Speaking of Netflix, I'm currently going back and rewatching them all in preparation for Defenders. Working my way through Daredevil at the moment, and I still think Season 1 is great. Season 2 on the other hand...still good, but I find it lacks the cohesion and emotional pay off that Season 1 had. It felt like Season 2 was juggling too many storylines between introducing the Punisher, Electra, and setting up for Defenders. |
More Marvel (just not MCU) casting news. Jamie Chung (Big Hero 6, Once Upon a Time) will be playing Blink in the as of yet titleless X-Men series.
|
Too bad it's not going to be a real X-Men series, just a TV show with Mutants in it. Kind of like Legion, but having nothing to do with that either.

Instead though, the show is going to focus on a random mutant's life living in the X-Men world. |

There's a difference though. Green Arrow is still his own character. The Avengers are just fine in the movies because they have thier own movies to be developed in first.
However, X-Men does not. X-Men barely resembles the comics to begin with, and constantly changing the timeline doesn't help manners. It's not like there is a Cylcops movie, a Rogue movie, a Jean Grey movie, etc. Plus, the movies have gotten so many things wrong from black leather suits to no costumes at all, to things like incorrect histories and characters. Like Magneto, for example. First Class is my favorite of the X movies, but they screwed up Magneto's motivations because it was a mutant that imprisoned him during WWII, not a regular man. Thus, his reasons for hating humans makes no sense. Then you have things like Rogue not being Mystique's adopted child, Nightcrawler not being Mystique's son, Scott and Alex's dad not being Corsair or even having them be orphans, to Sabertooth not even having any relationship with Wolverine. |

And someone hasn't seen X-men Origins.:p |

There's a difference though between not be a 100% adaptation and not even trying to be faithful to the mythology. Just because you character is called Phoenix doesn't make her Phoenix. Not to mention Jubilee and Angel being born at two different times, Havok should be 17 years older than Cyclops but they barely look 5 years apart, Mystique contantly hides in human form despite her "Mutant and proud" stance she makes, Storm's accent just disappears, the lack of any character development for Storm, Apocalypse being way too short and not even having all of his abilities, etc. |
The director of Doctor Strange wants the next villain to be Nightmare?
That's disappointing. I wanted either a full blown Dormammu or Shuma Gorath. |

I do hope Groot doesn't become tiring, since his role was basically "Do cute things" in that trailer.

Serinda Swan, Zatanna on Smallville and Aphrodite in one of the Percy Jackson films, has been cast as Medusa in Inhumans. I'm not especially sold on this one. But I haven't had that much experience with her acting.

Sorry for the double post. New news and it's been a couple of days since the last one.
Matt Nix's X-Men show has cast its second comic book character, after Blink, in the form of Polaris. Emma Dumont, who I have never seen in anything but was apparently on Pretty Little Liars, will be playing her. |

Wait....there's an X-Men show out/coming out? You're not talking about Legion are you?

Here's a version of the Deadpool teaser currently running before Logan. It's apparently slightly different to the theatrical version. Warning: profanity, blood, and buttcheeks contained within.

New Thor: Ragnarok image. I'm a little disappointed with Hela, but hopefully this just isn't a very good picture. It is EW, after all.
http://shuangxi-in-spring.com/Images/ew_tr_sm.jpg Edit: More new T:R pics, including an even more disappointing look at Hela, from EW here: http://io9.gizmodo.com/jeff-goldblum...ore-1793092847. |
1. Why does Thor have short hair? And swords?
2. WHy does Hela's face look like the dude's from Dr Strange? 3. Who's the black girl? Oh god, this movie is really going to suck. |

Thor probably loses Mjolnir.
Short hair because gladiator. No clue about Hela. And the black chick is Valkyrie. |
Yeah, they said back at SDCC that Thor would not have Mjolnir when he was fighting in the arena, though I can't recall if they said exactly why.. I'm a fan of the director so I'm going to give it a shot. By virtue of the fact Natalie Portman isn't in it it's already the best Thor film. Even if that means no Kat Dennings.
|
Meanwhile I need to play catch-up on Thor in general. Marvel needs to make a MCU movie box

The first few reviews for "Iron Fist" have been posted online.
And they are not good. (may contain spoilers) https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/ma...-rough-a149477 |
What's with the whole race issue about Iron Fist? Is it because of Iron Fist's race? But if that's the case, isn't he white in the comics?

I don't get it. Anyone that thinks they white washed this show clearly has no idea who this character is.
Kind of worried about the negative reviews though. That's not going to raise my hopes for this show. Maybe they should have actually had him wear his costume. |
