Kiva episodes 45 (I think it was 45 anyway...) :
They were really good. That just sucks that Wataru accidentally killed Mio, but come on Mio...you're Queen, one of the most powerful Fangire, and you got taken out by Emperor Form's rider kick while he was holding it back? (Here's why I say he wwas holding back: usually the fangs strike multiple times, yet when it hit Mio, the one striked once) I mean...I know she fell off a cliff, but still. Shima died too...I know he was kind of a jerk...but still...he didn't deserve to die. Also, they showed how Maya got her powers taken away. King=Worst husband ever. |

I watched a bunch of Fourze over the weekend. Think it was episodes 26-32-ish. Dang good stuff.
From the guest appearance of Nao Nagasawa (really disappointed that she's not likely to make further guest appearances), to the appearance and destruction of two new Horoscopes. I really liked Cancer, the character. I liked his antagonistic relationship with Libra, I liked his personality, he was fun. Sad to see him go, but I also love the manner in which he was finally dispose of. Aries was interesting, neat that they did it in a different setting than we've seen up to now, I really liked the Meteor part of the story, and it also confirmed to me that Gentaro is just a really great guy. He's disposed of quickly, but the introduction of Cosmic States was really quite impressive, and I liked Virgo's little quip at the end of the episode, that Fourze is almost as strong as she is. maybe if they wanted to defeat Fourze they'd use their big guns from the beginning, rather than letting him get stronger with each episode as they send inexperienced zodiarts after him. |
I've been watching W. At first the costume design bugged me a bit, but the characters likability have more than made up for it.
|
Watching Kamen Rider Wizard now, and so far I'm enjoyign it :D, does the shaba dabadaduda comes in more often it gave me a good laugh.

Alright! I've finally finished Kiva. SO I will post my thoughts on episodes 45-48 as well as my thoughts on the series as a whole.
45:It was good, and it was cool to see Otoya fight against King as Dark Kiva. One thing I don't get is that this is the second (third if you count the movie) time he has met Wataru, yet he still says "what? I don't have a son". I need to say this...Otoya is a trooper. He transformed into IXA countless times, even though he knew it put a strain on his body, he was getting his life energy sucked out of him, then he tranformed into Dark Kiva three times knowing it could kill him. Also Bishop...you killed Mio... 46: I want to say this was the episode where Nago started losing his eyesight...these last few episodes kind of blurred together in my head since I just marathoned them. I don't like how that never got explained, but it was nice of Megumi to tell him not to give up and to support him through his hardship. Bishop was a jerk as always. I wonder why his eyes became white? Shima was also alive, since for some reason Taiga didn't kill him. Also, dang Wataru...someone's on a power trip...I remember Matrix saying that his change happened "overnight" it kind of did, and it kind of didn't. It kind of did since he just became super powerful at the end, but at the same time he was slowly becoming more confident. That was one heck of a comeback Wataru. 47: I...I just don't get Kivat's dad...he said that he would help Taiga, and said all of this stuff about darkness, even though he likes Maya (unless he knew Taiga didn't actually kill her). I do find it kind of funny how he still agrees to let Otoya use him but just said "Don't you value your life?" before biting Otoya (wait...did that happen in episode 46..bah! whatever). I wish that there was more interaction between him and his son. This was also the episode where Otoya dies, but it did show how Jirou, Riki, and...Bashaa went into Castle Doran and how they got to where they are now. 48: Wataru and Taiga keep fighting, and Bishop resurrected the old king (or at least his powers) It's always nice to see Kiva and Dark Kiva fight side by side. I don't get why Wataru was all like "Your sin is my sin" and "you're still my brother' I was like "dude! he killed your mom, who is also his mom...your sin is not his sin!" Then Maya shows up, and she's not actually dead! Yay! So...what? did she just act like she was dead to troll Taiga? Also...what kind of a parent encourages their kids to fight? It was nice to saee Taiga stop being a jerk. It was also cool to see Garuru, Bashaa, and Dogga fight there at the end. I also figured that Nago would get his eyesight back after he beat Bishop, and i'm glad he did. Speaking of Nago, him and Megumi got married, and Yuri's ghost showed up. Kivat looks kind of cut with a top hat, not gonna lie. I liked Riki and Jirou's interactions during that scene...then the Neo-Fangire show up...and that ties into Kiva's next movie, I believe. What's with his bum of a son anyway? So...Kiva is a good series as a whole...with some minor flaws. It still bothers me how Otoya possesing Wataru earlier on in the series was never explained, I really wish that Kivat and Tatsulot got more backstory, and more character development. Same goes for Bashaa and Dogga. The only one who had character development was Jirou. I also wish that the writers didn't forget that Otoya and Wataru had already met. I also think that making Kengo a jerk for that amount of time was stupid. Aside from those flaws...I think it's a solid Rider series. A lot of people complain about the series' melodrama...it didn't bother me at all, personally. Now...the huge question is: Does it dethrone Den-O as my favorite Rider series? No. While I did enjoy it quite a bit, I feel Den-O is superior. In terms of the three Rider series i have completed thus far, i would rate this third. Den-O being first, Fourze being second, and Kiva being third. I would still recommend this Rider series to any kamen Rider fan. Onto Decade! |

I'm glad you enjoyed Kiva, and I agree, while it is good, Den-O is better, and Fourze probably is too, the more I see of it the more I like it.

