So far on OO, this show is so oddly paced, I want to praise the show for having just one big quest but then internal, smaller storylines seem to get shafted in the process, like Dax's relationship which was been treated as a joke in every episode but the one centred on it, or how their huge quest ended with them finding a pearl in a ghosts beard in such a ludicrously contrived fashion that it tore down any pretence that this is some methodical, planned out serial.
That isn't mentioning that the globe trotting aspect of the series and the implication of a large number of independent villain factions is largely brushed over so we can pour a painful amount of time into a single action sequence instead. OO is one of the most epic Power Rangers shows ever, and somehow feels like one of the smallest. Speaking specifically of episode 8 though, it was another enjoyable episode. The original American Footage has come HELL of a long way from the days when well...remember that AWFUL fight between the White and Green Ranger? Yeah... The action in general was just so good, I love how many villains in this show provide a 'oh shit' factor, Kamdor and Will's showdown especially was just epic. Just a shame about the acting. |

And yes, this season does not suck. It has a Dump Driver full o' problems, but it's not nearly as terrible as people make it out to be. Sorta like Turbo's baby brother. |
He's probably watching it off Netflix.

more like turbo is oo little brother.

More like Turbo is too good for this world.

Yeah, that i definitely have to disagree with. I hated the cast of OO, I hated the thing with the red ranger, but most of all, I hated the villains. All I could think of whenever one of them was on screen, especially the ice dude, were these guys:

Norg sucks, Norg sucks, Norg SUCKS!!! And the Miser Bros. are one of the reasons I love the OO baddie brothers so far. That and Flurious (the ice guy) has awesome practical makeup. |
You see the great thing about all of those on the fence with OO is this, people have hyped up the faults to such ludicrous degrees, the show can never live up to the bile spat at it, which means that every aspect of the series impresses because you were forced into the show with expectations through the floor.
Yeah the plot, pacing and acting are all kind of weak. But the ideas are all great, the Boukenger footage is great, the new American action sequences are fantastic, as they always are with Kalish era Rangers. And when people say things like 'they just stopped trying with oo', that is just flat out wrong. The sheer amount of new stuff filmed for this is staggering, the effort and money they must have put into this is mad crazy, especially after coming straight off the back of Mighty Morphin' which plays out almost entirely like a Sega CD FMV. |
OO 9. Although nothing special, it was once again a great blend of stunning action and a great cast. Although Daddy Red isn't all that great a character, I love the little scenes between him and Mack and Spencer is the best character in the show.
Hell even the Super Drivemax Megazord wasn't that bad, I'd grown so used to the secondary stages of the Megazords to be these hideous, flappy clusterfucks, but that didn't really look too bad. Although I do hate the way new Zords keep coming out of nowhere. It is almost as bad as Dino Thunder for pulling new Zords out of its ass to overkill levels. |
OO 10 was fairly uninspiring but once again the action was so good, along with the new footage, so it was still entertaining.
