Well I decided to check out the first episode of Selector Infected WIXOSS.
I normally don't watch moe, girly looking animes like these but I found the first episode to be enjoyable. There's this hint of darkness there. The first episode was mostly set up, but this has the potential to become pretty good. Also, for an anime that's themed around this card game all the girls play, I was quite surprised that they didn't really spend time on explaining how the mechanics work at all. Though the impression I got was that WIXOSS plays similar to Vanguard or Chaotic. |
Watching Gantz

Something just occurred to me about WIXOSS
The show is about people that play this card game so they can have their wish come true. If you loose three games, your "avatar" character vanishes and you won't be able to play any more. This show's set up is pretty much Ryuki with moe anime girls. |
We finished the last three episodes to Space Dandy and seriously, what the ****? I know there is going to be a second season, but there is nothing here that makes me want to bother with the second season. Unfortunately, I'm over ruled by a majority vote in that department. Or maybe the episodes were not that bad and it was just the lack of brain cells after that terrible ToQGer/Gaim crossover that made them seem so. Either way, nothing came out of anything with Dr Gel finally discovering the secrets of the universe as it seems like it was all wiped away by the next episode, which is just stupid. There is no reason to not have ANYTHING in continuity with each other. Overall, I give the first season a 4/10. It has gorgeous animation, excellent voice acting, and there were some great stories mixed in with the crap. It does have some funny moments, but when there is no such thing as continuity, it makes it hard to enjoy the little things when the bigger things is nothing but a giant smelly turd.

Zeta Gundam: New Translation 3: Love is the pulse of the stars
So, Axis is actually Zeon and this kid is running it? Okay. Looks like the Titans are at their limits, now building a colony sized laser to destroyed the moon city of......wait..... Where have I seen this before? It's nice to see Fa actually pilot a mobile suit and not just be a babysitter of shitty kids like Fraw Bow was. Oh and that one woman changed sides. Okay? I also liked how Kamille manned up and finally became a role model and a respectable person. He pretty much gave Katz advice, which was the completely opposite situation for Kamille at the beginning, as he received a lot of advice for his angst. So let me get this straight, purple haired chick is in charge of the axis fleet, Sirocco is a free agent that's manipulating everyone and Sarah is working with him? Wait, psychic Gundams? This shit is getting insane. The battle of the gate of Zedan was nothing particularly amazing but it did set up for a pretty big confrontation later on. And, wait Kamille, you opened your helmet and survived? What the fuck? Not only was it pointless, but he should have frozen and suffocated in the time it took to close his helmet. I know it's an anime and it's about a blue haired kid fighting in a giant robot with mind powers, but Tomino seems to pride himself in making this "realistic". It's not realistic to open your helmet in space and survive. I love how the AEUG having the laser cannon at the end of Zeta is a complete role reversal of the original. Gundam fight in the cannon! Firing that laser one more time to kill anyone in its way. Wait, the Zeta Gundam draws from the strength of people? The fuck did that come from? If you're going to have your Gundams have supernatural powers, at least tell me up front what it could do. Battle of Gryps wasn't the most intense final battle I've ever seen but damn, that Sirocco fatality was pure badassary on Kamille's part. And the Zeta Gundam pulls some new power out of its ass in order to win. Also, I see dead people in the Zeta Gundam. I also love the scene where Fa and Kamille are in space just on top of each other and spinning around. |
The Axis is not Zeon...
There are three factions, the Federation/Titans, Axis, and Neo-Zeon. |

I wish someone would sub the damn thing quicker. I still can't fully get behind the premise but the amount of cameos the first episode had is impressive :lol
|
I now wanna watch it, the opening itself just destroys anything America can do with Marvel these days :lol.

I really like Zeta's series as a whole and I definitely recommend watching ZZ after the series. ZZ starts out really whacky and light hearted because of how Zeta ended, but then around episode 20, the show goes for the more serious route and just gets down right amazing once Haman Karn takes center stage. The only weird thing about ZZ is no Char. Quote:

Well still it's made to be a comedy for the first season basically. The second season is probably gonna be the one where Dandy realizes his true destiny .-.

Watched the first two episodes of Eden of the East... did they seriously reference Kate & Leopold?

Zeta Gundam 1-3
That soundtrack.... its so 80s and I love it. I liked that Kamille had this longer introduction in the first episode as compared to the movie but these episodes do fell super slow. I'm trying not to comapre these to the new translation movies but boy were these episodes super slow feeling. Also, first 3 episodes of your Tv series you're compiling from had a better explaination of the factions and who they are then your entire movie trilogy. But I find it odd that they have giant white flags just so Mobile suits can show a sign of peace. Why not one of those colored lights like the lady's mech ordering you to stop. This show seems to potray Kamille's mom's death as his own fault rather then an accident like in the movies. |
just watch the new dragon ball kai episode raw and i really enjoyed it. also they have covered the 3 chapters of the great saiyaman arc meaning they will end that arc next episode

