I like it, the light blue especially. |
I don't know if I like the Shield Calibur, but Dynamic is very nice.

seeing the Dual Sword be used by Dynamic makes its colour scheme feel more fitting
|
Ooh a shield to go with the sword? That's pretty sick actually!

I think the Shield Calibur will look really cool depending on how they execute it. I'm curious if the actual Dyna is going to have any involvement in the creation of this form. |
Personally thought it would've been called 'Smash', since it was among the words in that stanza that contained all the forms. Like that's where I kind of honed in on it.
(From the Ultra Series wiki): Kiri hirake FLASH kagayaku omoi atsuku moyashite STRONG Genkai sae SMASH sono te de egaku MIRACLE okosu nosa Buuuuuut yea, that also makes a lot of sense that it would be 'Dynamic' since it is the word that appears in the stanza with 'Sword and Shield' too. Overall I like Dynamic. Main gripes is that the Color Timer isn't on his left side anymore (like it was what made Decker unique), and that he doesn't have the armor anymore. It would've been perfect if he got armor on his right arm to balance it out and add to a knight like aesthetic with his sword and shield. |
Loving the new form! Kind of reminds me of a more colorful Rube.
My only nitpick is the lack of that sweet cosmic design that just made Decker look that much cooler, but I still like it as a form and design nonetheless. The Sword and Shield is a neat idea for an Ultra and I'm all for it! |

Due to the fact that I can watch both the Rider and Ultra lines on You Tube 2023 looks like this -
Rider Show #1 Ultra Show #1 Kira Mage Zen Kai Don Bros Metal Heroes Show #1 Ranger shows by way of Malaysia DVD. The rest Via Toku on You Tube. 2023 is going to be fun. |
Happy Gaia 24th!

Another couple Ultra Dimension sets out in late October! Set 04 is for Dynamic Type and also finishes off the main New Gen Ultras in DX (and also includes Alpha Edge??) while Set 05 is our mandatory Six Ultra Brothers set. Still no Dyna card...

Notable for shockingly including both weapons; and the Shield Caliber is even transformable https://images-fe.ssl-images-amazon....CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg https://images-fe.ssl-images-amazon....CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg |

Decker October scans
|
Are the monsters in the scans picked by what archive photos they can use as stock images or are they generally confirmed to be in the show now? Because I’m always happy to see Neronga again.
|
Neronga is probably just a stock image for the scan. Pandon however is confirmed to re-appear

By the way, @Topic: I'm watching the original Ultraman right now and I love it so much. I've seen selected episodes in the past but never the whole thing. And I gotta say, from all the classic monsters I've never really noticed before, Pestar might be my favorite. That suit is so creative and wild, stitching two people together in the middle like that. I've seen later Ultraman shows do this, but never knew it started here. I mean we had the "horse" method of two people inside a dragon, but this is something else. Sadly means not much fighting with Ultraman was to be had in this episode, but man Pestar is cool. https://i.imgur.com/voEpgOQ.png |
To be fair, the Pestar episode was originally planned to be an episode of Ultra Q.
|
The JP cast for Ultraman Regulos has been revealed. Unless you’ve got a VPN (and even then, that no longer guarantees anything, given some sites) employing VPN blockers), I wouldn’t look forward to their performances.

Pestars definitely pretty cool, I always thought he was one of hte more creative Kaiju introduced in the OG Ultraman.
I'm always a fan of unothrodox designed Kaiju that isn't just clearly a guy standing in a suit. This time it's two guys standing in a suit. lol But no seriously I'm always a fan of quirky monsters like Genegar, Spheresaurs, etc. |
Pestar sits at the exact spot where brilliance meets silliness and I love him for that.

I appreciate that the TPC actually had security around the Neomegas horn, even if it wasn't enough to stop Sphere from creating Sphere Neomegas. But it looks cool!
It seems like everybody in one form or another is determined to get back into space, even Hanejiro. Particularly because he was designed for it, but still. Good intentions are all well and good...but without a firm conviction behind it, does it have the strength to be realized? I wonder if Asuka showing up might be what really helps Kanata realize what his goal is. I love how the biggest evidence of Hanejiro becoming more human-like is his continued sassing of Kanata. Hanejiro straight up yeeting Kanata out of the Gryphon so he could transform into Decker was priceless. This is what happens when your sassy robot buddy knows you're Ultraman. Although he is good at covering for Kanata's transformations. The Sphere have upgraded to supporting their Kaiju now by healing it and straight up attacking Decker now. I guess it's learned that from GUTS-Select. Wow, Decker straight-up got beat! The timer didn't even kick in, he just de-transformed from sheer exhaustion. And then Sphere-Neomegas gets upgraded with Spheresaurus' arms. Nice to see the trios' bond deepening through exercise and the wise words of Kanata's grandpa! They even manage to inspire Hanejiro. Kaizaki looks amazing all decked out in combat gear. Terraphaser gets a proper Mecha launch sequence! Oh hey, look! Random TPC members with actual names! It's kind of surreal to see the TR Mega Buster being used for good again, but it was a pretty spectacular finish. I guess this is kind of "revenge" for Decker finishing the Kaiju last episode, although Decker got some cool moments with the Dual Sword. "They fight like former comrades!" Or present-day comrades. Although I guess in a sense they are a second coming of Dyna and OG!Hanejiro. Everyone talking about how powerful and useful an ally Terraphaser is and I can't help but think the Sphere just saw something they can hijack to service their plans. In hindsight having a robot that needs to be programmed and run maintenance on by an outside party know your secret identity is risky...as Asakage finds out about Kanata being Decker. What will he do with this information? Marluru is the master of the recap comedy episodes! |
Decker Dynamic's back is more dynamic than the front in terms of colors. Still love it.
Pestar is absolutely one of the most outrageous designs and I love it for that. Also shout out to the person who pointed out Hanejiro with a cold pack when he overheated, that was adorable. Now onto the Decker Episode. Again, I really enjoy Kanata and Hanejiro's dynamic together, ejecting Kanata to transform into Ultraman, and knocking down the robot he's piloting to buy time again, what a pal! Love how Kanata is rubbing off him. I loved how the episode had that first-person night vision sequence for the Sphere reviving Neomegas. Just out of the ordinary perspectives to start out an episode really adds something to them. And Sphere Neomegas kind of reminds me of IF from Nexus how it changes body parts to function for different occasions. It's also something to see a bunch of TPU members fighting with the main characters, which is great to see with Attack Teams like this (shout out to the guy dual wielding rifles). And Terrafaser firing the TR Megabuster was a great scene. Now another person knows of Decker's identity. Wonder how that's going to go. Next Episode: Recap with marluru! |
Happy 55th Anniversary Seven.

