So ZeoRanger, do you consider Ryuki better then Dragon Knight or not?

Yeah I do. Dragon Knight is really good, but at its core its a pretty basic good vs evil story. Ryuki is a lot more complex and that really shines in the storytelling.

Dragon Knight is definitely worth watching though, simply because it deals with all 13 Riders much better that Ryuki did.

There weren't all 13 riders in ryuki though, only 10. So that in itself is a bigger plothole then Onyx.

Not really. Its easy to just assume there were battles going on in Ryuki that weren't documented by the show itself and that Femme and Verde got killed offscreen or the battle ended simply without them (I don't remember if its ever explicitly stated by any character but Kanzaki that there should be 13 Riders running around in Ryuki, but either way it doesn't really matter).

Dragon Knight on the other hand says right at the start that there's 12 Riders, the Onyx deck randomly appears in a dream then about 10 episodes later its suddenly physical and nobody seems surprised there's a new deck. It's not even named until Maya's boring clip show narration. The Onyx deck isn't so much a plothole, it's just a really stupid thing that happens that could have been so easily explained.

Like I said before, I was really surprised when I learnt who the movie Riders were, considering how seamlessly they were added into the series. It's clear they must have shot a lot of new stuff with Dragon Knight since they both reduced the roles of some Ryuki players considerably and massively increased others.

Man, I feel like I should watch this series again, especially as I just dropped MMPR.

Well watching time force and why did ransik half mask changed to mat silver mask to then a chromed silver mask it really weird.

I'd be curious to know the ratio of American to Ryuki footage, because watching it and having seen Ryuki a few months ago it definitely felt like most of it was new.

You can usually tell when it's US footage because the quality of the film is higher but the quality of the choreography is lower :p

If you read interviews in the series, they really gutted Ryuki claiming they loved what worked but HATED what didn't, so I guess they had a lot of space to fill.

I'm on episode 6 of Dragon Knight and it seems they have twice as many fight scenes per episode then Ryuki. Most of the fghts so far have been random Ryuki monster fights in the same episodes as Rider fights.

Yeah. The early episodes stick closer to the Ryuki fight scenes but add a bit more in, but by about midway through the Rider focus becomes drastically different and there's a lot more new stuff.
