Yes, around episode 24 or so when the tone of the show shifts. You'll know it when you see it. He appears in only one episode after that and he's the star of that episode.

He leaves the show about 1/4 of the way it. That's when the show starts getting a *little* more serious. Only a little bit though. He temporarily returns in one episode but that's it. Its a shame he was dropped but I'm not surprised.

What episodes in Megaranger had the Nejiranger? I need to watch these to further develop something I'm working on.

What is everyone's least favourite mech design?

Either Change Robo or Great Five.
Both ugly as sin.

I'm sure there's probably a secondary robot that I dislike, but those two immediately came to mind in how much I dislike their look.

Has there been a character you wished manage to actually transform in a series?
Either because they basically had the potential or were just a really good character?

I kinda wish Miki got to transform. She has a yellowish-orange aura, so she'd be a neat orange ranger~

So I was coming up with Sentai theme teams, and I came up with Weather/Disaster team of
Red/Heat Wave, Blue/Tsunami, Black/Earthquake, Yellow/Thunderstorm, and White/Blizzard.

But then I realized that for a country like Japan, that team would be incredibly poorly received.
I modified it for Blue to be Tidal Wave, and swapped Black with Green/Tornado, but it led me to thinking.
Would it be possible to have a weather team not be done in poor taste for Japan, a country that is struck by natural disasters quite often?

Probably not. At least, not something so blatantly based on the weather itself. I think a team like that might be able to work if instead of being based off of weather itself, they were instead based off of deities of the respective elements. You know, a ranger based off of a fire god, a ranger based off of a water god, ect. That way, it would be much easier for the rangers to be see as guardians or protectors rather then, ya know, the disasters that ravage the country regularly.

Although you've probably got a good set of evil Senshi there. Possibly for the very same series.

I guess if you go with the Guardian theme, the weather team would be pretty solid as evil counterparts, yeah.

...Hmm... someone really ought to make a fanfic of that.

Anyway, rewatching HoPR again, I had a thought occur to me. Is the whole destroying the Megazords/mecha just a Power Rangers thing? I mean, it happens for a majority of series in Power Rangers, usually as either part of the finale or the build-up to it, but I've never checked on whether that was something the Sentai did as well.

I think that used to happen but it more or less stopped once annual team ups became a thing. At the top of my head, the two Steel StarBeasts from Gingaman were the last "important" mecha to be destroyed permanently.

Victory Robo, Dekaranger Robo, and Senpuujin were destroyed, too.

But at least Victory and Dekaranger Robos can be rebuilt. I have no idea about Senpuujin.

I think they were all rebuilt in their respective Vs crossover movies :lol

Does it matter?
Canon in tokusatsu is just as confusing and messy as comic book superheroes. Is shurikenger dead or alive? He died in his series and was replace by a kid in the 10 year anniversary movie. However, he did appear in the annual versus that serves as a epilogue/sequel to the original series. Oh, he even show up in Ninninger too.

Tetraboy from Jetman was destroyed in the final battle.

Hmm.....RV Robo and VRV Robo also destroyed in Carranger Last Episode but both robots are repaired after final battle.

I was only naming mechs destroyed after Gingman, because the poster said the Steel StarBeasts were the last important ones to be destroyed.

My bad about that. The Steel StarBeasts were just the last ones I could remember being destroyed. I remember because it seemed like nobody really cared that much. Also, besides Dekaranger, I haven't either of the shows you used as examples so, again, my bad.

If Zyuohger mechas was based on Lego/Minecraft, what if the future sentai mechas be based on Hot Wheels ?

A) While Zyuohger certainly took some inspiration from those two, call it based on them is a bit of a stretch and B) Do you not count Turboranger, Carranger, nor Go-Onger?

I don't know if they was based on Hot wheels cars.

Hot wheels are just small cars based on real life cars.
There's nothing to Hot Wheels that a show can really base themselves on aside from a silly ramp set.

But, some cars are fictional.

Of course! Just not now. Go-Onger was like 2008 and it's a good idea to give long breaks on themes so they don't go stale. Dinosaurs and Ninjas were used 3 times too iirc

I doubt we’ll see another vehicle-themed Sentai just yet. Drive wasn’t that long ago. I know Drive is a Rider series, but I imagine Bandai likes to balance the motifs out between both franchises to keep them fresh.

If thats the case I wouldn't mind another magic based Sentai
As far as I'm aware only Magiranger was magic based and it's been a while since Kamen Rider Wizard so it could be time for another magic lot after Kyuranger
As long as it's not Ninjas, Dino or Samurai whatever is chosen will be fine

Hmm, while on the subject of re-using motifs here is a list of how many years it took from one show to another for reference. The most obvious ones at least.

Zyuranger > 11 years > Abaranger > 10 years > Kyoryuger

Well, even just seeing the familiar and nostalgic suits might be enough for them.
A lot of people really enjoy Zyuranger basically because it's MMPR suits in classic action.

Anyways, I would gladly see a smaller team if it means more screentime for each. And yes Matrix, I'm going to watch Gekiranger sooner than later, I promise.

No worries. I wonder how a three man team would function these days though. The last three man team was Go Busters and we *all* know what followed that season. As ranger teams keep getting bigger and bigger though, I can't help but be worried that 3 man core teams will start becoming an endangered species. Only time will tell I suppose.

I rather liked Go Busters, I found it had a more personal level than most and I think the small team number went towards that
Small team numbers = more personal stories and development I imagine
I suppose that it wouldn't be so attractive now because of toylines and sales
Go Busters had a small toy line and no real gimmick and I think (correct me if wrong) didn't do that well
Whereas Kyoryuger and Kyuranger have large teams and thus larger opportunities to profit
I'm not saying that's their primary focus
But personally I'd be all for a more smaller and more personally developed Sentai :)
I haven't seen Sun Vulcan yet, it's still on my list