Zeta Gundam 4-7
Oh crap! The titans have all the Mark-IIs in their possession and now what... oh... never mind, the AEUG have them again. But that episode was good for showing Emma Sheen's transition to the AEUG and Kamille's opinions about his father. I like the fact that Kamille isn't just one big ball of autism and angst but also is super into this whole military and Gundam thing. He's shy a lot but really shows his passion when people get in his shit. He at least knows some things about soldiers and the way there are supposed to act. He even designed the Zeta Gundam.... wait what? New Translation movies are really bad at explaining things. Man.... Kamille's dad is a dick. And he's up and stole the Rick Dias. Makes more sense for his death to be due to him escaping the AEUG ship rather then him being the one in a suit getting killed when Kamille's mom is getting killed. So that red haired lady gets sent off to Earth. Okay. Colony 30 reminded me a lot of the Texas colony arc in the original show as people were getting followed into this shitty colony. Although I don't think it takes just a few years for a body to mummify. Nice to know that blonde douche is actually getting some character development. And with the death of that Lieutenant Lady, it really affected him. This beginning arc has been okay so far story wise but this is really the time to establish characters and see them start to grow. |
So I finally saw Madoka Rebellion last night, and it was not worth the wait.
Most of it was wonderful, but that last 15-20 minutes were a massive slap in the face. So the good - it's not surprising that this film was Oscar shortlisted, it was absolutely beautiful. The story was well told, seeing the girls in an idealised magical girl universe was great too. The film also propelled Sayaka to hands down my favourite character of the franchise, all of her emotional scenes were heartbreaking. Sayaka X Kyoko for life. But that ending was so goddamn unnecessary. I'm not going to argue that it went against Homura's character or anything like that because it didn't. In fact it was a bold twist to show that nothing she's ever done has really been for a noble cause. But to just pull a reverse series ending and negate the show's fantastic conclusion? Horrible. All it did was make Homura an all-powerful overly-attached girlfriend and tease that even if Godoka rises again Demon Homura will just try to take her down once more. Blah. Nagisa was also a big disappointment. Bebe was really cool, but she either needed to be in the film way more or actually have a reasonable explanation to her other than "witch gone good". Since the first part was so great I struggle to call the film bad, so "completely unnecessary" will have to do. |
I finally got to enjoy some Bleach action. Last night's episode was pretty awesome, I'm glad the Reigai Arc is finally dubbed & we'll soon be done with the dub once the Fullbringer Arc has finished its airing on Toonami, I am hoping for a good show to take Bleach's place when it finishes airing, man I want them to bring Yu Yu Hakusho back, that'd be all kinds of win.

Just watched the opening episode of WIXOSS. Guess it was only a matter of time before someone tries riding the Madoka bandwagon and chucks a card game in the middle. Most impressive though is just how amazingly boring the combination turns out to be.

Zeta Gundam 8 and 9
Episode 8 only just had the Lunar fights and some of the inner workings of the politics behind the AEUG. And Kamille grows as a pilot by learning how to fight on the moon. Oh and Kamille found a Haro. Meanwhile in the Amazon.... The Argama arrived at Grandia and get the Hyaku Shiki. Great! Now I don't have to stare at 3 Mark-IIs all the time now. So the Haro that Kamille found was actually Amuro's? What a coincidence. But that does imply that the crashed colony from last episode was the same colony where the White Base came from. Wow, Kamille, willingly ignoring calls to meetings is not gonna get you anywhere. So the investor guy from last episode is at the Argama and... what the fuck? Why is this random investor dude beating up some random kid he just met (Kamille) for being late? I understand this is the 80s and physical punishment of children was more the norm back then but Jesus this dude beats the shit out of Kamille. I also find it funny that this dude fist fights better then the Titan soldiers in episode 1 LOL. But as cheap as it is, its a pretty good way to have Kamille not make mistakes and develop. He seems like the kind of kid really sensitive to punishment and abuse so he's gonna do anything to avoid it now that he's been told how to not get into it. Quattro and Emma tell Kamille to grow up and Kamille saves Emma's life during the moon base mission. |
Finished Fate/Zero and am three episodes into Fate/Stay Night.
I'm looking forward to the new Stay Night that's supposed to happen in the fall since it's supposedly going to continue the tone and feel of Zero. Because, while I understand Stay Night was produced first and probably should have been watched first, it is what I'm missing so far from it. It just doesn't feel like a real continuation yet... But that might be due to our main protagonist being completely clueless as to what's going on too. Most of all, though, I think everyone should be actually reacting a whole lot more to his last name being "Emiya" - after Kirtisugu's role in the last war - than they all are, especially Saber. But Zero ended up great. There were a lot of characters I loved to love and a few I loved to hate. Rider and Waver in particular were a great pair. |

Well episode 3 of Black Lagoon was hella AWESOME & HILARIOUS :lol. Also Blue Exorcist episode 7 is showing more random shit bout the exorcism teachers plus, after a long time we get a TV14 rated anime with the LOWEST amount of fanservice EVER, surprisingly I'm okay with that :lol :lolol.