Den-O 29: What the fuck was that. I can't believe Zeronos had to use his SECOND TO LAST CARD on that. And that guy murdered Santa from W! Or Santa's... father? Brother? How many bald, oddly dressed men in Santa caps roam Japan, anyway?
On another note, since I've past the halfway point, I guess I should decide if I'm going to finish Agito or move on to another series next. I'm thinking Kiva or Kuuga. |
Are you talking when Ryuu just randomly attacked him?
|
Been watching Wizard, up to episode 20. Phoenix was a damn Florist. I did not see that coming. But I do see now, completely, what people meant by the Driver ruins scenes. He shows up in the warehouse, Rinko is laying there and almost dead, Phoenix is daring him to attack.. and Shaboodbie Touch to Henshin.

Though episode 30 has resolved that and once again proven that Zeronos and Denb are awesome. Though unfortunately, that's all it did. I really hope we weren't supposed to feel for the big blue bird's contract holder, though. He selfishly quits his job to do fireworks of all the useless things, leaves his wife and newborn baby (only after throwing a fucking table at them I might add) while yammering about how "women don't understand men's dreams' or some bullshit, never even admits he's wrong, then get's his way at the end along with happily-ever-afetr music? Bullshit, I was hoping the scumbag got done in. The reunion between Deneb and Yuuto aside that was one of my least favourite episodes. And it doesn't stop there. Also I'm kind of not finding Climax form as cool as I thought. I kind of wish Ninja Turtle's head piece, like, had the blades fold together to give a bit more symmetry with Kintaros, since I like the idea of the visors as armour, but the way they all control different parts of the body is... off-putting. And the man of the hour, good ol' Raffle Ticket, is really... he's kind of reminding me of how Eiji almost felt around the middle-end (end-middle?) of OOO. He's completely irrelevant. He's just the meatsack for all the more interesting, more capable characters to puppet. I like Den-O as a rider, but the poor boy's just not a factor at all. I think this is where, having watched W first, I feel like I handicapped myself going backwards. W took the "multiple personalities" thing and really made it worth it. The two characters were in-sync but still contrasted and butted heads often. Den-O almost totally ignores the contrasting personalities part by having Rollerskates have absolutely no power or sayas the rider, save far too few exceptions. Once he's posessed he just takes a nap I guess. He's hands down the most boring character and I find his continued lack of doing a fucking thing worth a spit is really hurting this show for me. And he's just so whiney. I've never had a show put me off after just one bad episode, but between the WTFisity of 29 and the building frustration showcased by 30, I'm probably the closest I've ever been. I hope 31 turns this around. |
Quote:
He'll become more relevant in a few episodes though, when he gets Liner Form and starts having to fight on his own without being posessed. |
Not reading the spoiler, but I'm glad it's not permanent. Nothing against RageoftheDinobots, in fact I quite like him, that's why I'm bummed he's so underdeveleoped.
Also, onto episode 33: Welp, Hana's gone. It really stinks that not only is she now a child and now 50% less awesome (seriously she was like my favourite character) she didn't even get a good sendoff. She was completely absent for the last two eps and had a bit part before that. I heard she left due to illness, so that explains it. Still kind of a bummer. Onto my next favourite character who's not Moe "Red Guy" Torboat, the explanation behind Yuuto's cards is both kinda cool and... nonsensical. I'm sure it'll be explained, but "Every time he uses one the memory of him dissapears from the minds of people he's met" is really weird and specific. It's almost, I dunno, like it exists as an explanation for Rambo's sister's loss of memory, rather than it being a more reasonable problem unrelated. Like maybe, I dunno, he lost his own memories and her memory loss was just good old mental scarring due to the traumatic way in which he passed away? Or something not so vague and complex. Also, I assume it'll be solved since the next episode on Youtube's thumbnails shows him in Altair form, so it will probably have equally a vague and yet somehow complex explanation. Though I'm glad because he hasn't used Vega form in a while and I like that form. |

Regardless of the reason, it is still lame. I agree with Split, as Hana was one of the only things that I felt was the strong point of the show. Turning her into a child was just dumb. They could have really done something else to account for her not being there. Like maybe write a plot around it that they realize they forgot about someone or something.

