Really, Jan's "Nikiniki wazawaza" could get annoying really quick, but every time it did they'd cut to a villain scene and make me want to watch more. :lol

So I'm still on Go-onger, and the G3 Princesses just elicited a "WHAAAAA...?" from me. Goodness, this show can't get wackier.

Still watching on Gobusters and can't stop myself from watching Jetman even though I want to finish Kuuga first.

Well, guess I might as well start Jetman. After the massive disappointment that was Sun Vulcan, my expectations are lowered enough for it to blow my mind :lol

As I've mentioned in the Kamen Rider thread, I'm watching 1 Rider (2 episodes) and 2 Sentais (one episode each) a day. The Sentais I'm watching are Dekaranger and Jetman.

Dekaranger, I left off last year at episode 30. I stopped because of other shows and I really wasn't looking forward to episode 31, a DekaPink episode. Ugh...DekaPink. Okay, she's cute as a button, but she gets on my nerves very quicky (though if she was drunk every episode, she'd be awesome :p). I've been meaning to finish it if only because Doggie is one of my favorite Rangers (both versions of him). Anyways, I finished episode 36 today. It was the DekaSwan episode...can't say I enjoyed it all that much. Nothing bad, just reminding me that the rangers are dumb for detectives (It's DekaBreak's turn this episode). Plus, DekaSwan is never explained, which kind of pisses me off when the narrator is telling me what Dekametal is for the 100th time instead of explaining why she's suddenly a ranger and blah blah...Yeah, I want to like this show, but it doesn't want me to like it.

Meanwhile: Jetman! I cannot say enough good things about Jetman...except when it's a White Swan episode. I don't like White Swan all that much (she comes off as a snobby brat to me). Aside from that, I love just about everything else. Last night, I hit a 3 parter, so I skipped Dekaranger yesterday and skipping Jetman today. The 3 parter featured Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X. It was great like most Jetman episodes. It has everything. New giant robots, major plot, comedy, Ako's panties, and even hookers! You know, FOR KIDS! :D

I'm really trying to like Gokaiger. I really am. But 20 episodes in, I just can't get myself to like it. Ahim is cute, Marvelous is pretty fun, but every other character is just so boring. Luka and Joe don't have any kind of substance to them, and Gai and Doc are one-dimensional comic relief characters. The Mecha designs, I find, are really bland and awkward-looking, and the form changes really do seem a bit forced in the fighting.

Someone talking about Gokaiger that isn't mindless praise?

I pretty much agree with everything you said about Dekaranger. I'm about 40 episodes in and the Voice over guy is starting to really annoy me. I don't think children in Japan need to be reminded every week about Sen's thinking pose or what it means when there judging the vilian of the week. I do still enjoy this series however it's not the best series I've seen.

I think I'll move on to Jetman once I've finished Dekaranger.

Carranger episodes 1-4

I just finished Timeranger. That was a bittersweet ending for that series. Now I know why people compare Timeranger to Jetman. I've seen the first 4 episodes of Gaoranger so far and I'm getting a lot of Gingaman vibe from the show what with the animal motif and the running on all fours. But that should be good since I like Gingaman.

Also finished Gekiranger. Damn I love that show one of my all time favorites. Just finished watching GP 1 of Go-onger.

Carranger episodes 5-8

i just started watching Goseiger and i dunno but i finding it easier to get in to now after the show is finished

Tonight instead of Dekaranger (or rather instead of finishing an episode I wasn't enjoying), I watched Kakuranger eipsode 3 because I realized it had finally gotten subbed. Good trade off. Episode 3 is titled "American Ninja" and features NinjaBlack...in a cowboy outfit. Because you know all us Americans dressed this way in the 90's...well, maybe Texas. Plus, NinjaBlack talks mostly in English, which is surpisingly good. In fact, his English is good enough that the subtitles are more distracting than helpful when he talks. Kakuranger is fun to watch, I just wish more was subbed!


Since the 3 parter of Jetman that introduce Jet Garuda, I've seen Shadow Rangers (with Playboy Bunnies because Gai awesome), a time traveling mammoth (complete with Raita getting some prehistoric booty), a go to hell episode...literally, and an episode that's basically about the proto Jerashid from Gokaiger. Except far less disrupting than Jerashid (not sure about that spelling). Jetman continues to be one of the greatest Sentais I've seen. Almost every episode is a pure joy to watch.

I guess what I'm saying is 90's Sentai is awesome and I need more. :D

I'm up to the low 30s on Jetman. We've finally hit the point where Ryu realizes that "Wait a second, that woman looks exactly like my dead fiance!" Also, Tetra Boy and a pair of demons who want to protect humanity from Vyram so they can turn people into pineapples and drink the juice. I swear I am not making that up.

NinjaBlack speaks good English because he was born in America and did not live in Japan until he was 18 I believe. His dad was also an international movie star, which one of his movies was called American Ninja.

Carranger episodes 9-12

I'm having fun car spotting in this series. First there is the Autobianchi A112 that they use in a couple of episodes. Then there was a Vanden Plas Princess in the garage in episode 8, and in episode 12 there is a Mini with a KAD 16 valve head-swap. Not to mention all the Lotus 7's and the Espirit that's always in the garage.

Jetman is just so awesome :lol

I just finished episode 35 and it's fantastically silly. This was right after a few plot heavy drama filled episodes to, so it's was extra great. It's very much a filler episode. Some of the following text are linked to screenshots for fun.

It features an environmental theme complete with "Super Gas" (For when normal gas is not enough to make a monster! :lol). It also has a Dove (a normal bird!) that fights the Poison Gas Mouse monster. Wow! Just WOW. It's so fake and horribly edited. Then Red Hawk has a bad ass moment where he cuts the monster's arm off. This is all in just the first 5 mins by the way. It's positively silly. Later on, the dove gets a BACK STORY! :lol


My favorite moment, however, is what Tetra Boy does to the monster's face. Just take a look! I need a Tetra Boy SRC now!

I don't think i have come across one opinion , good or bad about MegaRanger. Anybody>? anything?

I have only seen 2 episodes off Megaranger and it is good go check it out

I don't like the cast being students. I didn't work for me in TurboRanger, it doesn't work for me in MegaRanger. It just seems too cliche and the ending was predictable. Plus, it did nothing with it having a spaceship for its mecha.

Outside of that though, the show is well done. MegaSilver is pretty bad ass, but Yugande is just down right awesome.

Megaranger was just ok for me. I thought the suits were bland. I actually think that the Neji Ranger suits were better.

I finished Go-onger and it was a blast. The team was among the most charming I've ever seen, without any duds whatsoever. They played off each other to near perfection, and what was impressive was that they didn't need a strong Red to connect them together the way other teams did. For example, the Shinkengers and Gokaigers based their relationships with each other on Takeru and Marvelous respectively, whereas Sosuke, despite being the backbone of the Go-ongers, doesn't dominate them like the other Reds do. While it is arguable whether this is a good or a bad thing, it gave the entire team individual personalities, and thus I remember them better separately than I do with other Sentai teams.

I could do without the G3 Princesses though, that was just weird. :confused:

Indeed, Go-Onger is truly excellent. You should see their crossover with Shinkenger if you haven't already. I haven't even seen Shinkenger when I saw it(and still haven't) and I still loved it.

Fanservice happens. And at least it's not an anime, or we'd probably see them in more than two episodes. :lol
