both of them.
So instead I went back to try and finish Burnout 2... and it kind of spiralled into an obsession with trying to complete my gaming backlog. You can see what happened on my Backloggery here https://www.backloggery.com/memoryca...ser=TheAPERSON So I proceeded to finish my entire unfinished PS2 backlog and even buy another game for it to get the whole trilogy experience from Prince of Persia. Moved onto the Gamecube and now playing Majora's Mask, which I plan to finish today. I also played A Hat in Time earlier this year and I'm glad I did, it's a really good game. |

I still hate that fight with a passion though, as I don’t like to deal with two bosses at one time either, but it’s doable, if a salty bitch like me can handle it after coming back a year later you can do it no problem. Lure them through the arena, seek safety behind the pillars and retreat to another when they gang up on you. Kill Ornstein first, since he’s way faster than Smough you can let him come to you and get a few hits in before Smough catches up. Dealing with Smough alone is easier IMO, even in his second form. |
I've ended up enjoying Metroid Prime 2 a lot more than I thought I would. Once you get the Dark Suit things really feel a lot better!
|
Devil May Cry 1 is still a pretty great game, but I do admit that the camera is annoying at times. That's one thing in that game that does not hold up well to me. I'm almost done with DMC1 and I plan to replay DMC2 next. I remember not liking DMC2, but let's see if my opinion changes or not.

The Dark Suit does make things more doable, however in the next major area you will come up against what I think is one of the hardest bosses ever created. Certainly until Dark Souls came around it was one of the hardest. I think it's the next major boss battle you have to play. Good luck. @Kiwami, thanks for the tips. I will try and get a good feel for it all, but after finishing Majora's Mask I don't want to commit to any games which I think are going to take me a long time to beat because I plan to buy Marvel's Spider-Man when it comes out, the first of a series of new releases this year (and going into next year) that have finally piqued my interest My intention is to go back to Dark Souls next year although it will depend on what new games are coming out and whether I am interested in them. |

Just give Dark Souls another chance when you feel like it, you still have some great stuff to look forward to :) |
I see Metroid Prime talk. I adore Metroid but Prime 2 was very different. It tried to get more into it's horror nature and it's great but I will scream if someone tells me the Sky Temple Keys weren't terrible
|
I like the Metroid Prime games, but I still consider Super Metroid as my favorite game in the series. I still need to play the 3DS remake of Metroid 2.

Samus Returns? It's great, hope you can find it |
Yeah the Sky Keys were kind of annoying. They felt like padding and you had to collect them all at the end of the game, unlike the other two Primes where you can acquire the Artifacts/Energy Cells during the game. I always used to consider Prime 2 to be the weakest of the Prime trilogy but I remember it more than I do Prime 3 so I guess it's a mixed bag. Prime 1 is one of my top 3 games of all time.
One game I'm looking forward to this year is Soul Calibur VI. It looks like it might be the best in the series since II came out and the developers are really passionate about it all in spite of the recent controversy surrounding the DLC exclusivity of Tira. I wonder which side of the "Bandai Namco" equation was responsible for that kind of decision? ("Hint: It's probably the former, they've already shown they are willing to mass produce collectibles and then strong arm people with them into buying everything related to it so not surprisingly video game monotisation seems to be going the same way.) |
I just finished replaying Devil May Cry 1 and I still think the game holds up pretty well. However, I can admit that the game still has flaws like the bad camera angle and repeating the same bosses. Not to mention the underwater levels are terrible.
One thing that I do love about the game is the gothic horror atmosphere and how creepy the game can feel at times. The movie does remind me of an old spooky haunted house that you would see in old movies (I know Devil May Cry was going to be a Resident Evil 4). Overall, Devil May Cry 1 still holds up and it is still very fun to play. I will probably give it a 7.5/10 or 8/10. Time to revisit Devil May Cry 2 and see if my opinion on the game changes or not. I remember not liking it. |
Gone back to Soul Calibur IV to try and progress in the Tower of Souls mode. I'm currently on Floors 36-38 but struggling hard. Trying to beat these guys quickly is proving challenging ESPECIALLY on Floor 38 when the Siegfried at the end shows up. I'm using Kilik but I can't beat the other two enemies fast enough to be able to get enough time to be able to fight Siegfried, not to mention the fact that he is very difficult to hit. I did get very close at one point but doing the whole thing consistently is quite a challenge. You can spam throws against some of the enemies for a quick way to take them out but about half the enemies have abilities that prevent you from grabbing them, so I'm having to try and attack where they're not guarding.
Admittedly my own style of gameplay for fighting games isn't helping much in this regard. |

I will agree on the criticisms with Dark Aether; I wish they'd done more to differentiate it from Aether. Dark Aether's equivalent to the Pirates' Agon HQ being bereft of any living quarters or tech or whatever was an interesting example and I wish they done that more. |

