Seasons 1 and 2 of the 8th Doctor audios precede that being introduced into the show.

I was thinking maybe as none of it was real, that rule wouldn't be in place, but the Doctor explains he manipulates molecules with the sonic to weaken the wicker, so I guess not...

Edit: oh, I thought that rule was always there.

If you wanted an explanation to tie everything together I guess you could go with them not being the same Sonic Screwdriver, but that's the best you'll get out of me :lol

And yeah, the wood thing didn't come around until Silence in the Library (I thought it was The Hungry Earth, but looking it up I see RTD was the one who made it up).

I had no idea it was so recent!

I find it hilarious how it was written out of the show in the early 80s because it was becoming too much of a get out of jail free card, only to be brought back in 2005 (96 movie notwithstanding) to be WORSE than it was in the classic series.

And then the wood thing is the only weakness they can be bothered to give it :lol

The screwdriver does practically everything, and the deadlock seal weakness was never used in Matt Smith's era, if I remember correctly.

Americans - is the Ultimate Guide worth watching? I was tempted to, but the synopsis didn't make it sound like anything special.

This is a new Ultimate Guide, I think. At least the guest stars don't look like any I've seen previously.

Edit: Or maybe not. I seem to be seeing conflicting info on this one. I am a dunce. Either way, I haven't seen it. :D

Yeah, on further inspection it does seem to be a new one. Probably worth checking out then!
