Tendou is very much hit or miss. Either his actions are endearing and humorous to those around him, or he's a complete asshat with no likable personality traits.
Kagami though. Kagami is the one I liked. |
You know who Kabuto is?
He's the world's most perfect villain rider. He is the foil for the real main rider who doesn't exist, one who needs to overcome the adversity set in place by said villain rider and eventually defeat him in the ultimate test of his skill and courage. Only that character doesn't exist. Not even Gattack who seems to be that character at a glance but isn't. But seriously, Kabuto as a villain would be an utterly dispicable human being and a great villain if they gave him solid motivation. Instead he is one of the most repulsive heroes, nay characters I have ever had the misfortune of being exposed to. Even his rider kick is pretentious and cocky. Turning his back to an enemy and waiting until they themselves dive in to be killed. If he ever fought a villain with brains he'd be screwed. I liked Kagami, but if the only reason to watch the show is a non-powered character who takes a millenia to even get the chance to fight, I'm not sticking around. It's like if G3 didn't have the armour. Yeah he's okay, but he doesn't really do anything for a long ass time. |
Actually, since Kabuto screws around and agitates his enemies, it makes sense that they'd be angry enough to do something like that.
If he ever fights a villain who can keep calm, then he might be screwed. |
Like I said, any villain with a brain. If his enemies are stupid enough to feed that festering troll they deserve to die. Maybe he's just bug darwinism incarnate? But did we really need a show devoted to that?
Kabuto is one of those things where I really have to stress the "my opinion" thing because I know a lot of people like it and think it's great, but I just can't see the entertainment value in it. I'm not saying they shouldn't, just that I can't. There's seriously, like, nothing aside from the suits and one character that's fun to watch about that show. The fights are poor, the cast, by and large, is forgettable and what's left isn't that likable, and I stuck around for about twenty or so episodes, (got through about 10 before giving up, went back and got some more done before calling it ultimate quits) I'm gonna say 25 because I specifically remember hititng the halfway point and still not being impressed, and I can honestly say aside from some new riders showing up and not doing a hell of a lot, I couldn't really tell you what happened. I don't even think there was a main villain, just random bugs with no clear or sensical goal. |

So I'm watching Den-O trilogy Episode red, and this whole story with Yuuto has hit me right in the feels. But, uh, there's some weird things going on, like Kintaros, um... mounting Momotaros when he's recovering from his bad back.
I mean, I know this is from Japan but... |

Now I'm tempted to go back and watch it :lol |

It's worth watching once, but man is Shin not one of the Rider franchise's high points. |

The First is still better than Shin. I can watch Shin but it is, odd.

First, Skyrider was not running away in that scene. Him, Kabuto and Super-1 were looking for Decade but got ambushed by their target. The closest thing he did to running away was trying to dodge when Decade started with a finisher attack. Second, Kabuto did slow down time. But Decade did it first, which is why Super-1 went down easy, and then turned invisible as well. Since that was a Decade movie and not a Kabuto one, reality didn`t rearrange itself to let Kabuto beat an opponent who was both clocked up and invisible. |
I highly recommend The First and The Next to anyone curious about them. I enjoyed them, anyway :lol

Finished Cho Den-O red. If this was indeed the last we saw of Zeronos, I feel it was a... decent sendoff, even if the whole "out of control Denliner" was a pointless plot element, even if Hobotaros was hilarious. (I still don't get why he's scared of dogs) It is a bittersweet ending, and I don't like seeing Deneb upset. Overall I felt it could've used less out of control Denliner and more actual Zeronos. I mean, he really spent the entire time in Zero form getting kicked around, and Altair and Vega barely showed up. (moreso Vega)
I dunno, it's starting to feel like Den-O never ends, but not in a good way. I feel like with Ryoutaro's actor gone, Zeronos gone and the Imagin getting less and less story as characters (seriously, Momotaros got out of the house, but everyone else just farted around. I kiss Rod, Axe and Gun forms) the series is running on fumes. New Den-O does nothing for me and I almost wish I had just stopped with the end of the series. |
Decade Episode 4:
Channeling Matrix... It was ok...but very few things make sense. They implied that Wataru had been gone for ten years...what? Why did Tsukasa know Otoya's song? How did he learn it? Otoya would have been long dead by the time Tsukasa was born so how? Also, Where did this Wataru come from? How is the Spider Fangire alive? That guy mentioned a woman living in Otoya / Wataru's house. Who? Maya? and how would he know her? ok, ow...ow...my brain..it hurts ow. Anyway...Decade flexed his Mary Sue muscles this episode, by taking out Bishop with little effort. The fight scene against Kiva was cool, except the part where Decade took Dogga and turned him into Titan's sword...but...but they're sentient...how? They also pulled a Justin and had Wataru inexplicably grow to adult size when he transformed. I don't like it when they do that. I think Yuuske was the highlight of this episode, I liked his interactions with Wataru. Yuuske's a cool guy, I like him. Kaixa aslso showed up demanding Decade's belt. Ok...hopefully it'll be explained in the next episode. Also Narutaki is creepy. |
So I got a lot of episodes of Kamen Rider and watching the first episodes to see what grabs me. I liked Kamen Rider Blade a lot, I'm going to go more into that one. I'm going to see what to watch next.

