It's in a weird spot. It came out a little before smart phones, so it is kind of hilarious to see Tony build a super suit, but still use a flip phone (Even if it was a LG VX9400) :lol

It's a decent flick. It hasn't been the MCU "Gold standard" since The Winter Soldier (For the more plot heavy fans) or Guardians (For those more into quirky protagonists), though.

I was always kind of in the camp that preferred The First Avenger and Thor over Iron Man.
To this day, I'm still baffled as to why Thor ends up so low on so many lists for MCU films. I mean, yeah, Thor 2 was kind of crap, but Thor 1 was a solid mix of action, character, and humor. I loved it.

I still haven't seen either of the Thor movies, mostly because I've heard enough bad things that it's scared me away from doing so.

Those and the 2008 Hulk are the only MCU films I still need to see...really should get around to it, especially since those are all on Netflix now...

I never thought Thor ended on the low end spectrum, kinda thought that the first Captain America film held that spot.

Of the Phase 1 stuff, Thor is my favorite while Iron Man 2 is my least favorite.

On the other hand, I think Thor 2 is the worst of the Phase 2 movies.

Actually, that's one positive thing I can say about all three Iron Man movies is that at least the action sequences will keep you entertained.

They said they wanted to bring back some of the humor from Thor 1 that was lost in The Dark World, and they certainly did. :lol

I'm also super curious to see how everything goes down that leads to, well, that. Here's to hoping they don't pull a Spider-Man and their next trailer tells you everything.

Really wish a movie with the title "Ragnorok" wasn't trying so hard to be Guardians of the Galaxy.

Like, if they just took out that background music and had some instrumental, not dark and emo but at least on point music, the trailer as it is is just fine.

Also, now that Dr. Strange is a thing, I expect more spells from you Loki. Less reliance on staff weapons and your little knives, full on spell casting.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, I knew how it was going to end, and it still hurt to watch it actually transpire. My heart broke a little. It sucks seeing Gwen's fate in motion.

The whole movie sucks though. It was just one giant predictable mess after another. It also sucks that they killed Gwen off so soon considering how much chemistry both Stone and Garfield had. What makes it even worse though is that it meant Gwen was only in these to die, but I guess Sony knew this movie was going to fail, so they had to throw the plots of their next three films into one.

Everyone knew she was going to die though heck people were already saying she'd die in the second movie and Mary Jane would be brought in before it even came out.

It was the outfit she was wearing in the trailers that sent up red flags for me. I knew what the outfit meant.

Other than Gwen Stacy dying I doubt you could call the movie's multiple plotlines predictable. The movie's still a mess with SO many fucking problems, but I feel that's not one of em

To be fair, until the introduction of Spider-Gwen/Silk, Gwen in the general public's eye kind of devolved to "Spidey's girlfriend that died."

Kinda disappointed about ASM2, though. I had high hopes after ASM turned out to be a lot better than I expected.
After ASM2, I'm sticking to my guns that the "Goblin" characters are the reason why Spider-Man movies suck.

What's especially funny/harsh about TASM2 is how Kevin Feige looked over the script for free and suggested changes to the movie that would have gotten rid of quite a few flaws and Marvel's CEO warning Sony that the movie would flop horrendously by citing major criticisms critics ended up having. Yet Sony STILL went through with that mess

They really, really wanted this movie to spin off into Venom and Sinister Six, while also allowing for ASM3.
So I guess the changes meant they couldn't sequel bait as hard? :lol

Sequel bait is only good when the movies themselves where enjoyable or setting up to something people want to see. See Thanos

The problem with sequel baiting is that most movies that do it are so concerned with setting up the sequel that they forget to be their own movie. This was the problem Iron Man 2 had (and AoU to some extent), Prometheus, Batman vs Superman, etc.

Daredevil season 2 had this issue too so it's not just limited to movies

DareDevil's second season still had its own self contained stories though. The DD/Elektra plot was finished as was the Punisher plot.

X-Men Blue was a fun read. End parts were unexpected.

About what I expected from Freeform. I hope it ends up being less cliché than it looks though. I love me some Cloak& Dagger.

Are the comics involving the two of them any good? I only remember them vaguely from Maximum Carnage.

I was mostly reading them a couple of decades ago so I can't vouch for anything recent, but the Doctor Strange/Cloak & Dagger split version of Strange Tales was pretty awesome. Of course, I might be a little biased because of the Cloak & Dazzler run therein. Most of their stuff, from the introduction until towards the end of the 80s is worth a read. I wonder if those are available on Marvel Unlimited. I'd like to reread them myself.

Fair warning, teen drama is in the DNA of the characters so if that isn't your cup of tea you might not take to the series.

I don't think it'll be my thing. I don't mind them as characters, but a teen love drama sounds remarkably boring, even if they do add super powers to it.

Well it certainly does look exactly like what I expected it to. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not sure if it'll be my cup of tea, but willing to give it a shot. It was clearly always going to be a teen drama, so that should surprise nobody. And from what I know of the characters, makes sense to me.

And I'm seeing they've only filmed the pilot so far? Which means this teaser is cut together from the first episode, which means they should be getting their powers nice and early. That's good, leaves plenty of room to explore and see them. Speaking of, Cloak's cloak was looking pretty cool at the end there.
