Yeah, I agree. Fly Away just isn't as good as the other three openings before it.

If I'd have to rate the openings, personally for me I'd go:

1: Cerulean
2: Wimp Ft.Lil Fang
3: Ni Bun no Ichi
4: Fly away.

I would rate it as accordingly:

1: Wimp by BACK-ON ft. lil' Fang
2: Cerulean by BACK-ON
3: Just Fly Away by EDGE of LIFE
4: Nibun no Ichi by BACK-ON.

I wonder how the new opening would be if BACK-ON had made it...? Would it surpass Wimp? :eek:

Sure Nibun no Ichi gives me a nostalgic feel, but it doesn't quite do it for me all the way. It was completely lacking that special umph. It could've been better, but that's just my opinion bro. Deal with it~ :p

Nibun no Ichi has that epic ump to me, Wimp is just meeeh to me all the way through.

Nibun no Ichi has that more of a friend and epic feelz to me. Wimp I really didn't like I also didn't really like it first started in the first 20sec of the song I actually don't lke the duet as much either, which is why I listen to the FAKY version only. It's still a good song in it's own right, but it doesn't do it for me as a Gundam song.

I do agree with you on the team-work, friendship part. There was a part of the song that really stuck out to me and made me feel good inside. Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was this:

"With you, nothing is impossible. You're the one that made me feel this way. You make up for the strength that I lack. I will cover the powers that you lack, let's fly away!"

That... that part was just so unbelievable. That's the part I usually tear up on. Really brings out the whole Sei/Reiji/Builder/Fighter friendship thing. :)

As good as the other openings have been, none of them have ever compared to Nibun no Ichi for me. To be honest I was actually really disappointed this new one isn't another BACK-ON track. It's good but it just doesn't feel right.

Exactly my point. I expected BACK-ON to make the new opening but instead we got EDGE of LIFE. It kind of upset me when I first found out about the news but I guess Just Fly Away is a good opening. But I feel BACK-ON could've made a much, much better song.

Mostly trying to broaden my collecting horizons. But again, the dollar's utterly dismal state means buying from outside Canada is downrigth painful. Like, normally I'd buy from HLJ, but since backorders take a while, the dollar may be worse by the time the kits come in. So at least buying Canadian I know exactly what I'm paying when I'm ordering it.

If it weren't for that I'd just stick with HLJ and the like.

EDIT: Yeesh, then again given the prices on the site you linked even with the unpredictable dollar HLJ is a better route. Guess I'll stick with them, but I gotta at least compare y'know?

Yeah, like I said: if you're picking up locally, they're prices aren't too bad. usually it equates to HLJ's pricing plus EMS shipping and maybe a small mark up to cover costs.

Their site says they don't do pick-ups, though.

Have you tried Hobbywave? Their prices are pretty reasonable and they have a flat rate shipping of $18 no matter what you order. I think the only downside might be what they have in stock at a given moment. But I bought from them once and I got my order in 2-3 days because they have Canadian warehouse. Worth a shot.

Man, if I had known about this store a couple weeks ago, I could have saved $10 on Broly. Haha. Gonna keep this site handy.

Their prices are in USD though. For example, a kit that's $37 there is $47 Canadian. That's why I wanted to go with a Canadian store.

Eh, not really. There's tons of hobby shops and toy stores in the area that sells Gunpla aside from AnimeXtreme not to mention a big Anime convention in May that brings dealers from all over in.

The crappy thing is that most of these places are either too far out or way over priced, thus far the place I linked is the best one.

Yeah, where I am, there is one or two stores that actually stock gunpla but their prices are about double what they are in Japan so I stopped going there for gunpla. Other than that I have rely on online retailers.

Honestly, I prefer buying from local shops like these for the connivence of being there when I want them gotta help out the little guy y'know?

I think I've figured out what's wrong with 00... it's how it's spit in half. I think the writer intended it to be a single 50 episode season, with 1/3 being devoted to the events before the 5-year time skip and 2/3 of the episodes devoted to the time after. But because the show had to be cut cleanly in half with the time skip in between, the first part had to be stretched out and the second part condensed. That would explain the odd pacing.

Actually I believe it was because Bandai told Sunrise to make Gundam 00 with half of the usual budget that goes into a full 50 episode show. And if 00 did good enough Bandai would give the other half to Sunrise to make a season two.

So I guess they never expected a season two to happen? I just know the first issue was budgeting that's all.

I don't know much about the production behind the show, but since 00 aired in the break between the Code Geass and R2, it must had been planned to air as two seasons from a long time.

According to TV tropes, the time skip was supposed to happen in episode 31. So its actually the other way around.

I don't think so, the end of season 1 made it very clear that there would be a season 2.

In other good news, my action base I've been waiting on for a few weeks finally came in...

Last week's Try ep was my favorite so far, between the ZZ GaoGaiGar, Ninja Team, Zaku Team, and SD Team. So much awesome packed into one episode, and that's not even counting the Portent and Crossbone teaser.

Amazing Red Warrior or MG Build Strike Noir both which only need stickers for their eyes.

All of them require at least the eyes.

Almost all of the recent MGs don't use stickers for most things, but no kit is completely sticker-free. Even on MGs they're always present, just for minor details like eyes and faction symbols, you can't escape them completely.