I don't know. |
I watched Kamen Rider OOO Wonderful The Movie The Shogun Warrior and the 21 Core Medals last night.
What is up with the ridiculously long titles? I find it amusing, but cumbersome for conversations. Anyway, I totally dug it. It was pretty fun, the BuraKaWani combo is really cool, plus the GataKiriBa clones rescanning medals and becoming other combos at the end surprised me. I didn't think he could do that. |
Where'd you watch it? I wish it was on Youtube.
|
Just watched Wizard absolutely OWN Phoenix. And aside from Shaboobie Touch to Ruin a Mood. It felt like.. kind of a cop out. I enjoyed it, but the fight was just to easy. And something he should've thought of sooner.

Just watched the first two episodes of Ryuki. It looks a little dated, but I kinda dig that early noughties style of filming Japanese series seem to have so its all good. Having only watched Rider shows from Decade-onwards, I can already tell Ryuki has a darker/eerier edge to it. Looking forward to watching more.

I think I'll start by explaining what I consider a good Rider series. I've watched Kuuga, Fourze, W, OOO, some of Den-O, a few episodes of Kiva, and most of Decade. And out of all of them Fourze is my absolute favorite. OOO is a close second.
That being said I'm not twenty one episodes into Wizard. I'm not enjoying it as much as I did Fourze. When I was watching Fourze for the first time, I couldn't wait until the next episode. I was downing them five at a time. Wizard though isn't a bad series. I'm enjoying it. But I can barely it through two episodes at a time before I'm looking for something else to do. I completely understand now why people complain about the belt. And I have the perfect example. The final fight with Phoenix. And the fight with Phoenix when Rinko is laying bleeding on the ground. You'd think Haruto would learn to Henshin quick enough it only gets out Shaba and then he presses down the Henshin ring of his choice. Fourze's useless Switches have nothing on some of the Useless Rings that Wizard employs. Sleep I can see being useful once or twice. But Dress Up? Outside of the one time he used the Ring, I don't see it being very useful. One thing Wizard does have over Fourze is Fourze had more useless switches. But Gentaro made up for that by making them useful towards the end. Haruto has yet to display that level of imagination. Shunpei is the only character I wish that Haruto would've let fall into despair. Though Gosei only knows the kind of annoying Phantom he'd become. I just don't like him. Rinko, atleast, has been useful. And a good character all around. The absolute Joy of this series has been Kamen Rider Beast himself, Nosuke Nito. His helmet still looks like a shaven Ratorata but I love him. I love him, I love his Kimaira, and I absolutely love his capes. I just wish they were a little longer. I do enjoy the villians too. Medusa and Phoenix especially. It still bothers me how they copped out destroying Phoenix. The fight was far to short and unsatisfying. And how they destroyed him really bothers me. It just feels like Haruto would've thought of that sooner, or let Beast eat him before he could regen. I'm enjoying the series enough to finish it out. But it doesn't get me excited to come home and watch like Fourze did. And it doesn't have the depth of story of Kuuga. Or as threatening villians. |

watch the new episodes of Wizard when they're subbed, but that's it. I remember back when I first began, I would marathon episodes of W. To this day, it is my favorite series. When I began Fourze, I would watch episodes from other series while waiting for the new Fourze. Now it's just Wizard. Perhaps by finally embracing it, Kamen Rider has lost it's magic. Either that or I don't have time anymore. Probably the latter. |
Wizard is a series that I just consider dull.
I'm actually one of the few who defend Shunpei because he was the only one doing this thing called acting during the first 10 episodes. Haruto and Rinko were dull in almost all of their delivery and just stood around, while Wajima spend 90% of every episode in his little workspace or just sitting on the couch while Koyumi was being a bitch. Anyway, Beast is feeling less like this series's saving grace, and more like this series's last lifeline. Lively, energetic, and fun to watch, Nitou is pretty much the only reason why I watch now that Phoenix was off'd. Also, on the subject of Phoenix, what's to say that consuming him was an option? Or that consuming him would prevent his regeneration? Having Beast eat Phoenix yielded just as large a risk of Phoenix reviving himself in Nitou's underworld. |
Quote:
Nito has quickly become my favorite secondary Rider. Without him I think Wizard would become unwatchable now that Phoenix is gone. Or atleast I wouldn't be motivated to finish the series out. Atleast if Nito consumed him, and something like that happened, it would've been story. More than a two minute fight ending how it ended. I just wanted more. How Wizard finished that fight was just... really unsatisfying. Not near as Satisfying as when, for example, Gentaro beat Ares. Or that whole Ares arc. |

I've still yet to catch up on Wizard. I think it's a bit bland, but I really can't put my finger on why. I enjoy the episodes, but like Sentai, I just can't feel motivated enough to watch it every week.
It's just so strange that I can't figure out my lack of interest. I like Wizard, I really like Beast and the cast has been pretty decent. So, why? |

Anyway, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that he does return superpowered and super charged from his experience in the sun. Still doesn't change the fact that his awesome story arc had a rather fast paced ending. |

Also, to answer Matrixbeast's question, our sun is named "the Sun." When you refer to it as "the Sun," "sun" should be capitalized. In other words, I can continue my crusade to rename the Sun "Solaris" (or maybe "Daggeron" to spice things up a bit). |