I'll agree with Split. Den-O was ridiculously popular, so they decided to just...Not end it.
You said New Den-O does nothing for you, so does that mean you're not watching Episode Blue? And Sideswipe, told ya Decade is a Mary Sue. Anyway, Yusuke is the one who does most of the work before Kaito shows up. He gets tagged as useless, but he's actually one of the best characters in the entire series. Quote:

Yuuske only ever gets the name Yuuseless from original Kuuga fans who think he's an embarrassment. I actually quite like him and he really comes into his own later.
As for the Chou Den-O Trilogy I was losing my mind when they announced those. Yes Final Countdown was the end of the main Den-O story but it's not as though the characters died or lost their powers or anything. Why not write more stories? W fanboys lose their shit every time the Ren Kiriyama and Masaki Suda come back as W and those are just cameos. Takeru Satoh had other acting gigs he wanted to pursue, I mean he eventually landed Ruroni Kenshin! That's saying something. Does it suck that he couldn't continue playing the character? Sure. But young Ryutaro did a fine job and in more recent films where Momotaros basically is Den-O I'm just as happy. It's been a while since I've seen the trilogy but I loved it to death. Seeing my favorite rider series return for 3 films was like a dream come true. And even though it was more about New Den-O seeing the character get double billing for the 40th anniversary film Let's Go Kamen Riders was even more awesome to me. Why shouldn't Toei have capitalized on Den-O's wild popularity? |
Capitalizing on it's popularity was giving it 3 movies.
This is just milking it now. |
Up to 42 of Ryuki now.
Man, I hope Imperer dies a swift and painful death, I really really don't like him. Gai and Tiger are dicks, but at least they look good. |
XD
Imperor was my favorite Ryuki design. Very streamlined, with a unique mask and an interesting contract beast. |
Quote:
He had a horrible design, pretty bland contract monster, was horrible as a civilian, and sucked miserably as a rider. The only character I hate more than him is Tiger. But I hated Imperor so much. Just wait a couple episodes and you won't have to worry about him. |

Watched Kamen Rider OOO, I really really enjoyed that first episode and Eiji is such a wonderful character. I'm definitely continuing with this one.

I watched Let's Go raw, was able to surprisingly understand a lot. What I didn't understand is how shit just kind of shows up. Like how did OOO have a Ridevendor in the future? Where did all the riders and their machines come from? Thematically this isn't a problem, just a weird "what." Maybe it was one of the bits I didn't understand. Overall it was great and seeing the old riders I don't know was neat. Like the evolution of the image of Riders in motion. I feel bad for not recognizing the guy who played the grown up glasses kid since I'm sure he's an important person in Kamen Rider, though he was the other kid's dad? Interesting?
Speaking of, Den-O seems to have an increasingly, and frustratingly, shift in focus on children as time goes on. I don't like kids. They're gross and dumb because they haven't been alive long enough to know stuff. Yet nearly half the movie was just them. I absolutely disagree. |
All the Riders came from the memories of the people. I don't know how that worked if the altered future meant that no Riders beyond 1 and 2 were ever created, but...Decade.
Anyway, it seems that you've hit the last Den-O movie (Though Wikipedia claims Super Hero Taisen is a Den-O movie). |

But yeah, great movie, all the riders in rollcall were badass, seeing Shotaro and Philip again was nice, and TaMaShii was nifty. Also probably one of the better combo jingles. But really, it's bitter sweet that the ultimate ending to Den-O lacks Ryoutaro in any fashion. Especially when you realise that Ryuutaros, Kintaros and Urataros all possessed Momotaros... so it's a rider that's an Imagin possessed by other Imagin... begs the question of why Ryoutaro was ever even needed. You know what I would have done? Given Koutaro the original Den-O belt. Then add Teddy to Climax Form Seig-style. (or have Climax form just weild the Teddy sword) That way we had the ultimate Den-O in the final battle. Also, why does the new belt have the coloured buttons if New Den-O only has one form? |
