I love Let's Go. It's just such a fun mindless movie with characters I truly love. And TaMaShii combo is just so sweet. 2 of my favorite riders sorta rolled into one. Momo medal for the win!
That would have been awesome! Unfortunately even the actor who played young Ryutaro bailed on the franchise so now Momotaros is Den-O. I love Ryutaro to death but at the end of the day, if Momo is forever Den-O now, I can deal. And New Den-O's belt has the buttons because...... easy repaint/reuse of a belt? I guess? Honestly they probably just forogt about them and never bothered to change it :lol

I wouldn't mind Momo as Den-O at all if he properly achieved the title because, let's be honest, he's been Den-O from practically day one. He was the driving force, he never faltered. I don't think he once ever turned down a fight that didn't involve a dog. Which is why I like Ryoutaro as Den-O because Momotaros basically sculpted him into a fighter. A great coming of age story where a young man is shaped by an aloof mentor to become a brave warrior... only for the mentor to eventually become said warrior? If they had given Ryoutaro a proper sendoff, even just a throwaway line about how he was living with his sister happily and Momotaros took up the cause in his place. Something, anything. I didn't here "Ryoutaro" mentioned once. (figures he all but vanishes from the planet as soon as I learn how to spell his name)

So yeah, where to next? I figure if I start my next series now I'll be done in time for the new Rider series to start.

I wish they'd done that for all the Riders, just to see the crowd awkwardly go "Um... you..." when Shin popped out. :lol

It always bugged me that out of all of the imagins, those four (or five if you want to count seige) just happen to possess him, and also conveniently have their own train carriages and colours matching the buttons. Unless I'm remembering my Den-O wrong, I'm pretty sure they just happened to choose him because he's a singularity point?

It's kind of like Kiva in that respect, has the whole 'this stuff exists because we say it does'. That's why I'm glad that more recent series actually try to explain it a little more.

Yeah, we talked about it before. I think the buttons should have just been grey until he was posessed, or have the Imagin only become their colours after becoming Den-O.

I know, bland design and all that, but it's a pretty good series.

I'm currently watching Fourze and W, which are my first Kamen Rider series. I'm digging both so far, but I find W to be particularly fantastic. Hard-boiled detective super-heroes with a pseudo film-noir style? Why the hell didn't I start watching this series earlier.

So why didn't they run a silver sharpie over the buttons?

Also Wing form got a new belt buckle and not Strike. ROBBERY.

I thought they only got train cars after they became Den-O. Like, they materialized once that Imagin was part of the belt, and that's just how Den-O works. Afterall, sword form was obviously programmed into the belt because it looks like Denliner.

See? I'm willing to accept the train thing but the buttons grab my logic sack. Den-O may have fucked up my understanding of continuity and suspension of disbelief.

I kind of like the design for Blade. I wouldn't say they're bland, just same-y. There's not a huge difference between the many helmets and overal motifs.

W is pretty great. My favourite series overall and has a lot of good stuff going for it.

One thing W does that I notice no other series has done is have backstory. Real, we-wanna-know-this backstory beyond "an ancient evil was on Earth a long time ago and was evil." I mean, without spoilers to anything good, you have the technology of double, where Philip came from and everything about Shroud and Skull. I mean, I haven't watched a huge whack of shows, but out of W, OOO, Kabuto, Agito and Den-O only W has had an actual history that's readily apparent from the beginning and a concious effort to show important events having happened before the main rider existed. W has some serious world-building going on that a lot of Rider shows I've watched seem to lack.

WHY HAVEN'T WE HAD A FULL-ON SKULL MOVIE!?! Arrrgh, no we just get a billion Den-O spawns that don't have Den-O in them.

So I'm currently in the middle of Kamen Rider Kuuga, I'm finding it slow paced right now but likeable. I was wondering what should I watch next out of Hibiki, Kabuto, Kiva, Agito, or Ryuki?

I may not like W all that much, but I would be 100% behind a Skull movie.

Agito. It's basically a sequel to Kuuga. And a caviat about Hibiki: It's not a normal kamen Rider series. It's good, just very different.

Just watched Kabuto 11, and my overwhelming feeling is... Only Kagami would invite Tendou to a double date and not know all of the women were Worms.

I'd be all for a Skull Movie, Blade is pretty cool, and only Kagami would invite Tendou to a double date and think Tendou was his friend.

I haven't seen enough of Daisuke to make a decision yet. But the whole make-up artist lothario seems like it would get old fast.

His lack of anything to do with the actual plot of the show means he shows up rarely and briefly. Sometimes it's just shots of the Drake suit with no Daisuke or even voice over. When it's get near the end I think he may appear like once within the last 10 episodes. He's a bad character anyway but he also wasn't utilized like at all.

Maybe they realized he was a bad idea midway through and gave up :lol

So, episode 45 of Ryuki.

So not only is Imperer the most annoying and worst looking Ryuki Rider, he turned out to be just as pointless as Scissors.

I have no complaints.