I watched Shin Ultraman today!
Overall I felt it was... okay. From what I understand, it's essentially taking a handful of classic Ultraman episodes and smooshing them all into one movie, which is really apparent in how the film itself is paced. That's essentially it for my major gripe with it. I did still have fun with it though. The action scenes were all really fun, I had enough fun with the characters to be invested in them, and learning Ultraman's' real name was a nice treat. I definitely gotta remember to make a GIF out of the swingset scene in the future too, haha. But yeah, overall I give it a 3/6. It's not anything incredible, but it's a decent enough time. |
Who finalized the name of the defense force/investigation team in Ultraman OG? The official subs opt for SSSP, or "Science Special Search Party". Other translations include "Science Special Investigation Corps".
https://m-78.jp/character/sssp/ P.S.: Decidedly odd how the initials pair with Super Sentai. Even odder that they echo (though I imagine this was unintentional) something that's more terrifying on a historical level. |
Oh yeah so Shin Ultraman is pretty cool.
I wouldn't say it's a groundbreaking movie, but it is fun to see Anno just make an Ultraman Movie since that's something he loves. It's very straightforward but genuine in it's love for Ultraman and really that's all it needs to be? It does feel odd in how they grabbed a bunch of episodes to put them together but the more I think on it, the more it sort of fits together. Mostly in the pacing aspect since this film likes to go really fast at certain points, both in how long a certain arc lasts and also the speed of the dialogue being presented. I'll definitely want to rewatch it whenever it shows up in better quality. Also one of the main character's just had a Kyubey mug and I sure wasn't expecting that. |
Patiently waiting

https://images2.imgbox.com/49/ca/Y4TEK1E7_o.png In Japanese the Kanji writing for the team is 科学特別捜査隊 "Kagaku tokubetsu sosa-tai" which literally translates to "Science Special Search Party" or in some translations "Science Special Investigation Team" which is usually abbreviated to 科学特捜隊 "Kagaku tokuso-tai" which translates to "Science Team" or more commonly "Science Patrol" |

Ichika freaked out is kind of adorable.
Kanata actually came up with an excuse for his deck holder! Of course, it doesn't hold up when he doesn't actually have bandages... Kind of a bit of a Halloween episode vibe with things going dark and the Marluru scare moment. Only Marluru could go from genuine positive compliments to the most scathing criticisms...except for Hanejiro, whom he feels solidarity with as a fellow mascot character. It's funny because the main trio all agreed with the criticisms that weren't theirs. Cyborg Ryumon, living bomb, Ichika, and zombie without a plan Kanata... Well, yeah, Kanata is enough like Kengo that it's reasonable to assume history would repeat itself as far as Ultra Hosts go. Granted, Kanata didn't help by immediately and casually admitting it...poor Hanejiro. All that effort to cover for him for nothing. What does "Decker" mean? I mean, he has a deck of cards... Kanata really not helping his case about not being an idiot when he forgets his own transformation device. Ah, Ryumon really showing how much he cares about Kanata there! Well, him and Ichika both, but it's nice to see. Did Murahoshi imply he knows Kanata is Decker? I kind of got that vibe... What a perfect punchline to end the episode on! Classic Marluru. Next: Noiseler! The return of Spheresaurus! Sabotage!? New Gen Deathfacer is born! |

On to Decker... For a recap episode, it was full of development and great moments. Honestly missed Marluru, so this was a fun episode. Love how Kanata justifies the card holder as a band-aid case (or I just forgot because I'm stupid). And next episode, we get Spheresaurus again! |

So guys. I thought of asking this here as a lot of yall are veteran ultraman fans. I wanted to ask what are the best ultraman series in your opinion story wise. I only ask this as there is currently a sale on ultraman blurays, but idk where to start. Out of the ones millcreek released ive only seen Geed, Zeros stuff, and Gridman. I really liked Geed and Gridman, Zero was a bit lacking story wise.
Just would like some help with any good showa or heisei ultra. Sort of thinking of mebius, seven, og ultraman, dyna, tiga, and gaia. But hardly know anything if they are strong story wise. Any recommends would be appreciated. |
