The speeches summarizing the characters are pretty much the only highlight outside of the Hibiki world giant enemy crab and the Black/RX double henshin. |

It's a shame they applied that logic to good story telling, too... |

I watched, what, episodes 6 & 7 last night? Blade World. not sure I care at all for the Blade designs. Not having seen anything of Blade before, I don't know how much it's portrayal in Decade differs from the show, but based off the the Kiva, Ryuki, and Kuuga worlds, I'm going to assume that it's quite a bit. Tsukasa is...interesting? He spends most of the Blade arc kinda being a dick to that one guy who's name I don't remember (Blade), but then at the end, pulls some motivational speech about two great the guy is, straight outta his ass, and suddenly they're best buds. It was kinda odd. Onodera Yuuske, is also, okay. I like him, he seems like a great guy, it's great that he's helping Tsukasa (he needs it, he has the people skills of a dirty wash rag), but where the fudge is Kuuga? H hasn't turned into Kuuga since his own arc. :( Overall, I'm still liking Decade. It's fun to see the other Rider worlds, I have appreciated the differences in those worlds with those I'm familiar with, and it's interesting to be exposed to some variation of the worlds I'm not familiar with (looking forward to the next arc, which appear to be in Faiz world, I've been wanting to watch that show). There is some random shit going on that hasn't been explained yet (and I'm not necessarily expecting it will ever be explained, but I hope something at least interesting comes of it), I like 2 of the four characters (gramps bothers the hell out of me, for some reason. Especially the lameass way he klutzes up the backdrops so they change worlds), and I'm undecided on Tsukasa himself. The suit is growing on me, though it's still the most goofy of all rider designs. Well, except Den-O Climax Form. In other KR series, I've got 6 episodes of Fourze left. I was going to watch two more last night, and then my wife decided she wanted to watch Fourze with me (cuz I made her watch the OOO x Fourze movie, and she loved it). So I'm restarting Fourze from the beginning with her. Should I continue on solo and finish the series, or move on to finishing one of the shows I left off halfway thru (Ryuki & Kabuto), or start up Faiz (after the Decade arc)? |
Blade is actually one of the most different series from Decade's portrayal.

I absolutely hate the Blade World episodes of Decade. I can deal with what they did to Ryuki World and Kiva World, but not Blade World. They completely insulted the characters beyond comprehension.

Watching Onigashimontage Warship now. This is the lamest chase scene ever. The bad guys run like dweebs, the kid isn't even peddling fast, and the jumping effects are terrible.

I didn't go into Decade with the intent on hating it. It just...Happened. |

Actually, the Goseigers are a pretty good team in their own right. IMO |

Oh man this movie is slow pancakes, but that part where teh duped the badguys on Denliner had me in stitches. But now they're fightign and... Diend shows up.
w- wha- w- And he summons G3, a Kabuto Rider I don't know and snakeface of Ryuki fame. I- And now they're fighting New Den-O. (. _ .) ( . _.) (_ ._) (__ .) (( __) (_(_ ) |

Oh yeah. I forgot about the Diend part.
I don't remember if they explain why he shows up beyond "He's a Decade character and it's 1/10 Decade's movie." |

Also, even though I saw it coming a mile away, the kid being Yuuto was kind of cool. But seriously, is Den-O just the series where every main character of consenting age gets reverted to a child? I hope this isn't the last we see of Yuuto's actor now. If you don't have Den-O why you gotta make Den-O movie, Toei? Quote:

Diend shows up because Kaito is, at heart, a troll. His main reasons for doing things are 'I need to do this to steal something' and 'Imma mess with that guy's (usually Tsukasa's) head'.
In the case of this movie his motivation seems to be 'Tsukasa and team Den-O messed up my plans in Den-O world, so I'm gonna interfere whith them trying to fight this other bad guy.' |

Just watched 38 and 39 of Ryuki on the way home from work.
Alternative is pretty damn cool. Not so much because of his powers, but because he looks like a SIC figure on the show itself. |

You know what my favourite part of Decade and W was? Not Skull's awesome first appearence, not Shotaro overcoming his guilt, not the sick wicked prelude to Fang or the admittedly awesome move by Decade to bring Shotaro closer, no... ...It was when Kabuto got his smug ass run into the ground and his dumb little horn thing broken off and tossed aside. That self-absorbed buttfiend shoulda stayed vapour if you ask me. For such a Japanese person he's a very badly-concieved American hero stereotype. Smug, pretentious, unbeatable in a fight, pseudo-philisophical and literaly thinks he's God's gift to Earth, and the story bends over backwards to support that. He's completely unlikable in every way, and that fact that people call him a troll in an endearing way is grievous misuse of the term and utterly befudling. A troll is an ugly, disgusting, lurking thing that only achieves self worth and satisfaction from belittling or enraging others with it's deliberate attempts to cause negative emotions in everyone. Unsympathetic, unrepenting, just vile incarnate. If your main character can be described as such, you have failed on the most basic level of storyteling. Quote:

I actually hated that scene.
Not even for Kabuto's death. Skyrider ran away, choosing not to fight back (And getting killed for his troubles), Super-1 got taken out like a bitch, and Kabuto forgot he could slow down time. It always seems Decade's victories when he's "Evil" relies completely on his opponents forgetting to use their completely OP and broken powers. |