Yeha, my problem with Kuuga is it did seem to slow down a lot in the middle. I found most of the character interactions to be very drawn out and boring, but they got over that after a few storyarcs, and anything with them learning about the Gourongi or Kuuga was really interesting.


Heh heh, that was pretty funny. I think that was the last episode I saw, or there abouts. Now I know where to pick up from once I get back to Kabuto.

Watch Agitio next. It's an indirect sequel to Kuuga.

Checked out Kiva's first episode. Don't think I'll watch it. It's certainly got cool stuff going on like the costume, but it's not my thing. Also that dragon castle is dumb. It's got little wings and little dangling feet. It's so silly. Overall it's just not to my liking. Nothing grabs me.

Think I'll try Blade next. Maybe I'll just check out a whole bunch of first episodes, or go back to Agito and see if a break has helped my problems with the show.

Wataru wasn't bad. He was funny when he was acting all allergic to air and shit, and his whole bit about how if he breathes air like humans he is a human and that's gross was kind of interesting. I didn't need to see him in the tub, though.

I don't think it was bad at all, just doesn't appeal to my interests is all.

The first episodes are generally weaker than later ones are. But if seeing Wataru in a tub is going to bother you, you should skip Kiva. As there's a lot more where that came from.

But, it's a good show, you'll be missing out if you never get to it. You should try it again after you've seen a couple other Riders, see what you think then.

Yeah, Castle Doran is weird, but you get used to it after a while. SPLIT LIP, if you ever do get to it...don't watch the King of the Demon World movie...just don't

Just finished up Ryuki (the series anyway). Damn, that was a hard hitting final episode. I know a lot of people say the ending was a bit of a cop out but I quite like it, it kind of seemed natural that it was going to end that way.

Overall I've REALLY enjoyed this show. There were a lot of great designs, fantastic characters and a pretty deep plot. There were elements I didn't care for, such as the ORE Journal guys and sometimes the Kanzaki plot got a bit difficult to follow, but neither was big enough a problem to hamper my overall enjoyment of the show.

Out of the shows I've seen so far I'd rank it above Decade, OOO and Wizard, but below W and Fourze.

Now to check out the movie, special and Agito crossover thingy!

Yeah, they kind of goofed when they decided to give all the Taros proper bodies toward the end of the show, because Ryotaro just sort of became extraneous. I was actually a little angry when Momo just slapped the belt on himself in Let's Go! and transformed. And I think Momotaros is awesome! But I was really into Ryotaro's arc and how he became less passive without ever losing his original personality, so his treatment in the post-series stuff is really a big slap in the face.

Also, I'm nearly about to start watching Agito. (On-Topic discussion wooooooo...)

I really did like how Ryoutaro grew to be less of a whimp without going through your typical balls-tightening-up plot. He was, like you said, the same personality.

And the thing that bugs me about the Taros' getting bodies and using the belt is that in I'm Born, even with bodies they still needed Ryoutaro to become Den-O, to the point where they had to abduct four Ryoutaro's through time to have all four forms. Now I figured maybe in Climax Deka (I think) where they were all given new belts from Owner that somehow upgraded them to be able to all be Den-O since they would have specifically been made for the Imagin... so why then did in Let's Go they just become Climax form, a form where they're not really that much stronger, instead of all having their unique forms? (Four > One, especially climax which isn't even a final, all that powerful form like Liner. It really just represents unity rather than actually achieving a "greater than the sum of all parts" thing, something they can do as individuals)

I dunno, Den-O really left me with good feels when I finished the series, but it really lasted too damn long and kind of cheapened the series for me.

Exactly. Don't listen to Switchblade hatin' on it. Kiva is a pretty good show that too many people have passed over.
Ending is dark as hell isn't it? The whole thing with Shinji dying in the next to last episode was a crazy twist that I never saw coming. And the way Ouja went out like a total badass is one of my favorite moments in the series. SO much to love with Ryuki. It's easily in my top 5, maybe even top 3 Rider series.

The movies are pretty meh since they're alternate versions of how the rider war played out. Ryuga is the only cool thing that happened in Episode Final. And 13 riders has an incredibly awesome moment at the end where Shinji becomes Knight after his Ryuki deck is destroyed, it was incredibly awesome.

I'm thinking I have to go full on Gekifanatic for Blade just so that people stop overlooking it because of "Bland designs."

Anyway, Ryuki is an awesome series. Definitely in my personal Top 5 Rider series, that's for sure.

Or it's a deeply flawed series that squandered all of its potential and lacked any coherent version of what it wanted to be.

I agree, though I do admit that it has it's flaws.

I plan to wach it after I'm done with Decade, Double and OOO.

Well after a month long break from other distractions, we are back on the road of Black and have watched episodes 28-44 this week. My g/f is happy that the three priests are finally doing something other than standing around talking, and she likes Shadow Moon, but she cannot wait for it to end so she can be done with it. Me, on the other hand, continue to love it even more now that it is subbed, but I still think Road Sector, Kara, and Mara are completely pointless.
