Definitely true and very safe. But I wouldn't even go that far, as there are often rumors that end up being true before any official announcements and catalog leaks... they just usually come from sources with a reputation for accuracy.

Trusting some anonymous 4 Chan poster without sources or a good reputation is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
