eye stickers I can deal with, I just have seen the stickers vangelus had to deal with on his unicorn vbuild and it looked like more trouble than it's worth.

Some kits handle stickers better than others. Some, like the Sengoku Astray and Build Strike Gundam rely very heavily on stickers. But there are also ones that only use three or four. Most of the time they're really not that hard to apply, though.

I would like to support the local hobby stores but I would rather not pay $40-50CAD for a HG kit. It's unfortunate but at those prices, I just can't.

My tip? Find yourself a pair of tweezers. They'll make your life a lot easier.

(also can anyone tell me how to shave down those plastic nubs that are left from where you cut off part from the sprue without wrecking the plastic? like all my attempts seem to lead to.)

you can just use a regular file. all it takes is a little self control

There are various sizes and quality of gunpla. There's 1/144, 1/100 and 1/60 scales. With 1/144 scale having the most models/ variety.

You can shave the nubs off with an x-acto knife or sandpaper

Well thanks Den-O for telling me there are new Gunpla for preorder. I decided to nab RG 00 Raiser. Havent got a RG yet, and I love 00 too much to not.

Okay so any recommended X-acto Knifes, or sandpaper types? Also I do use a file and sandpaper, and something that is similar to an x-acto knife (it's an x-acto knife blade in a push-pen shell), and even then there is still some plastic left. (what I'm saying is I'm incompetent with removing nubs)

That's... not the best choice. Even though they say that they're for beginners, they actually have a good number of stickers, and other parts that need to be outright painted in order to get it like that picture. I'd recommend a Wing Fenice, Build Burning, Dark Matter Exia, or Crossbone Maoh. None of these are particularly difficult/sticker heavy, and have a good end result. Just keep in mind that any kit with "Beginner/Starter/Beginning" in the name isn't always the best choice. Many of those kits were made a very long time ago, and aren't very good by today's standards.

You can also scratch nub marks off with your finger nail.

I'd say it's good, but it has a big problem. If you look under the fists, those red guards get in the way of any natural posing you can do with the swords.

I'm gonna see if I can get the cross bone gundam. it has a lot of stuff I want for parts mixing if I ever get into that and I actually do like the design. this I'll try to get for my birthday.

and I plan on getting the Wing Gundam and Gouf as my next 2 together.

Well, those tiny SDs sure turned into a humongous dragon...

I... dunno, due to their debut I expected the SD-R to fight in a similar fashion to the K9, with lots of tricks an traps, and while it aimed at that it never felt particulary threatening.

I was pretty underwhelmed by this episode to be honest even the debut of the SxDxR combined form was meh compared to TryOn3.

To be fair, everything's meh compared to the Tryon 3.

EDIT: I kind of want to read the Astray manga. Is it self-sufficient from SEED/Destiny? Do I have to start with the 1st or can I jump into R or Vs.? General thoughts?

I thought the episode was pretty much fine in all honesty. It was more of a comedy bit installment but I'm cool with those. I don't think it needed to be a 2-parter at all but oh well.


The SDR combo though is clearly Mecha King Gundam or Gundam Rayquaza :lol

If Build Burning was a custom based off God Gundam I could see it happening but aside from Martials Arts I don't think so any time soon due to the robot Damishi

Ghidora seems more accurate given that it's a three headed dragon.

That was another nice episode. The fight was really nifty in that it's another more strategic battle, which actually made you kinda think the team wouldn't win. That's all the praise I have though. The comedy section is what we've seen all season: Fumina and Gyanko get upset when a girl talks to Sekai and Sekai is a bonehead and doesn't get it. It's getting rather annoying now. Also Fumina looked like a damn alien here, I'm convinced they changed her design some.

Anyways, nice second half, love that it's a two parter, but the first half is just kinda bad and tiring.

Also, love SD Ghidorah.
