Stupid Gundam question but why do people call Kira from Gundam SEED "Jesus" Yamoto?
|
Quote:
1. He's a god tier Mary Sue (at least in Destiny, in SEED he's perfectly fine) who never does anything wrong and strikes down those who he views as evil. 2. He gets himself into three separate situations that are physically impossible to survive from and comes out of all of them alive against all odds. |

Kira is fine in Gundam SEED, but my god I hate him to death in Destiny. It's like the writers did not know how to develop Shin so they made Kira the main star of the show again in between their 20 episodes of clip shows.

Started RIN Daughters of Mnemosyne earlier. First episode was good, but I don't understand why she decided to help that guy out in the first place...
There was a lot of fanservice, but at least it made sense from what was going on and wasn't forced in |
So I've been watching FMA Brotherhood recently and although I have personal biased in favour of the 03 version, Brotherhood isn't half bad either. As a matter of fact neither version has anything outright wrong with them that I can see.
So as I was watching the last episode of season three (the one where Ed finds Al's body in the gate of truth) and the song "Let It All Out was playing over the final scene of the episode I realized something, why must there be so much infighting between FMA fans over which version of the story they prefer? No matter the difference it's still the same story with the same characters we all know and love, it's just that both versions take their own path on the same journey. I'm going to continue watching Brotherhood and enjoy it as much as I possibly can. However, the next time someone asks me which FMA series I prefer, I'm going to look them in the eye and say "I love both versions, and I wouldn't want to be without either one." |
Looked into the new Season of Cardfight Vanguard.
I like that they switched main characters and it's now Kai as the lead but I haven't seen a full episode and already there's something that sticks out to me. So…the relationship between Kai and Aichi at times teeters from bromance to full on Yaoi but reading the subtitles in this clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxADMy8FbSM Just makes me wanna yell out "Damnit Kai, just MARRY Aichi why don't you!?" I think they're starting to run out of ideas because this seasons sound like a rehash of the Gold Paladin plot line. |
I prefer Brotherhood. I liked the first FMA, but I didn't find it to be all that amazing. I watched Brotherhood though and my god I loved it 100x more instantly. Olivia is my favorite character and I prefer that the sins are actually based on the sins.

Zeta Gundam 25
That was anticlimactic for the AEUG moving a colony and saving a city! Katz you fucking dumbass, think with your head not your heart and don't let prisoners escape. Isn't the blind spot Sarah mentioned on all mobile suits? Because the pilot can't look behind thier chair. Halfway through Zeta Gundam and I enjoy the series quite a lot. I think I'll take a break and go watch something else. |
Almost done with Tiger & Bunny. I'm going to miss this fantastic show and at least I have the movie to look forward too.
|
I haven't seen enough of either FMA to really tell which I prefer, but I think the animation and art in the original is much better. There's something about the way Brotherhood looks that bothers me.

Finally got to watch Black Lagoon episode 4, & welp, there are Nazis involved in this one :lol. Also Ao No Exorcist episode 8 is continued from episode 7 & Izumo FINALLY stops acting like a rude bitch :lol.

Captain Earth Episode 2:
Stiiiilll don't know how I feel about this series quite yet. The episode was mostly a resolution to last episode's battle and ALOT of exposition. I do agree that it seems to be trying to hard, but I think it's kinda average so far. Gonna watch the 3rd episode to see how I really feel about it though. In the mean time I'm giving Broken Blade a try and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, there's a lot of world building. |
Episode 13 of Kill La Kill and man is... The girl with the other scissor half annoys me now, not in a terrible I wanna kill her off the show, but just a small minor annoyance.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes of Broken Blade.
The best way I can describe it is that it's sorta like Code Geass mixed in with Escaflowne. |
Saw the first episode of Yugioh Arc V, it was pretty cool, though i have questions about the new cards...
I feel like the female character is gonna have relevance later on, because her name also has Yu in it. |
I watched episodes 22-32 of Yu-Gi-Oh! today. UP to Yugi's duel with Jounouchi.

So I checked out the first episode of Majin Bone.
In itself, I kinda like the idea of anime tokusatsu. Part of the charm of toku for me is seeing them realise super powered battles with real people, week after week but the budget restraints are undeniable. Thus it's a pretty exciting prospect to imagine how toku might look if it wasn't battling against the rules of the real world, both in terms of science and economics. Although, I have yet to see a show that really captures how delicious this premise sounds. Sadly Majin Bone is another show like that, it was just a sort of generic, bland anime, like a lot of the stuff I've watched this year. The action scenes have potential but the clunky CG animation kills it before it gains momentum. Meh. |
I finish Tiger & Bunny and the whole show is fantastic. I wish they will make a second season.

8th MS team episodes 1 and 2
And now back to 0079. Episode 1 was pretty basic, introducing the main characters and doing some cool small-scale space stuff. That female pilot is hot though. That episode had the best fight scene between a GM and a Zaku ever. Episode 2 was showing the main character proving himself and some more character introductions. It looks like they're using Mark-IIs just from the design and color scheme of them but they're actually using RX-79s. I also find it kinda weird that its supposed to be this gritty war scenario deep in a southeast asia jungle but all of the mobile suits make all the same noises from 0079 Gundam. Its unintentionally funny in a way to hear these cartoony sound effects in the middle of an even more grounded situation like this. Also, titties! The animation is quite literally, amazing. Even on the simpler suits like the GM and Zakus, you can see loads of detail and refined panels. the Gundams looked especially clean and give a shine and panel shape that only later 2000s series could match. I'm also watching the dubbed version and while the voice acting isn't amazing, I find that the voices all fit. |

Checked out the first episode of Build Fighters as I wanted to see what all the fuss is about. I don't collect Gunpla, and I didn't really come away from this wanting to collect it but I was impressed that a show about kids playing with models could be so epic and gorgeous with a great soundtrack.
Plus Sei's Mum is just... damn. |
