I could have used Shadow sneak which is just the ghost version of Quick attack but i forgot it was part ghost at the time.

Sometimes I think the anime gives us bad preconceptions on Pokemon that can be annoying. What are some of yours?

Mine are:
1. Pokemon saying their names as their only form of speech. I think only the anime does this.
2. Telepathic speech in certain Pokemon. They make for more personable characters, but it makes them too human sometimes. Compare mainstream anime's Mewtwo who is like a mutant human versus Origin's Mewtwo which only shrieked and roared. You don't have to use speech to make Pokemon likable, as seen in Victini or Pikachu.
3. Releasing Pokemon is ALWAYS wrong. Why does the anime demonize a game feature? That's as stupid as the first movie's (English dub) message of "Pokemon shouldn't fight".

The issue is that the theory tries to only use what the game showed (The games never explicitly showed Team Rocket stealing Pokemon) and then add in Giovanni's connection to Mewtwo (Which was anime only), then proceed to disregard that the anime showed Team Rocket stealing Pokemon.

For your first point, while the games don't have them always uttering their names, the games often feature Pokemon who you can interact with on the overworld roaring and stuff. It made them feel more like real animals, but I don't think they can actually speak anything beyond their names and generic animal grunts and growls.

I never liked the anime having Pokemon who can speak. While for some it makes sense (Arceus) and doesn't bug me, others are just baffling (Lugia spontaneously being able to talk, but Mew can't speak a single word?).

Your 3rd point is because you have to remember the disconnect between the game and show. Remember that, initially, Pokemon were literally supposed to be the capsule toys you could buy in stores. For the games, initially, releasing them would be the same as throwing away a broken toy.
By the time the Anime came around, the Pokemon concept had changed from living toys you bought in stores to the pet equivalents of the world, so releasing them was more akin to abandoning your dog or cat. It's easy to see why it's demonized.

Anyway, compared to others, I actually like what the anime does sometimes, most notably, skewing the size of Pokemon so that I'm not the exact same height as a Charizard >.>

That's where the franchise has been put into a rock and a hard place. :lol We don't abandon our pets, but we also don't keep hundreds of them in boxes or send our dogs to cockfight other dogs.

Sigh.

And hey, at least Pokemon can't just abandon you, either!

Anyway, I have a strange affinity for Rock type Pokemon. Not because of the type, but because I enjoy the designs of Rock Pokemon. It's annoying because they're a surefire way to lose every battle because they're weak to the overabundant water type, the greatest move in the game, Earthquake, and the incredible offensive type, Fighting. :\

Rock lost a lot of its strength when Steel was introduced. They were the go-to defensive type in Gen 1.

Rock is pretty useful offensively, though.

Ironically, Paul is introduced to represent the player characters :lol

Anyway, while offensively Rock is useful, that's where things get a bit complicated.
Rock type attacks are incredibly useful for it's large coverage against common types.
Rock type Pokemon are large liabilities, for their mediocre Special Defense and low Speed.

Additionally,Rock is often dual typed, ending up getting paired with a type that will cause a normally 2x weakness to double (Aggron and Tyranitar both being 4x weak to Fighting, and don't even get me started on the stupid "Rock/Ground" pairing), or not do it any favors (Shuckle's Bug typing cutting it's resistance to Fire, five of the fossils being weak to Electric), and, when not dual typed, Rock has the most weaknesses.

Basically, Rock moves are awesome, Rock Pokemon aren't, and that makes me sad.

Found the strange souvenir, i really hope this thing only resembles the Pokemon it's based on is only very losely. This thing is creepy.

Sounds like Ice Pokemon to me. Good moves, not so awesome type.

At least Ice Pokemon get a more varied moveset, being able to typically incorporate Electric, Water, Dragon, and Psychic attacks.

The Looker storyline is so heartwarming. This game is just so good.

So my next play through….I'm considering doing a run with all Evees on my team.

That sounds fun.

Hm...I don't know what Pokemon I want to train up. It was initially gonna be Tyranitar, but I decided against it because I didn't need another Rock type on the team. Then it was gonna be Aggron until I remembered Aggron was Rock too, not Ground >.>
