I actually tried the first few episodes, and it just confirmed that Jungle Fury was a straight adaptation done well in a way only Disney could do. It's nothing like that Samurai bilge. Plus it had Anna Hutchison.

And sure, there were changes, but I mean straight adaptations by Disney standards, as in the days where Power Rangers stuck close to the sentai while still remembering to have its own idea for the season. Unlike Samurai, which thought originality just meant watering down the original. Fuck you Saban.

The way the auxiliary mechs are handled kinda bothers me, they simply... appear,because... stuff.

But I love that all of them are basically hats for Gosei Great. :lol

I think the Goseigers get their entire arsenal sans Gosei Ultimate by, like, episode 15. It's ridiculous how much crap they get so early.

Well, they lost their means of getting to and from Gosei World, so maybe Master Head just gave them a ton of stuff because he was worried that they'd run out of weapons?

As for the headders it's pretty easy to explain. The headders are described as living beings who sleep somewhere on earth and appear whenever they're needed. In all the episodes where they first appear, the situation requires another form of GoseiGreat (Landick Brothers) or the Goseigers are out of options (Exotic Brothers).

But just because they get their arsenal early, it doesn't mean the later episodes are boring. In fact, Goseiger is a season that starts out rather weak and then gets better and better.

I'll agree that it felt like they packed on all the additional powers and upgrades too early. Even throwing the one off Exotic into the mix. But the show didn't lose any luster over it thankfully.

The problem is, starting out too boring makes it frustrating to even want to continue. I have started watching the show three times now and have only made it to like episode 8 or 9 before I moved on to something else.

Beyond Gosei Knight's whiplash inducing introduction, I say once he shows up (17 episodes in) the show takes a large leap in quality.

I've actually found this problem with a lot of toku, like OOO is my favourite Rider show, but man those first fifteen or so episodes are a slog. I understand that each show is its own isolated tale, so they need time to set the ground work like the logic of their world and all the rest, but man how have they still not truly nailed how to make it interesting?

Subjectivity plays a large role.

Up to 3 in Geki: Nunchucks, GekiTouja and the Five Venom Fists.
A lot of fun so far, Geki Touja fights like a human instead of a mech, that's different.

The Sentai half of the Otsu net movies, was something of a letdown, outside of the crazy premise of the "Bed In" stories, there's nothing much to say.
They aren't particulary funny, outside of that instance of Wizard and Ian "Bed In" :lolol

Finally watched Kyoryu 31-33. Episode 31 is by far one of the best episodes of the series thus far. It was hilariously awesome. Not to mention it was an episode where Daigo actually was effected by the monster's trickery AND there was pretty much no true mech battle in it. 32 sucked ass though and 33 was decent, but being moronic just seems out of character for Utchy at this point.

Hurricanger 10 Years Later - This was actually quite enjoyable. It wasn't perfect, but it felt like it was a continuation of the show as the characters did not feel out of place or different. Not to mention it was kind of cool seeing how the cast has aged and how the writers handled what a ranger team would be like years after they have defeated the villains. I won't go into too much detail beyond, but I felt the flashback scenes were kind of pointless and it was also nice to have a Sentai adventure WITHOUT a mech battle for a change. I give it an 7/10.

Just started watching Zyuranger and I have to ask....what genius had the great idea to put two kids on a frickin space shuttle?! :lol

... Seriously? What was the plan? How did the media let them get away with this? How did the law let them get away with this- Oh wait this is Sentai there is no law. Guess they just had the idea of Space+Kids=Profit or something.

But I´m really enjoying Zyuranger so far. Really dig the whole fairytale vibe the show has going on.

Geki 4: things scalate quickly as the venom-ken arc starts, another excellent episode.
Between the jan-isms and all the techniques it feels like half of the episode is untranslated. :p

As for techniques, I think one sub group did a sub that translated everything (Which I would've followed if they didn't change Rio's name to Leo...I'm petty like that :p)

Man that sub job killed it for me. Like everything single thing was translated, like over the top translated to the point it wasn't enjoyable :lol I wound up back at Nihon for that one.

It doesn't really bother me I just think it's funny. :p

I think the final nail in the coffin was changing the name of the series to something like "Beast Fist Squad Wild Ranger" which I couldn't handle :lol

I just like it. Mainly because it's not actually Japanese. The characters in series don't know what he's saying and have to use context to figure it out sometimes. Translating it just seems...Odd :p

And technically, his name would be Leo, but calling him Leo would be like calling Jan "Jyan."
It's the accurate translation, but just...No :p

They actually have two sub tracks for those ones: one with the crazy over-the-top version you mentioned, and the other with the names kept the same. I watched the latter version.