I just finished both story modes for Devil May Cry 2. To be honest, I end up enjoying Devil May Cry 2. I used to dislike the game back in the 2000s, but I think the game is a lot of fun. Sure, it is a lot easier than the first game, the AI is not very good and Dante is not the same as he was in the first game. I can't help to like Devil May Cry 2.
What I love about Devil May Cry 2 is the dark, gritty and gothic urban feeling that this game has. I love the vibe that the game is going for being set in a town and a big city. People hate the story in DMC2, but I feel like the story was never the biggest selling point in the series. The story in the first game is just as simple and cheesy as the story in the second game. I did hate the underwater levels in Lucia's story mode because the swimming controls are terrible. Overall, Devil May Cry 2 is not as good as the first, but still enjoyable. Time to finished off the trilogy with Devil May Cry 3. I look forward to revisiting Devil May Cry 3 because it was one of my favorite video games as a teenager in High School and one of my favorite games on the PS2. |
Street fighter 5 arcade edition got a price drop to 15 dollars so I decided to pick it up.
This game is pretty fun, i really like it, if I had to complain about something... well 2 things really, the way you unlock stages is needlessly grindy, it takes too long to get 1 stage. And then there's the really expensive DLC COSTUMES. Those are way overpriced, if they came with some extra junk the price would be more understandable but 10 bucks for a fucking Monster Hunter costume pack that only has 3 of them!? No thanks. |
Still on Tales of Berseria, and starting Accel World vs SAO, but been itching to try Omega Quintet.
Estival Versus is still my go to combat game though(god that combat engine does everything right about an anime action game), but been throwing in some DOA5 in anticipation of 6, as well as Splatoon and Minecraft randomly(gotta grow my sea base for the transfer to Switch later so the farms are prepped ahead of time). Mostly only PC game, Wii-U game, and NDS or PSP for now. Will broaden out more to other consoles later. Still catching up on a backlog of releases though. |
Bought Spider-Man recently.
While not being overly original with a lot of it's content and being heavily cloned from Batman: Arkham, I am still really enjoying this game. That said, I did manage to die to the very first fight in the game... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZVBjdlbgfA Despite it's heavy similarities to Arkham I don't really consider it a bad thing, there's a few differences in the combat for the combat to feel slightly different despite being clearly based off the same system Rocksteady created, however that system was an evolution of the one that Spider-Man 2 used. I also think Insomniac was a good choice for this game because their sense of humour from the Ratchet and Clank games fits well here with a wise-cracking hero coming up with stuff like "Don't forget the hyphen between Spider and Man". Plus the whole part of the game when he's talking about "Spider-Cop" made me really chuckle. https://twitter.com/GenericAperson/s...24818655875075 Oh yeah, and Stan Lee is in this game. Because of course he is. I am currently before the first appearance of Shocker in this game. |
I just finished Mega Man 11 today. It’s a fantastic game: challenging but not unfair. I mostly wanted to bring it up because one of the minor enemy types are old school Shocker mooks, complete with a diving kick attack: http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/File:MM11_Shimobey.png

Been replaying Fire Emblem Echoes, I wanna get Mega Man 11 but I've still got a backlog of lots of games now

I'm playing through Shenmue 2
Feels good to finally play this game. |
Playing through Soul Calibur VI at the moment. Just beat Arcade mode with Groh and making good progress with all the different side stories in the main Soul Chronicle mode.
The character creator however is probably where I've ended up spending most of my time. There's so much you can do with this creator, you can literally create anyone... and I've see a few toku themed creations floating about the place (today I found Kachidoki Arms Gaim on the servers). https://twitter.com/Guntank081/statu...03773485768704 https://twitter.com/aizen7dragon/sta...14401424670720 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DqNX2ZbUwAAn4pf.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpxTBC1UYAA0fM2.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpxTBKRUYAUGA1l.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpxTBSVUYAAVnTV.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpxTBa2U0AAT88G.jpg Here's a few charachters I've made https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DqRPQtuWkAAoS90.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DqQpNRKXcAAa9sl.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DqH4Xm8XQAI7QxL.jpg The game itself is a very solid fighting game. It's quite easy to approach but has a lot of depth. Not that you need it to get past the single player as that part hasn't been too challenging so far. I was a Kilik and Yunsung guy in previous Soul Calibur games but I'm maining Groh this time around. |
I have been playing Spyro Reignited and I'm at 35% with Spyro 1. I love the game so far, but I do feel like Spyro 1 can be a bit annoying at times when you are trying to jump and fly across different platforms. Otherwise, the remake is an improvement over the original with better controls and Sparks can now able to find gems for you.
|
This month is mainly more Soul Calibur VI and then the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. I finished Spyro 1 the other day and got started on Spyro 2 which immediately feels like it has more replay value due to the fact that you can't 100% areas until you get upgrades, which is fine by me because that's a well worn video game trope that helps areas become more memorable (though Metroid is one of my favourite franchises so that helps.).
https://twitter.com/GenericAperson/s...18997025628160 Anyway, here are some more customs I've been making on SCVI: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrusMX-XQAE1Fub.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DraoT85W4AAN3SZ.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DraYN5MXQAAEk_I.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DraJZKqXQAENY98.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrV1U7-X4AAggat.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrRmAMUWkAE9R1y.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrAY0JqW4AAqD8l.jpg Oh yeah, and to link it back to Spyro: https://youtu.be/BCxmlXZJJYs |
I finished Spider-Man for the PS4 at 100%. Very good game from start to finished. The game really captures the feeling of being in NYC and the web-slinging is top notch. I really felt like Spider-Man when playing this game. Probably the best Spider-Man game that we had in a long time. Worth playing for sure!
|
I just beat it yesterday. Sooooo glad I got it. It was a ton of fun! :) The webslinging really is fantastic. Gonna take a brief break then get back to it for the DLC before KH3 comes out.
